    The more I play through Armored Core, the more I start to feel like your Operators ultimately became your Firekeepers/Candle Maidens. Even the line "hey, can you hear me?" makes me think of DS3's "The End of Fire" ending, where your Firekeepers says almost the exact same words as all light fades away.

      Yea i see alot of parallels between the IPs. The garage is effectively the bonfire/grace where you change your spells or mech respectively, serving as restpoints between the stretches of the game. The themes are two sides of the same coin, death vs corruption and existential nihilism are everywhere. Hard bosses, crazy customization, a stamina/energy bar, and duels are equally important to both. It really just seemed like nobody in the west understood how great and "ahead of its time" AC1-silent line were, so fromsoft slowed everything down and streamlined it with darksouls. And i believe the success of souls only made fromsoft feel they had the right idea initially hence why were getting AC6 now.
      Also elden stars and the pursuit missile launchers are essentially the same thing, i could go on.

    I really appreciate the little nods the devs gave to veteran AC players. The fact that you are a Raven even when other pilots are Lynx and the lore for the tech to pilot NEXTs is essentially Human+. It is nice because Human+ all but disappears to become OP-Intensify and then that all but disappears. Nice of you to include the hard mode scenarios as well. Thanks for all your work.

    7:45 According to what you said, this could imply that the Raven's vocal cords were damaged in his last fight before the events of the game's beginning. That would've been one hell of an in-lore reason as to why you start out as a Silent Protagonist.

    I know it’s non-canon, but there is a fan film out there called “armored core NEXT” that has a battle scene in the first episode that shows just how outclassed normals were against NEXT.
    Four Armored Cores with a HumanPLUS amongst them were ripped to utter shreds against a single NEXT. That’s how one-sided the dismantlement war was.

    I like the idea of Joshua O'Briens and Anatolia's Mercenary friendship, however the way the game shows it, there's only like 3 missions he appears in which gives the player little knowledge on who the heck who he's supposed to be, especially with at the ending, when he was supposed to be the Players good friend. And even then in the Desert Wolf Mission its entirely optional and possible to miss Joshua O'Briens assistance.

    • @armoredcorelore
      @armoredcorelore  Před rokem +2

      Sadly you hit the nail on the head here. If we had more time to see this friendship, more talks over the radio, more missions together. Then perhaps that bitter moment where friends must point thier guns at each other to protect what they love would have been more impactful.

    Armored Core world is such a wild world to live in... you either live as a "hard-working citizen" or become hollow.
    Great video as always and the presentation itself is good.
    Here is my suggestion on improving your long video.
    1) Firstly, instead putting lore into a 29-minutes with no break, you break the the lore down into different chapter to give viewer a breathing room (I'm not talking about Part 1 and Part 2, it's chapter/timestamp in CZcams video). For example, "CHAPTER 1: Introduction" which cover your opening word to the lore, character introduction (player), other notable character, and the corporation; then "CHAPTER 2: Mercenary 4 Hire" where you cover the player accepting many mission up until Internal Purge where the war started as you said, "CHAPTER 3: The War Between Corporation" where you now explain the mission that ties everything together, "CHAPTER 4: The Final Confrontation" explaining Fiona and Player relationship become closer, and leading to the final fight against Joshua, and lastly "THE ANSWER" where you talk about the conclusion/recap or what's your opinion on the story, then close with the next video.
    In other word, give a break on your video like how Top 10-style video does... that chapter break give viewer a needed breathing room for a long video.
    2) Adding background music is also important as this can give the video more life to it, and also a way to show off your music taste and expose your viewer to a great music, maybe an OST from your favorite game, or underappreciated artist (assuming they allow it).
    3) Turn off your in-game music for dialogue, as the sudden spike of music or the music itself overshadow the dialogue can ruin the flow of your video... so let your background music of choice do the job.
    Everything still up to you, so good luck with the Part 2.

