I know everyone in the story praises Sun Breathing as the best breathing style to be coveted... but knowing Yoriichi, he probably thought that everyone else was amazing for having unique bodies optimized for other movement patterns and preferences.
To Yoriichi it all came naturally, so I imagine he was definitely impressed by the hard work of his peers.
You can see his absolute acceptance in the story itself, when he's officially banned from the Demon Slayer Corps after his brother becomes a demon. He still considers everyone a friend, even If they don't want him around.
Tanjiro definitely embodies Yoriichi's spirit, if nothing else.
It's the same attitude towards others when he told Michikatsu that one day, there will be younger demon slayers who will surpass them. He's just there to enjoy the ride, knowing that people are undeniably amazing and strong.

If I could make my own breathing style it would be sand breathing.This breathing style would be a derivative of stone breathing and would incorporate its defensive and long range properties but sacrifices the strength/ power of stone breathing for more speed/quickness.
Sand breathing would be a heavily defensive breathing style, which focuses on parrying, blocking and dodging oppents attacks to slow them down and throw them off balance. Which would then create openings to attack them. This breathing style would utilize a weapon with a lot of range such as a naginata (staff with a blade at the end), to make it easier to perry and block the demons attacks & then quickly counter attack.
The reason this breath style is called sand breathing is because it mimics the properties of sand when somebody is walking through it. When somebody walks through sand it slows down their movements and makes their footing shaky and unstable. This breath styles defensive properties slow down the demons movements and throws them off balance, as if they were fighting in sand. When the user of this breath style uses one of their forms they envision themselves creating deserts, sand and sandstorms.

Forms would be:
1st form, Sand Storm Barrage: the user dashes at the opponent & attacks with a furry of forward lunging slashes
2nd form, Scorching Sun of the Sahara: The user uses their weapon to vault in the air, dodging an opponent's attack and then strikes them with a downward vertical slash.
3rd form, Desert Mirage: The user gets into a defensive stance and blocks all incoming attacks until there is an opening. Once an opening is created the user attacks with a horizontal slash
4th form, Impenetrable Sand Shield: the user spins their weapon in a very quick, circular motion which acts as a shield to block/deflect all incoming projectile attacks.
5th form, Heavy Dust Storm, Raging Clouds: the user attacks with a vertical, upward slash.
6th form, Rapidly Sinking Sands: the user waits for the opponent to attack & then parrys their attack, stopping them in their tracks. The user than quickly strikes the opponent
7th form, Sand Tsunami: The user slashes/ cuts off the opponents legs to slow down / stop their movements.
8th form, Majestic Flowing Sands, Desert Oasis: This form is used when facing multiple opponents. The user enters a calm/zen like state that allows them to block, parry & dodge incoming attacks from multiple opponents for a short period of time.

He's the creator of his breathing style lmao. He didn't have a teacher, he basically mimics the boars that took care of him as a child.
For me, the breathing style would be glass breathing. It would be based on quick indecisive movements made to make illusions that make it so it would be impossible to know what would happen next. It would have a side weapon onf sharper and heavier playing cards. These could boomerang or be a tool outside of just attacking. The other side weapon, meant to blindside enemies are 2 quick sharp metal fans that can pop out quickly. They can also be used to knockback the cards.
1st form: Elusive Triple Rip - The user would throw 7 cards at multiple different directions and speeds, using the barrage as a cover to dash forward.
2nd form: Shattering Illusion - The user would run at the enemy, going between many lanes of direction, built to confuse the enemy as cards boomerang back. When the enemy is forced to dodge, block, or take the hit, the user would dash and jump either right around the enemy or away to recuperate. If up close the user would perform a spinning slash while upside down.
3rd form: Broken Mirror - If the user is in a tough spot, the user would throw a barrage of cards up which the user would then kick towards the enemy, bouncing off and escaping.
4th form: Cracked Lenses - The user would get squat low, transferring into a backflip that barrels at the enemy. The user would then use their whole arsenal of weaponry to help mask the rush. Then they would use a fan to cut the air pressure in front of them, blitzing the opponent in a rush attack with a multitude of katana slashes.
5th form: Ethereal Delusion Bombardment - The user would use this as a defensive counter attack. When the time comes, and the user has proper footing they would dash around the opponent as much as possible, delivering many slices with all the weapons, built to act like a 4d manipulation.
6th form: Skyline Deception - The user would throw many cards up that spin, leaving the stalling in the air. The user would then jump up, bouncing off the cards and launching them downwards. The user can than either keep with the ranged bombardment or blitz downwards delivering a diagonal slash to the enemy.
7th form: Stinging Cyclone - The user would throw up a decks worth of cards, thrown to boomerang back around. The katana would be thrown upwards in a spinning motion, launching all the cards in a spinning motion. The fans would then shoot the cards launched at the users body towards the enemy.

