- My little grungy heart is beating a little faster today than on other days. It finally arrived!
I have SCORCHED TIMBER, the final distress color by Ranger Ink & Tim Holtz on my desk! I would like to swatch this color with you today and I also wanna take the chance to use scorched timber as an example of how I organize my collection of Ranger mediums in my craft room. I’d throw that mini ink pad away. When I first bought my inks I was carrying my whole collection of mini inks and dropped them. Had no idea what color was which.

Luise, this method seems like a perfect organizational method for those of us with ADHD-I have to be able to see what I have. If it isn’t visible, it disappears from my mental inventory. That’s why boxes and bins are so unhelpful. I also love how each color is organized according to medium so you know exactly where the oxide spray is vs. the oxide ink, etc. it’s great for inventory as well. You are brilliant!

You have a very pretty and organized craft area. It is truly amazing. I can hardly believe that this super great organization was done by the same artist who put her journals in the washing machine and boiling water! Holy moly!

Thanks to you I totally reorganized my ranger products! I have all 72 ink pads and just started adding the oxides. I kept all my ink pads in a 12x12 container, my sprays in a separate bin as well as the reinker. All in different places in my studio. Watched you a few weeks ago when you were swatching and realized I needed to gather all of my ranger products by color! Found the perfect zip lock bags online that hold all of the products by color. Placed those bags in 4 12x12 cases (without the lids) and now I can grab all products by color!, thanks so much for sharing. Just got the Thinlits to make mini file folders and am now swatching like you. Thinking of using all the types of mediums per color has been revolutionary for me. Using much more of what I already purchased over the years.

Oh my gosh I love your organizational system so much. I use my inks a lot but often forget about all the other mediums I’ve collected. I want to organize like this now. In addition to being functional, it’s also a beautiful rainbow to look at!

I do love the concept of keep colors together in color wheel order for all mediums. I have paint together, glasses together, inks together. I must re-do my medium storage to color first. Love it - thank you. This will make choice easier. I also tend to buy what I think I don't have, then have too many duplicates. This color system would reduce my duplicate purchases. I had done this with my beads & never thought to do it with other mediums. Now how do you organize the various papers?

Luise - I must be a freak too, because I think the organization and display of all your products is absolutely gorgeous!! At my very first glimpse the thought “oh my - what eye candy” popped into my head! I too often think of my inanimate objects as having feelings lol! Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh Luise this was a real giggle watching how excited you were to get Scorched TIMber. It is indeed the perfect colour for you. I hope that you have made your second order as I can see this becoming a much used colour and will need replacing over and over 😅. Your storage system made a lot of sense for your small space too. You are right that the wall above your desk is eye candy. It will be interesting to see what you do if you decide to get more stain ink pads though because what you already have had filled the shelves 😊. It is amazing how you can get so much creativity done in such a small area. Looking forward to seeing the first project you create with your newest mediums.

Love scorched timber! Your shelves and organization by color is awesome. I feel for you when you were shuffling all the oxide and ink pads and then couldn’t keep the one color together. Hopefully you will get used to it ! It never seems to work out just perfectly!

I've never been a big fan of the orange tones in colors like Vintage Photo, when I'm distressing edges, etc.
I friggin' love this new, deep, rich 'brown', and all its moody undertones. Now my Walnut Stain & Ground Espresso have some serious competition. lol! I can't wait 'til my check comes. I need some re-inkers. But I think I need Scorched Timber ink & oxide even MORE!! 🤩
