I was the same way. It took a little time to adjust but I'm happy with this layout

The color and finish looks really good on that SE. I was extremely happy with my Neo65 finish. I do wish this was lower front height and 1.6mm PCB but this could be a great work keyboard for those that need numpad.

So you can get tri-mode with RGB and a screen? I thought the website said that wasn't an option but perhaps I read it wrong.
Yes. Tri mode defaults with screen and you get the flex cut rgb hotswap pcb. I just tried it at checkout right now. I didn’t see pvd weight as an option tho might have to order separately?

I just had my QK100, and looking into the Zoom98, I'm relieved I chose QK100. It has thin bezels, and has a much compact design; Zoom98 is closer to a full size keyboard. 😅😊
Yeah same here. The layout around the arrow cluster and the screen just doesn’t look good to me. Glad we’re getting more full size options regardless though. Hope zoom varies up the looks a bit on the next round of boards.
It is indeed very close to being a full size. Believe it or not, there are plans to release the zoom109, which is even a larger keyboard than this 98

I like RGB. If people do not like it, they can just turn it off. Best of both worlds.
TKL is max for me I have never liked using the numpad. Its a nice board

Should've been a real 100%. If the screen can only be 2 u shove it in the top right corner above the numpad instead, or let it stay and let it be 1 key + screen.
I love the keychron v5, the q5 pro, the odin v2, the wind 98x, the qk100...
But this is really just killed the chance of zoom making a 'compact w. numpad' (96% / 98% / 1800) while saving literally the min space to not just be a normal full size 100%
The full right shift layout looks so ugly to me. Either go full full size or be compact. Still a nice looking board besides that for me.

I'd probably be in for a Zoom 100 with the standard layout. Don't see the point of shaving off one column like that.
Yeah, just add a proper knob next to the screen or make the screen 3U. Also, having the screen on the Zoom75, it's pretty much just a gimmick. I don't even plug the keyboard in so a lot of the CPU GPU temperature and fan speed will not work. Battery indicator looks a bit cartoonish, maybe make that page monochrome is going a lot better. The gifs drops frame on my board, though I found that cycling through the different pages force the gif to run fine. Overall, I don't care for the screen as much as I ordered the board.
we need BIGGER, we need the 1 to 1 gamer keyboard layout 100% with a nav cluster and arrowkeys, numpad, and a macro row to the left lmao, and probably a knob/roller to the top of the numpad

I just cant appreciate the design. It felt like a bunch of "popular" elements added to a keyboard just to make it seems appealing. Maybe I just appreciate a more simplicity asaesthetic
most likely. But we've been missing more flare in a budget keyboard for a while now. The last time I could remember so many aesthetic features was something like the KBDfans Blade65 and 5 Degrees. Everything after those have been fairly minimal for good reasons but we need some more flare for those who like it honestly. The zooms are definitely more wild in aesthetics so its not gonna be for everyone. I really disliked all of the zooms in terms of aesthetics as well.
Okay, I know that its all pref at the end of the day but I am tired of "reviewers" saying that foam sucks or maybe a nicer way to put this is all of you do this thing when explaining effects on sound, where you lean into those configs as a negative.. Depending on the board, it really is not a flat out negative. I also prefer a clean sound without foam or minimal amounts but there is no shame in using foam. Honestly I pref the QK100 with the alexotos mod (only mid foam in the bottom of case) and seriously sounds wayyy better than the zoom. I really wanted to like this board but I think its a pass for me. Just me. If you all like it, I am not trying to change your minds at all. Just saying.. use foam, seriously when it works, you'll be mega surprised.
Most people don't necessarily think foam sounds 'bad'. However, foam diminishes the impact of case design, plate material, mounting method and switch choice on the sound profile of the keyboard. Boards which use lots of foams tend to sound quite similar, so its understandable why some people dislike foam and find it boring (but not necessarily bad) sounding.
I wrote an explanation as to why it would seem better to me if reviewers see it as a way to be more critical of the design instead of just saying its mid to use it or that they prefer not to, and then give some short lame reason without showing an actual comparison. That orig reply was too long so I shortened my point. I think it could help provide a more realistic expectation for viewers/hobbyists and not only that but I feel like it is the duty of the reviewer to show, not just tell. Nothing actually bad on Andy's part necessarily.. love the vids man, just wish you would dive into the why a little bit more?
Oh I’ve used foam before. And I’ve explained in most videos why I typically don’t use it. It changes the sound signature towards a specific sound. I just don’t wanna go into it every single time. This sounded great without foam and I think that is what we need to focus on. Foam is used as a seasoning not a main ingredient.
@@AndyVNguyen Agreed 100 and yea, theres content on it out there, from you and many others. Just saying that it gets tiring hearing it from reviewers without showing the diff in configs. I've even been guilty of just showing off the no foam build in my videos and not comparing, which is why I started streaming so both teams can see the diff. Regardless, like AD said, we know its not viewed as "bad" but i've also gotten many newcomers ask me "why should I not use the foam? is it bad?" and my so my thoughts immediately go to content creator responsibility.. myself included

Not going to lie, this looks like an ugly board especially considering how beautiful and diverse the qk100 is. There is no reason to choose this over the qk100 right now, I got the Keychron Q5 and I would definitely upgrade to the qk100.
What makes a qk100 diverse, what does that even mean
I love everything about the QK100 but it didn't have RGB. Plus, I love the sideglow on the Zoom98. I often work in the dark and RGB is the most low light way I can see my keys when necessary. Plus I just like the look of having RGB. Not sure what you mean by diverse but the qk100 is defeinitely a great board no doubt.

Im gonna guess the screen they have is a standard size. A 3u screen prob changes the price by a lot
