- Stephanie Alm, a detective with Norton Shores Police Department, talks about the murder of 15-year-old Timothy Ferguson. Timothy was found dead July 6, 2022, weighing 69 pounds, at the Vander Ark family home on Marshall Road in Norton Shores, Michigan. Timothy's mother Shanda Vander Ark was convicted of murder and child abuse, she is serving life in prison without the possibility of parole. Justice is not served. The father Eric should be charged as well. The father sent him to live with Shanda. He knew Shanda wasn't supposed to have that child. Eric should be charged. This wouldn't have happened if Eric followed the law 🤷

Muskegon County did a phenomenal job in making sure there was justice for Timothy. It's the gall that Randall Myrum of Lake Mills, WI has dedicated finances to assist Paul with his Appeal. How dare he come into our community and decide Paul needs a lighter sentence. This weasel even has filed a Ginther Hearing to have his Plea overturned because of ineffective counsel. I'm livid that this jerk thinks he knows more than Judge Kacel and experts that evaluated Paul. He is literally funding Paul's Appeal so he can be out on the streets sooner. He believes in time served.
People in this community should be outraged.
Paul is a psychopath who enjoyed hurting his brother. Anyone who's listened to him or his recent jail phone calls would know this. 😢

Do you really think this Randall guy is doing this for Paul out of the goodness of his heart? NO WAY! He's expecting to get rights to book deals, movies, etc because he has exclusive information straight from Paul's mouth. Listen to the calls... it's all right there for you to hear. Makes me sick.

Well, think about it. The mother was a total monster that tortured and starved her son to death. The other one was subjected to this nutjob his whole life. He was groomed.

Paul right up until sentencing thought he’d get away with it and be back home where, as he said “ we could all move on” His step mother put him straight on that. The pair of them were never really sad about what they did to T. Two very empty individuals.
Look at the past charges and CPS stuff! She abused him until he became a monster himself. And we know Paul did something way before too when he was a kid I think to the other brother. The whole family is MESSED UP. Timmy at least was loved by his other siblings.

The can't hire enough CPS caseworkers in this Country to prevent all the child deaths we see seemingly every week. Where is personal responsibility? Also free birthcontrol to prevent these monsters from having kids in the first place.

The sentencing judge lambasted the killers but never addressed how they became what they became. Failure to address cycles of abuse or to invest at all in vulnerable children allows these terrible crimes to continue.
There is no reason for a child to die at the hands of their parents in America. Parents can give their children to the state. in the state of Tennessee, you can voluntarily surrender Your Child before a judge.

Thought he was 8 years old
That picture of Timothy was probably one of the last pictures taken of him. He was around 8 when it was taken. Imagine not taking a picture of your child for 7 years. I can’t go one day without photographing at least one of my pets.
In honor of and out of respect for Timothy, the judge chose to use that picture

In the texts as often as shanda texts Paul to walk the dogs and take them potty - the house shouldnt have had that much pee and poop in it

It got massive national attention & the trial was on You Tube's Court TV channel. Have you been living under a stone. Every True Crime channel has covered it, extensively, as well as analysing Paul & Shanda's jail phone calls.

@lindaaitken7679 How is she a troll? I keep up with a number of true crime channels and have only heard about this through news tid bits. Not everyone has the same algorithm, and there is a LOT of things people can watch online nowadays. When there were far fewer options on TV years ago, more people saw the same stuff.
They need to get paid better for how stressful their job is. They also end up with ptsd especially now there is less focus on God🥲
My heart goes out to these CPS and law inforcement ppl. That deal with these situations. They are true hero's just heartbreaking it's too late sometimes for these helpless, presious children 😢
