Usually I'm rage watching at the male contestants but this time Irina and Mika are the real villains
They’re the absolute worst!
Micha and Irina are mean girls in this season, but tbh although Zach rubbed me the wrong way he genuinely liked Irina a lot. To me the only couple I pray makes it to the end is Brett and Tiffany. They are such a gorgeous couple and the attractive both mentally and physically goes both ways. The rest I'm very doubtful for most of these people need some type of therapy or at the least counseling. I hope this show provides that behind the scenes because the one young woman breaking down on the honey moon really made me feel bad for even watching. I felt like I was intruding on her mental well being and that's not okay.
Irina is not attractive at all so to diss Zach was insane. I think the way he reacted when he saw her gave vibes that he wasn’t attracted to her either but he didn’t want to say it!!!

Zack was not making fun of strippers. He wanted to see whether or not they would look down on him based on his occupation because his mother was a stripper so if they looked down on him saying he was a stripper they would’ve looked down on his entire upbringing which clearly wasn’t easy. He literally explained himself.

I really don't think Zach was making fun of his mom being a stripper, rather what I think is that it is a major insecurity of his so he brought it up as a joke as a way to gauge what the women thought of strippers.

You’re spot on about Kwame. The only reason for him to use a different name like “Alex” is bc he thought it would appeal to white women and they may even assume he’s white. I mean Kwame is a different name but easy to say. Also he wants Micah bc she causes him to feel insecure bc he truly is which makes him question himself and feels he has to prove himself to her and win her over. Ppl need therapy. Meanwhile the actual “good” women (Chelsea, Bliss, etc.) get overlooked and under appreciated.

Irina and Micah are awful human beings. If this is how Frick and Frack act on camera, I can’t imagine how they are in real life interacting with people. This season is so cringey to watch because the majority of the cast are not very likable compared to prior seasons.

Yes!!! He really seems to have problems with his identity. The comment about how his name (Kwame) puts him in a box. What box?? The Black and African box?? Like??? I am not saying that Africans should be wearing Dashiki and animals skin, but out blackness, our Africaness is beautiful and I think it's questionable when you are not proud of it. And in fact try to hide it. Self hate 100%!

I got the impression that he just didn’t want people to automatically know that he’s black based on his name. I got the feeling that he wanted to be “blind” in the way that you don’t know anything about what he looked like before he dropped the hint… whereas Irine was like oh I’m Russian…

I like Marshall, I could really understand Jack. A lot of times in Latino families there’s a female that has the whole world on their shoulders, and if they dare go off and have their own life they get treated like traitors. I don’t know for sure, but I felt like that was why she was freaking out. She was enjoying herself with someone she could have a future with, meanwhile maybe she’s fighting with herself wether she can actually have that, and not be guilted for it.
Someone left a message on another channel and said that she knows Micah personally, and said that she usually goes for the black athletes! And that’s why she was super into Kwame when she first saw him.

The only thing I liked about this season so far is that the people look more average/normal? Otherwise their attitudes are just as bad as the hot people seasons 😂

I am WITH you on really liking Irina at first. When she went full mean girl, I honestly thought I was mixing her up with another girl. But, no, it was all her.
I think Brett’s reaction to Tiffany falling asleep was valid cuz wtf falls into a deep sleep in the pods, and the way she “woke” up 🙄🙄🙄 that was so fake
Based on an interview (Reality Alert) with LC (from I think season 1) and Perfect Match says they’re in there and filming almost 20hrs a day. And the ladies have to prepare earlier for makeup and hair. LC said they can really get exhausted with those hours and 3hrs of sleep a night. Just a back story to why she fell asleep.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but his name is, Alex Kwame Owusu Ansah Appiah. If his name is actually Alex it’s not a fake name. He also gave me some internal hatred vibes / issues in general based on other things he said. But in the end he chose to go with Kwame and not Alex.

It’s sad he thought about it but I’m glad he ended up using Kwame, especially if that it was he normally goes by. Also the pronunciation is correct.

Alex isn't his fake name, it's his actual name. I mean it still has the same purpose of which name he chooses to interact with on the show. Chelsea says his full name during one of the episodes.

Tiffany and Brett are my favourite couple. I loved Bliss she is beautiful smart and a solid lady. Zach messed up he deserved Arina or whatever her name. I loved Chelsea shes so beautiful and an absolute 10! I don't know wtf she's doing with Kwame, does she not see herself? She can bag a really good guy!

Its totally normal and appropriate to be concerned when someone says they are or their mom was a stripper. Its not something anyone would want for their daughter/wife/sister/mother, even if they are doing it for a valid reason to provide for their family it doesn’t make it preferred or without negative consequence.

My take so far. Really horrible personalities on this cast.
I should probably skip the first episode as well. I haven’t watched since season 1 because I ;just can’t get through the boring first episodes of each season. I know it gets better but that first one is such a snore fest I just v can’t do it.

Great recap and loved your analysis on Brett’s reaction to Tiffany when he didn’t know she feel asleep. It was definitely jarring and a little bit of a red flag but your guess about him possibly relating the sudden disappearance to him possibly being fearful of forced abandonment got me thinking! Also, for Zach, I believe he’s truly just a weird quirky kind of guy who is appreciative of the sacrifices his mother made which is why he became a criminal defense attorney. I see it as many sex workers are criminalized for their lack of access to adequate living and his mother possibly faced some hard times similar - possibly influencing his career. Him saying he was a stripper was yes odd and cringe but I think he thought that was a way to gauge people’s reaction to what many deem as immoral so he could know if said person was a fit for him. I like Zach and Paul and wish the best for them. Irina and Micah are absolute trash.

I've never seen someone's interpretations be so wrong even when the person in question explain themselves and it makes sense perfect sense based on their experience.
I got halfway through the first episode but found the cast very off-putting. Sob stories, corny connections, forced "validation" of each other's feelings. Not sold just yet, maybe your recaps will change my mind, Grace!

Agree with everything except for your view of Marshall. Marshall legit gave me covert narcissist vibes, or something close to that. A wolf in sheep's clothing. I didn't like his reaction and anger towards Josh at ALL. I wouldn't be surprised if we see him lose that mask of a kind, emotional mask and turn angry and abusive at some point. I guess we'll see.