    • @armoredcorelore
      @armoredcorelore  Před 2 lety +3

      Thanks Reifin i will take this into consideration and yes the game music has to go for dialogue. I have no idea why i left it in the first place. I'm happy to answer that. Its more of a case of a pilot could not even move the next if they did not have any ams capability. Some low ams pilots however as we know would push through it if you will. But this put a huge strain on thier body and brain if the next was not adapted to support them (Like the GA Sunshine E for example and anything with weapon arms)
      The line about normals was in the original script, however after more research i decided to cut it during recording.
      But i forgot to edit it out of script after. And since i post the script into youtube to use for subtitle creation the line remains.

    Seed a Baren Earth. For any that got even half as deep as I did into the story, it changes you. To watch all that you loved, all that you fought for, and everything you have built sacrificed in an instant. It never once crossed my mind, even for a second that it could all just be taken away. I had to pause for a moment, when I heard his voice. "No!!! NOOO!!!" I exclaimed out loud. "Not Joshua, not him". He was the one Lynx that drove me to get better, push harder, and never give up no matter how overwelming the odds were.... and now I HAD to destroy him. I thought I had lost everything, but realized there was always so much more that could be taken. So I, and Pixy charged with tear filled eyes and... we won. It wasnt till a second playthrough I found out what happened at the end, I dropped the controller and had to jump out of charactor. Didnt touch the game for a couple of weeks after that. Then, I got right back at it. A long while later, I eventually picked up ACFA and loved every second of it. I was constantly pushing myself to get better and better, till eventually I became the fastest. I didnt know why at first, but all I wanted was to find others that could beat me. I now know why. Because you cant surpass your limits unless you know what your limits are. In my new build Sonic Boom, I began doing 2v1. then 3v1, and 4v1. I kept climbing untill it was always me against an entire lobby. I began learning from these players who the best were and what builds they used, and I wanted to take them all on. From Blood Drunk to the unstoppable AI someone had made. I saw the potential to beat me. And thus, the pontential to find a new limit to break.
    Whomever you that has read all this, never give up. When 110% isnt enough, give it 210%. You have so much more you can give, and so much more to loose should you give up

      @@ex0gen Theoretically speaking if would make sense if Armored Core 4 and 5 was a prequel to the PS1 armored core games, AC4 shows how the modern world as we know it; the nations of earth are replaced with corporations during the National dismantlement war, after the events of AC4 Awnser the kojima radiation could be what caused 'The great destruction' forcing humans to live in the underground cities because of the contaminated surface of the earth, NEXT are taken out of commission for causing these calamities and Normal AC's become the standard.
      AC5 could be what happens right before Humanity goes underground for the next few hundred years, since the surface of the earth is basically inhospitable by the time AC5 happens and NEXT are considered forbidden technology by this point.
      The AMS could likely be a precursor to Human Plus and OP-INTENSIFY.
      Being reversed engineered from the AMS which would be considered lost and forbidden technology by the time the PS1 AND PS2 timelines are playing out.
      If you fill in the blanks with the lore the games presents to you like the Dark Souls series did it all makes a lot of sense, in theory.

      @@C4-3341 I've heard a similar theory. However, the only problem is in the original AC1 manual, after the Greet Destruction, humanity went underground, and the muscle tracer technology emerged under ground, eventually leading to the development of AC's around a 'core concept.' This would mean that they would have had to reinvent the same technology as before, from scratch, which is highly unlikely. I think it makes more sense they just reinvented the story in various ways as they go along.

      All we know is it was based in South Asia, so it could have held control of a number of countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. Shubhrajyothsna pulakitayaminim Phullakusumita drumadala shobinim. Suhasinim sumadhura bhashinim, Sukhadam varadam, Mataram!" Which are verses from the poem "Vande Mataram (Mother, I Salute Thee,)" found in the novel Anandamath by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.
      The poem has been adopted as the national song of India as such this is a suggestion the corporation may of had it roots in India. But again nothing out rightly stated where the headquarters of Eqbal was.
