Don't worry guys. As an owner of h'ness, I personally vouch that tall gearing is not a issue. These people review different bikes every week. So that's why they pointed it out. You just need to get used to that kind of riding. That's all! Yes, I never use the 5th gear in the city. But I am still getting a 40+kmpl. Loving it!

I Have Been A Royal Enfield owner for almost 7 years straight down the line in these 7 years I used 4 classic 350,1 standard 500,1 standard 350 ,last month I drove home a Honda cb 350 because of the awkward horn position of Honda I was thinking that the bike is not so engaging to ride and handle but trust me,the moment I got use to the horn position there is no going back to royal Enfield now, it it butter smooth,it accelerates better, it handles better, brakes far better than Royal Enfield, and so far 2000kms.clocked on the cluster and I have zero complaints,Kudos to team Honda for making such an amazing product.

90% of RE owners change parts or install accessories for better looks, thump , features...but honda sticks to its basics and don't promote too much accessories...because they respect raw factory designs and their R&D team

      @megatrn9976 Před 2 lety +21

What do you expect, lol. The bike itself is scarcely available, why would third party manufacturer make accessories for it. Don't get me wrong, but RE owners modify their bikes because parts are easily available. Whereas for honda, you'll have to either buy online at a considerably higher price or you have to contact some big retailers if any are around you by chance.

I have test ridden both the bikes for a fair amount of time. The Honda definitely feels more agile (almost like my G310R) in the city however it’s gear ratios take away some fun of riding a long stroke motor. You need to constantly change the gears just like my G310R. It feels like a modern bike in retro clothes.
The new Classic has a big bike feel and even though it’s heavy it’s very easy to ride and the stability it provides at 0 speeds is exceptional - one just doesn’t need to put the feet down at sub-5 speeds even with a pillion. Add to that the ease at which it potters around at relatively higher gears makes it a complete retro package.
The Honda has a cushier ride (especially for the pillion) but the Classic feels more stable at higher speeds.
Both bikes are great in their own way but for me the Classic feels more than the sum of its parts 😍

RE is a Lifestyle product, you have to add a story and carry the weight of legacy. Being a legend in this segment. You will get all the admiration for its looks size and the macho feel. You have to maintain it well to keep yourself happy.
CB (city bike) is actually looking like a "super commuter". But don't have to carry the weight of legacy, it is a simple bike with all the necessary features to be a modern classic, with exceptionally good handling and reliability.

Classic 350 is a cramped bike...it's a bike that make u feel cramped on the handle.
However the Honda CB 350 is a free flowing vehicle with and superior engine and refinement..thing is you have to get used to the tall gearing ..after that it's a butterfly at ghats ..good road..bad road.
I urge every one to take a test ride of all the bikes in this segment before buying as at the end of the day its ur had earned money 🙏🙏🙏 don't fall for paid reviews

Once you test ride that Honda, there's no going back to the Enfield showroom.
So comfortable, such appropriate weight and its distribution, such good mileage, mine does 37 in city (my Meteor does 32), and woah the performance. The highness is ever ready with its torque to go bananas. Cruising at 60 feels effortless at 4th gear, but 4th can go to 120. Lol. 5th gear is strictly for cruising and the mileage goes 45 on highway. The all LED setup makes it modern while that chrome in all the right places and its sound makes it all the more attractive. Also.. the Highness turns heads and makes people ask me whether its a 650cc bike or what.. lol.

I have owned a Classic 350 and a 500. Been only riding Royal Enfield since 1982. But IMO the CB350 H'ness is a clear winner. To me peace of mind, low maintenance & reliability is more important than 'British Heritage' and that sort of hype. I wish Honda brought out a 500cc twin styled on the same lines as the H'ness.

this is the most UNBIASED & INFORMATIVE REVIEW for both the bikes i have ever seen till now in youtube.
otherwise most of the reputed channels are inclined towards re classic only, as if they have been bribed or they are too emotional towards the brand.
However, REVIEWS of AUTOCAR INDIA have always been UNBIASED, INFORMATIVE & VERY USEFUL to the consumers and viewers.
on pen and paper, H’ness tops the list as it has more technical features and bigger in size than re classic.
but re has good amount of customisation available.
    h’ness - premium retro
    classic - old school

Honda must change the headlight unit borrowed from cb300. Also seat must be redesigned and the handle bar end weight too. RE has really done a good job with toggle switch that provides access to information at the digital display. And another must are accessories from OEM where Honda has few. Honda has made a good decision to sell there CBs from Bigwing, in my opinion, for the sake of experience, though accessibility is compromised. Those Bluetooth and TC Tech should also be removed or provided as accessories for better price. Honda is an old player in our market so better product at better price are expected. I’ll wait for next Highness though. A little more power will enhance the experience.
