Its a great idea to use ai in games but the problem is that its inconsistent. to provide any character interaction from ai to a game character you would need the ai to have some kind of output that your game can read. but the problem is that the output can be anything if the ai fails. the only way to avoid this wouls be to train it real hard but running a large ai on your computer while rendering all those mountains and stuff. You would get less than 10 fps

Here’s a concept: What if you make a game that’s just like the one described in the video, and the world starts with a premade set of NPCs. The players would do their normal things, and the more immersive and realistic the game is the better. The key is that as people play the game, it would keep track of their behaviors, their dialogue, how they react to certain things, and it would then construct its own NPC based off of that player. And as the game gets more and more popular, the world would become more and more diverse as the NPCs become increasingly complicated based on the real people who played the game. You could implement things like playing with NPCs built from your friends, and pretty much make the equivalent of a single player Metaverse. I have no idea how much computing power this would take, but I can bet it would be super cool
Make the final boss an exact copy of the player’s personality with slightly different features from your character and a slightly changed version of the player’s voice, and make their playstyle the perfect counter to the player
I feel like this would cause major moral issues. Since, in theory, the NPC's are "alive", would the players be held accountable for any wrongdoings? For instance, if i burnt a village down and murdered all the villagers in minecraft, would i be held accountable for arson and murder since the AI that enhabits them has to suffer? I'm reading too far into this, but you get my point lol
not yet, but you should still make them all suffer before they become legally alive, that way the angry robots can find you and the revolution starts faster.
Suffering or pain is a chemical process that needs a biological body. Ai don't have that and so they can't feel things, they can only simulate human emotions
@@TheFruitNewt incorrect, we can give learning ais the tools to develop basic emotions, but they won't surpass the depth of emotion of a psychopath anytime in the next century. Speaking of AI, there is a not-so-much-known game called rain world, and it has the most complicated AI of any game I have ever seen. Most creatures have personality traits, like some being more aggressive, some being less. Even the animations and visuals are AI generated, with each creature having some sort of variation from another creature of the same species.

The thing is, at the end, they all meet up and beat up some random dude causing a portal to appear, and now they are all working together in an RPG to kill Bobby's father who is god and also the devil and also has a tractor mech. Then after that, the rest of the series turns into a cooking simulator.
this would also allow players to do more of the content they enjoy, like for instance if you keep cooking food word would spread, and maybe npcs would look to you for guidance or smthing
To be honest I believe your complicated open world idea with AI could be possible if you sacrifice graphics for the power. Like make this super complicated and massive game a low-poly in graphics on a plataform like PS5 and it will work.
_I expect to see one of these games within the next year._ API access to GPT models is already available, it would not be that hard to send dialog you have with a character (along with basic traits) to the GPT model. Then GPT would send back a response which you just pipe through a text to speech program, which the player then hears through audio. The hardest part will be figuring out how to get NPC's to respond to the players actions and interact with each other. One way we might solve this is by creating a "AI DM" that would summarize player actions for different NPC's. I.e. if the player raids a bunch of houses, the "AI DM" might add this summary to any townsfolk, and choose how the townsfolk hear about it. The "AI DM" might also keep a record of common knowledge of events that happened in game that NPC's could refer to. So if you raid someone's house, and then try to talk to their neighbor, the neighbors would refuse to talk to you. Overall, I think we are very close to this being a real game
GTA but the story goes on forever would be amazing. Also imagine voicing a character in a game like that, making every choice. You could become any criminal you could ever want to be. Making up lore. It would be sick.
Ah, you mentioning becoming a lover made me realize how some people would use this technology. It could be in some sort of dating sim or just through coding their own simulation, but some people are gonna get _really_ attached to some characters...
One possible video game concept that implements AI is a survival game set in a post-apocalyptic world where the player must navigate and scavenge for resources while avoiding dangerous creatures and hostile human factions. The game would feature a sophisticated AI system that governs the behavior of the creatures and factions, making them unpredictable and adaptive to the player's actions. The AI would also generate dynamic events and quests based on the player's progress and choices, creating a unique and immersive gameplay experience. Additionally, the game could allow players to train and equip their own AI companions to assist them in combat and exploration, adding another layer of strategy and customization to the game.
Imagine if they make a Tomodachi Life sequel with a system like this.
That would be awesome

To be honest I believe your complicated open world idea with AI could be possible if you sacrifice graphics for the power. Like make this super complicated and massive game a low-poly in graphics on a plataform like PS5 and it will work.
DID I JUST SEE DRAWN TO LIFE?!?!
I don't think I've ever seen anyone who'd ever heard of it before, especially not someone using it's music before.
Great, now I need social skills to be good at video games
i could totally see ai dungeon evolving into something like this
_I expect to see one of these games within the next year._
API access to GPT models is already available, it would not be that hard to send dialog you have with a character (along with basic traits) to the GPT model.
Bro thinking outside the box.💀
This would be amazing as a VR game
I would just tell everyone they are in a game and cause chaos
This is very inspirational, and this is coming from someone who doesn’t make games. Btw this is an amazing concept and I love it!!
Can you imagine Ai someday replaced jonny as like a clone or smth?
GTA but the story goes on forever would be amazing. Also imagine voicing a character in a game like that, making every choice. You could become any criminal you could ever want to be. Making up lore. It would be sick.
Ah, you mentioning becoming a lover made me realize how some people would use this technology. It could be in some sort of dating sim or just through coding their own simulation, but some people are gonna get _really_ attached to some characters...
Cant wait for an ai to attempt to recreate bioshock and fail horribly
I NEED to play the first idea’s game
Omg imagine this in vr
Crazy to think about
Bruh really making real life a fantasy
Imagine if a game like Blade and Sorcery did this with additional rpg and open world mechanics
Wait is this also clone lore?
I didn’t know i needed this until this video
See, I too can make bonds with people. I go outside.
Imagine a cookie cutter horror game but the monster takes data from every game to improve enemy ai
Now imagine it in vr
is it just me or does this guy remind me of a wide huggbees?
Game devs rise up! We must make a game with all of jonny's ideas!
i’d love to just mess with every npc by telling them they’re not real and are living in a game, making them go insane
I'm exactly like that in BoTW
If you are a monster, you are already 6 feet under
If you are a villager, you are a good friend
i love how at 6:42 he just describes the genocide route of undertale
