This instrument and this song are otherworldly and ethereal. It takes me out of my physical place and makes me feel like I am in some kind of hazy blissful dream utopia. This is going to be an instrument I use in my future ambient/techno music.
Something about how it sounds just pulls you back into a time in your life when you were a child ans everything was alright. Mom held your hand, dad always played games and ran around the yard with you in his strong arms, and you felt so safe with your family...

I believe she recorded the audio and video separately. I have the same kalimba as her (gecko k17cap) and it’s pretty quiet (its base is a board, not a box) and it has no plug area. I’m guessing for the audio she played the kalimba next to a quality microphone and then slightly enhanced the sounds in her editing program. I could be wrong though.

Kalimbas are getting a surge of interest right now. There are a number of Chinese companies making very affordable and good quality kalimbas, and they're advertising on fb and u assume other platforms. I encourage you to get one for yourself :3
