  • Whilst installing this radio I thought a video would be helpful for others. It's a little rough but I think provides some key detail that many doing the same would like to know. Some handy resources provided below - if I have time I'll write a short guide on my blog at a later date.
I fitted this radio using the Connects2 kit that included everything for full functionality. The onboard computer works, reverse camera works, steering wheel controls and bluetooth controls.

Hi Chris, Great video! very helpful as i'm about to replace my Civic head unit. The cabling for the steering controls for the (4:00) answering the phone, where does this originate? i see you've run it to the bluetooth module in the glovebox, it's not obvious to me where the cabling is from.

    • @chr15b

The connection was removed from the bluetooth module above the glovebox. At that timestamp I'm showing how I connected it to the Connects2 harness.

Hi Chris, big thanks for the video, its really helpful for me replacing the headunit for the first time, have you tried to connect the original reverse camera from the small dash monitor to your new sony radio? I am tempted to try it out but would like to seek some advice beforehand, many thanks in advance

Awesome video. I'm going to upgrade my Civic stereo as it's pants. I am going to buy the stereo fascia from Aliexpress, but it states 9 inch. The 2 din stereo is 7 inch. Can you tell me if that thin surround 5:35 comes with the stereo, or did you purchase it separately? And did you find a better looking surround? Thanks mate!

Hi mate, how does this work with the I-Mid? I've heard that the clock can no longer be set with an after market HU. The MPG functionality/history also effected? It's the only thing stopping me from going for an aftermarket HU. I have a 2013 EX Cheers!
