Unfortunately, it’s already going electric. 2024 is their last production year for the non-electric GT.
I say bring on the electric, maybe at all four corners. 1200hp with the a/c motor's instant torque would be perfect! Some like to sound fast, others actually want to go fast.

I’m not even a BMW guy, but I’m in love with that M8 Comp. For my purposes, it checks all the boxes. It’s one of the few attractive BMWs left.

I knew the M8 is faster but the way that Bentley is holding up, the motor, the luxury and comfort that as been displayed makes me want to buy it even more! Great video💯

My dad had two V12 Benz when I was growing up (an S600 and a CL600). The S600 with the M120 was our fav - same engine put in Pagani Zonda. That car made me realize how special a V12 is. The top end speed, the smoothness, and they're quiet but sound so good. I remember him drag racing at stop lights... People were so impressed and all wanted to see what a V12 can do. Engine was a rocket ship. The CL was a stunner, it had the M137. Nice car but that turned out to be a lemon. Rest easy pops, I miss you ❤
the bentley moves insane for how heavy it is. the M8 comp is a really underrated car as well - its really expensive but a cool car
Its not underrated. But it is designed to give you raw speed and brute force. The "competition" designation means its a bar bones car that removes most of the creature comforts the Bentley retains. Remember, the Bentley Speed is not a stripped down car.
@@krane15M8 Competition has just a little more power and suspension updates, wheels, different trim and exhaust. There is no lack of luxury, not stripped down or something. Competition comes with an exclusive leather package as standard, which has to be ordered separately for a standard M8.
W12 is not about instant pushing to the limit. It means a constant and gradual gain to its aim and achievement its objectives. Continental GT Speed is a very special car.

Dinan (Carbahn now) offer 900HP upgrade to the M8 for $8K....does 9.8 in the 1/4.
You can do the same for a fraction of the price, like a quarter of the price

@@chrism869the m8 is dogshit buddy. It has never been an appropriately priced vehicle nor one that received top praise from any journalist. Just compare the Audi RS7 PERFORMANCE to the m8 Gran coupe and it's embarrassing. There's a reason the m8 has the worst depreciation in its class

Bentley looks better, is more well equipped on the interior and has a twin turbo W12. It may have lost but that car is a big W.

These are amazing (but expensive) luxury heavyweights! I'm still waiting for Edmunds to run the Model S Plaid with the Track Package. Not to compare with these cars, but just to get the numbers down. Run the Plaid against the impressive BMW M5 CS.

It’s crazy how the Bentley kept up being so heavy and luxurious! We all know BMW figures are underrated 617hp on paper but prob closer to 640 dyno hahaha. I’ll just wait for Bentley to depreciate I want 1 ❤

I would love to see the M8 go up against its biggest rivals, the AMG GT63s and the RS7. I’ve heard that the AMG GT is the fastest, but I’m starting to think the M8 is undefeated.
There are videos on other channels. Search ang GT63s vs M8. Carwow does a great job and has raced them multiple times
carwow did one but its not accurate. M8 gran coupe struggled compared to its old time and the GT63S had engine problems not delivering all its torque until the very last race.

M8 Competition has taken the Mercedes in a couple of German channels and in a couple other British channels.

What I would like to see is the M8 competition vs the Aston Martins V12 GT that should be a closer race since Aston’s aren’t as heavy as Bentley.

Ionic 5N weight 4961, M8 C weight 4295, Continental GT Speed weight 5011…all on the lightest end.
You can call the M8 comp heavy, But 0-60 in 2.7 seconds is proof that BMWs LC, AWD and trans systems work beautifully together at launch. Not quite Porsche but on its way.
I'm with you for sure on the Bentley, was very surprised see the BMW win Bentley horse power, most likely the BMW twin turbo gives that little extra swift. On top gear one time seen a Mercedes up against if I recall a Porsche ? I think, would require going back reviewing shows to confirm, it's the race was also film on a airstrip runway race in pouring rain if I recall, it was some time ago on tv, the merc won

The M8C numbers on this two races were below its normal performance. The 11 seconds 1/4 mile is slow for a car that can repeatedly do 10.7-10.8. The same goes for the 0-60 numbers; but, it took both wins anyway.

Now besides my previous comment, which would I choose if I could afford both the car and the maintenance? Super tough call. I'm one of the few it seems that adores the M8 Comp Coupe, would I rather have it over the original, unreleased M8? Doubtful. Would I choose it over my own spec'd Conti GT Speed? Also probably doubtful.... the Continental Speed is just too damn cool, even if I'd rather have a regular wheelbase Bentley Mulsanne just because of the pimp factor 😅

I'm definitely not sleeping on the 8 series. Considering Mercedes loves piano black and cheap plastics in this latest generation, I will be buying a last gen mercedes or switching to the 8 series which I feel is the only good looking BMW inside and out.
I have a '20 M5 competition, and BMW definitely sandbags the power numbers. On the road it shows, not many gas burning cars want that business. I'm two years into ownership as of today, STILL always blown away by the performance.
Imagine how fast the new 2024 M5 is.
@@Carcrazetvv that remains to be seen. I'm concerned because BMW has quoted a curb weight of 5200 lbs. That's 1000 pounds heavier, and on paper only adding about 100 horsepower. Right now the rumors are 719 horsepower. I could get a Dinan stage 1 tune and have 750 WHP or more. I don't understand adding that much weight for a mild plug-in hybrid.

Agree, I have '21 M5 Comp and CarWow dyno the M5 and showed it was putting out 650hp.
PS Jury still out for me on the new 2025 M5; I am not too crazy about the front end design and the weight (weighs more than the full blown EV BMW i5).

The amount of luxury is no where near close man. I've been in Bentleys, driven an Audi S8, BMW 7 series and own a new S580. The Mercedes crushes the other 2 in luxury and even the Mercedes isn't as luxurious as the Bentley. Bentley and Rolls are entire brands devoted to the utmost luxury. The GTC is just their 2 seater version with some extra power, buddy just got one and it's great for what it is but you compare it to an M8. BMWs entire brand is about being a driving machine, always ready for a track. Almost opposite of the Bentley brand

That's not what a Bentley is designed to do. It uses sophistication to get up to speed. Not brute force. In harness racing the goal is to trot, not run.