A note on the trails that follow breathing style attacks.
The trails aren't just visible to the reader, but rather they're illusory manifestations that appear around the blades of practitioners once they pass a certain threshold of strength. For example Murata is described as being so weak that he barely has trails of water following his blade as he fights.
I can't remember if the lore blurb in that volume of the manga said that _everyone_ can see them or only other practitioners and demons can, but they _are_ there.

5:03 important note about tanjiros ancestor learning the sun breathing form; he didn’t intentionally try to learn it but instead he observed yoroiichi practicing in his backyard and admired the beauty of it. So it stuck with him and was engrained in his memory. He told yoroiichi when yoroiichi was about to quit, that he would be the one to pass down his form through his kin because he can’t let a beautiful form like that be forgotten.

Also no one else can use thunder 7th form or water 11th form since zenitsu and giyuu are the only one who can use their own respective moves. And i think that these best moves would be from the basic breathing so I think that the 7th thunder and 11th water would not be counted.

Total I have 3 flushed out breathing techniques thought out.
Smoke breathing which is an off shoot of Wind breathing
Winter breathing which is a loose off shoot of Water breathing
Forge breathing which is an off shoot of Sound breathing.
Color wise.
Smoke is grayish blue.
Forge is red orange
Winter is "Dirty" white to Grayish white
If we take out the real fx/projectiles of demon moon breathing, we can assume that moon breathing flourish when on the defensive position, most attacks are counters and range, making s distance between two combatants

I believe that the "normal" moon breathing originally had 6 forms, because seventh form is way too broad and big for a human to preform it.
The way sun breathing was passed on with the hinokami kaguya is actually very similar to how karate/kobudo/iaido techniques were passed on through katas, it was easier to learn a long sequence than 10 or more small techniques as well as learn how to chain techniques even without a true opponent in your facr

My breathing style would be shadow breathing which would derive from moon breathing. Shadow breathing is about fast movements which come almost unseeable. It takes the offense of moon breathing to another level, with fast movements and really offensive movements it becomes impossible to dodge.
Shadow breathing consists of 13 forms each with its own unique properties.

The purpose of my coated weapon is to weaken the demons and behead them in their most vulnerable state (just like what happened to certain demon).
It's my personal belief (or theory i guess) that moon breathing's forms 1-6 might be the only forms kokushibo created as a human. My reasoning for this is listed below:
1)These are the only forms performed with a standard size katana. Whereas all forms that follow are performed with kokushibo's much longer demon sword. (Maybe a human could imitate them with a tachi or odachi but I doubt that because.....)
2) Forms 1-6 atleast the way I see it are more reliant on swordsmanship rather than kokushibo's bda. Wheras 7-16 seem almost impossible to perform without his bda. (A notable example would be the 16th form)
Ofcourse some of the later forms could've been developed by michikatsu it's almost impossible to tell because of how much they've been altered in his time as kokushibo.

If I could have a breathing style it would be corrupted breathing it would branch off any breathing (i will explain) as it involves having speed but also great power. As one of this breathing style would have had to fail as a main breath user and made this style out of desperation but not that this is a bad breathing style. It would be focused on attacking the foe with great blows. It would have a final attacking corrupted breath 0 form elemental impact. This attack could only be used if the said user breaks the 80% power us humans are limited to and brings out all 100%. It would be the final blow to finish off the demon but take a heavy burden on the body and you would only be able to use this once in a battle bc if tried more then once you could risk high injures or even death. The weapon of choice would be two katana but shorter ones like Genya has but not two short somewhere around the middle of Genyas and a normal katana
There are people out there who beleive gyu is stronger than muchiro because he uses water and water was one of the 5 split from sun breathing. If you could make a video debunking this line of thinking please do.

For all the hard core kny fans I got a question. Is zenitsu a hashira? Now I know this sounds crazy but hear me out in one of the novel books(I forgot witch one) it state's that in order to become a hashira one must kill a twelve Kizuki, but here's the tricky part zenitsu killed an upper rank (upper moon 6 kaigau) and he was alone and still is not a hashira so is there any other requirements to becoming a hashira? Thank you for those who will answer my question if had this question bundled up inside me for a while.

Yes that's true. Sun breathing is not the technique of his family. It was just passed down in his family because the Sun breathing creator didn't have kids.
And the mark is unlocked if you survive a specific body state. Don't worry that will be explained in the next anime season.
Tanjiro got this flame like mark because his body is compatible with the sun breathing style. And if remember correctly than not everyone could learn sun breathing. That's why the other forms where created.

Fun Fact: There are just special effects and not actual powers😂😂
the moves are real, u mean to say the effects that are shown arent real. each style is different obviously and the moves they use follow that. for example water breathing follows what water resembles which is calmness and its also a simple style. most of the moves follow a straightforward move like a slash or thrust and then theres dead calm which has the user calm himself and deflect all attacks. rock breathing follows defensive techniques and also hard hitting ones.
