Hi BCblue I’m in Queens. This is my first convertible. I no longer have a house. Downsized to an apt. So no garage anymore lol. I just park it outside. I’ll put a cover on it for the snow. But I intend to drive it when the roads are clear. It’s our 3rd car. So I can always drive the other 2 as needed. Good luck!
Terrific sports car, but probably not ideal as a first sports car if you're on a tight budget. The price of these things may have come down, but the price of Porsche spare parts and maintenance has not. 987s are now getting close to 20 years old, and there will be plenty of wear and tear items that need replacement. But if you can afford the upkeep, 987 Boxsters are very rewarding cars to own and drive.
Thanks! I’m basically using the channel as a video diary, with occasional videos that I think will appeal to some people. Not looking to grow it or anything :)
Thanks, John. I am in the market for a boxster now. I previously owned a 996 that was a great car. Looks like you are in New Jersey or New York? How do you protect the car from the salted roads in the winter?
Hi! I’m in Queens. I protect it with a small half cover for those days of snow and salt. Otherwise, I just park it outside and drive it whenever it’s good weather. I don’t have a garage. That’s why I don’t have a newer Boxster. LOL.
Ok, I got exactly what you said to avoid. I got a 2006 boxster S . automatic, and it was under 15k.1 owner only, than me. I drive top down year round and no storing it away for winter. Can't really push it in high speed, because you'll run out of ROAD! Aloha from Hawaii! note ... don't want to be driving too fast, bikinis are getting smaller and that back bikinis views are hazardous . Keeping eyes on the road becomes secondary!
It's perfect if you've got money to burn. Almost pulled the trigger on one 14 years ago but decided on a Honda S2000 instead. One of the best decisions I ever made.
It is the perfect last sports car as well........
100%
Thanks for that!
Great color combination.
I had four boxers all great all years maintenance is key
Thanks, good advice

3.15 - Flat 6, not a V6. Great cars, and some say more reliable than the S.
Yes flat 6. I caught that as soon as I said it lol. I don’t usually do videos for other viewers lol. I upload mostly for use as my own diary :)
The YT algorithm has blessed you, kind CZcamsr.
It’s fried eggs headlights not scrambled eggs, sigh.

i do have to say early boxters like the 987/986 do have many problems sometimes like eletrical ect
Give you 1 reason why it isn’t the perfect 1st sports car : 986 😊
987.2 is the perfect first sports car with the 987.1 possibly a better buy if you keep on top of maintenance.
The "S" is worth it!
The s is double the price now
Perhaps the next one:)
Or upsize to a 911

The 986 S is by far the better option 👍
