- I have played a ton of resident evil 4 randomizers in my day, so i decided to make it harder, a lot harder, by only using whatever weapon i start with, this time its the punisher

While the Punisher doesn't have high damage, even fully upgraded, it is still respectable considering it's perfect for piercing through the wooden shields the Zealots and militia enemies carry. Better to have enemies lined up and grouped up tightly as possible for the best results.
While there were better options as far as the handguns went, you really can't deny how effective the ability to pierce multiple enemies and their wooden shields is.
Best part about this game in my opinion. Every gun even starter guns are 100% viable in some way

I've always thought the Punisher was an underrated gun. It may not do damage like the Red 9, but it's saved me so much time and ammo against groups of enemies in the early-mid game.
I knew it was a shitty weapon for mid and late game after seeing my older sister get stuck on the giant salazar statue section because the gun was so weak that she arrived with little ammo and spent it all there and it wasn't enough (she was also bad at playing)

I love the Punisher!! One of My favorite Pistols in RE4. I just like the Piercing Ability too much as it sometimes can get you out of a Bind. I rate it a 8/10
I never fully used the punshier myself, but I gotta say that's a pretty fair roll in my opinion
The punisher is pretty great tbh, mostly because of how satisfying it is to line up enemies and take them all out with its penetration thing. Red9 is still top dog tho

Fun fact: the gray room glitch happens when the camera doesnt load the background textures, as none of the models have their own texture, i think anyways, if forgot specifics but ocarina of time uses this same trick to save memory in castle town and basically a rotating texture map is what keeps the models distinguishable. Without it e v e r y object would be gray void.
(Im not using *any* proper terms here, but i think i remember hearing thats how the maps work.)
i just beat my first playthrough while maining the punisher, I loved the piercing effect and tried to line up enemies to get double headshots all the time
The Punisher is the best handgun for the vanilla game imo. I always use it. Cam get it for free with a free upgrade, and the fact it can shoot thru shields is a HUGE perk. This gun is slept on hard
Well yes but it has no power, no steadiness, and, no ammo while yes it is useful for shields besides it being a good 18,560 ptas it really is not a good handgun like the Red9, Blacktail, and starting Handgun.
i always sell this gun, but this is making me rethink its uses.

The punisher's lack of damage just doesn't make it viable. Other weapons are better for crowd control and the rifle shreds through enough bodies. It is fun as hell though if you're purposefully avoiding certain weapons for a personal challenge.
i like punisher for crowd control in the castle , punish them in a group then switch to shotgun if you have to

he makes a few other rules like he can use the striker for the glitch running but nothing else.
I think the point is to focus on the challenge of beating the enemies with just one gun. The Striker glitch only really improves movement speed, so for someone who speed runs, it makes sense to allow some glitches allowing you to run faster, since it doesn’t really increase the challenge too much, (although I guess you could argue it does when he can run past enemies faster than normal)

@@montanafromthamill He said he couldnt *use* picked up weapons. Using a weapon in this case being to point and fire it at an enemy.

The Punisher absolutely whips ass at crowd scenes like the cabin, just gotta line 'em up and each shot counts for as many dudes as you can get in a row. Also the water room, those shielded dickheads don't stand a chance if you just pop their heads right off.

To prove it, I'm going to beat Resident Evil 4 Randomizer with nothing but the Silver Ghost (starting pistol).
For Salazar couldn't you kill the spiders for ammo drops? Also in the final boss does attacking the middle eye actually do anything? I've tried and failed to kill him by only attacking that one eye.
I used the Punisher the whole game since I bought it.. I just like it
Its good but blacktail is the jack of all trades high firepower and takes up less space

I only use the silver ghost now bc it’s my favorite gun in the game. But my first play through I used the punisher bc it was free and I assumed since it was a reward it was better

I never understood from the over 10 years that I played re4 2005 off and on what the penetration power meant for the punisher and never used it until re4 remake came out and I found out it can shoot through enemies into another one and I still don’t use it

I have to play some sections at 30fps anyways. On professional the boulders seem unbeatable without 30FPS, I'm guessing the boulder speed is FPS based?
As a mercernaries player, the punisher is N.2 on my list of best pistol.

Kind of funny how the Blacktail is basically the worst handgun despite being the most well rounded, simply because it doesn't have a unique niche.
I used mainly the punisher for my first playthrough of resident evil 4 remake I think what I loved about the gun was that it was brown I don't know I just really like weapons that are brown like the scar

Hmm… idk… Using the ditman glitch seems a bit cheap… had this been a normal non-randomised run, the Striker, therefore, the ditman glitch surely wouldn’t have even been considered.
I’m not saying you can’t do that- it’s your video so do what you want- but I do personally feel a little misled and that title sure does feel clickbaity…

The punisher is the FN 5.7.....has ridiculous penetration. That perk it has in the game is a nod to the round in real life. They did their research.
Not so much the gun itself but the cartridge. If they did their homework the Five Seven wouldn’t use the same “handgun” rounds as a Mauser C96 or you know, it’s just a game.

Honestly.. apart from The "Elephant" Gun. The Punisher is still the most useful gun in The Whole Game. One of my favourite Go-to guns.
