Coming from the wooting 60HE I really liked this laid back review and am also glad to know that hopefully these issues are being addressed. More competition is always good, and this board looks and sounds incredibly premium. It's not cheap but if you were to try and mod your wooting to the same sound and feel standard it would be even more expensive than this Meletrix. I should know, I've tried😂. Unfortunately I don't see anything yet I'd ever switch my wooting for, it's just a much nicer user experience from a software perspective. Seems like every board that comes out trying to capitalize on the Hall Effect craze has these little kinks that still have to be worked out or worked around and the Wooting implementation is just that much more mature. I've had it for a year and I've legitimately never had a single software or hardware issue even running the EA beta versions of their configurator. I do think that companies like Meletrix, KBDfans, and Keychron coming out with HE boards is very exciting and hopefully will drive up quality and drive down costs across the board and perhaps incentivize Wooting themselves to be a bit more accessible. They just really have to get it right before they get written off like the EGG, Polar, etc because they rushed to market before taking the time to do it right.

I feel this I see new HE Boards every week but the boog was the only one that really interested me aside from the wooting. and now that wooting 80he is dropping the gap will be wider

@@YokaiRay Yeah, although personally while the 80HE having 8k is nice I don't really think it's a noticeable difference for most. The wooting's latency is already on the floor. Unfortunately for the metal case 80HE you'll be shelling out $300 and that's a big premium on the aluminum cases at $220, the meletrix and the keychron. They just don't have the scale and the connections that more experienced builders do. I mean the Keychron uses literally all the same components as the Q1 they just made a hall effect pcb for it. So they save a lot of development costs that wooting just spent custom designing their own case in multiple materials and colors. The big thing for me about Wooting is the clear passion and flexibility to listen to community feedback. They mid-production changed the 80HE layout due to community feedback and continue to update wootility with new community requested features. The keyboard worked amazing when i got it and it has literally gotten even more powerful since simply by them continually listening to features that people ask for. That kind of company is all too rare.
