  • What gets you “in state”? (hit me in the comments 👇)
You just saw me rock out to some Incubus - that gets me “in state” for the gym so my worksout goes better and I enjoy it more.
🔥MAJOR CONCEPT: The actions you take and the results you get in your singing are a direct result of the energetic state you’re in.
Your success as a singer is NOT just about your voice.
For you to be bulletproof, you MUST train your ability to shift your state.
We’re talking about setting the foundations of energy, somatic recall and the mind/body connection so that your voice shows up 150% and you nail it when it counts because you know how to shift your state to do so. Every. Time. 🤯
If you’re ready for that kind of training, I want to invite you to experience it for yourself FOR FREE in our upcoming workshop.
👉 Starting on April 29th, I’m hosting a FREE, 5 day online training event for serious singers who are longing for those foundations to expand the impact and opportunity they can access with their voice.

Arden? I'm watching more of the replays this morning before work! I wanted to say, when I am confronted with a stressful situation, I tend to freeze. For me, the goal of technique is to sing through the succession of pitches and feel that inward pulse, and connect the pulses together in one fluid motion down and out of my abdominals. I know what I need to think of to get my body to do this. As for getting "in state" for me, the answer is two-fold. First, sing purely for the love of music, and be grateful for the opportunity to communicate the ineffable. Secondly, right before I sing, I pray, and ask God to sing through me. Like Maria Callas, I think God is the composer of the music. I think God gave the talent to people like Mozart, and Verdi, and Benjamin Britten, etc. If my focus is on Him, it isn't on my own stage fright. And, the way I see it, He is also present in each and everyone around us, in our potential to grow, and change, and become more like the person He wants us to be! In its way, the phrase "Let it happen" applies to much more than singing alone! My husband has told me that prayer is a form of meditation, and one of the things I have realized is loving Him in everyone around us, regardless if the person loves you back, can give you the strength to deal with whatever may come your way in the future! Take care, Arden! Thanks again for doing this! Love, Susan
