Awesome, any idea what layers those cliffs are comprised of?

Um... best as I can tell its all sedimentary sand stone layers. The next day we get up closer to them a bit more. Also some cool looking coal deposits further down, (day 2). And some "contemporary'" Petroglyphs.

Haha Day 2 the wind picked up at the end of the day, it was so strong I couldn't control the Canoe at times.

Hey, can you tell me a little about your canoe? What is the brand, how heavy, and how small does it pack down to?

Hey there @swalker723! Yea its a Pakboat "150" or a 15ft. The Brand is Pakboat, they are out of New Hampshire. I was on the fence till I messaged with the infamous Cliff Jakobson and he raved about them. It is light just at 50#, so not a light as a Kevlar one maybe. But it can go inside and airplane. I got it so I could travel with it if I wanted (I always travel with a boat these days) It packs down to the size of a large duffle maybe 3'H x 2'W kinda round in shape when packed. It seems to perform really well. Like other packable boats (inflatable IKs) it flexes in the waves. So this means you can load it according to the water you are running. Weigh down the ends for flat water, or center load it for White water and the hull will make more or less rocker. It also tends to flex up and over most waves rather than punching through and taking on water.. Its as durable as any good IK on the market which is to say pretty stout. Out in Colorado we run inflatables all over and down some tough rivers. I'd take this boat on any hard adventure. Also it is Really Really easy to patch in the field compared to a hard fiber boat.

@@ivanoutdoors awesome, thanks for the details! I've seen those at Canoecopia (my local annual paddlesports expo) but I didn't look very closely at them and could not remember the brand. I'll have to check them out next year. A little heavier than I was expecting but seems like it packs down well for travel and sounds like pretty good quality.
