I’ve worn Carnal Flower for years and always receive compliments on it. Just a couple little sprays is all you need and it lasts on me for hours. I normally wear this fragrance in spring/summer. I also have the hair mist and body wash. Love all of them.
Try them on skin! 🙂Music for a While and Parfum de Therese are really nice as well. Worth smelling if you are able; Parfum de Therese changes a lot during its wear, and drydown sillage is pretty.

This was so helpful and so much fun! I also share your love of lilac and hope to grow them myself someday. For now Aerin's Lilac Path and Pacifica's French Lilac are little slices of heaven for me.

My parents have a lilac bush that grows literally less than a foot from the side of their house. No idea how it gets the sun it needs, but it's still there alive and well. Shouldn't be that difficult to get one growing. Really glad Frederic Malle has still somehow maintained its quality since their acquisition by Estee Lauder in 2014. It'd be a shame if they acquiesced into mediocrity. Big fan of Vetiver Extraordinaire and Musc Ravageur.
I am definitely going to try to get a lilac bush growing soon. That is part of why I have been hesitant to get into Frederic Malle, as I usually don't trust it when smaller houses are acquired by big conglomerates. It seems that all is well so far though. After testing them I would definitely be willing to spend the money on a full bottle if I loved it enough!

@@hocineted7594 From a social norm standpoint, I would tend to agree. It's unfortunate conditioning that so many lovely or expensive scents seem to be associated or reserved for older, richer or more fashionable people (especially musky florals) but it's true. Eventhough the manufacturing cost is about the same. My advice has always been to wear what you want but also to be aware of your surroundings. If everyone else is wearing blue freshies, you can be reasonably certain that a musky and spicy vanilla will stand out. As for my personal associations, I originally used to associate FM with french women for some reason. 😄 Many of their perfumes have that traditional french vibe.
I’ve been looking for the perfect magnolia fragrance. I grew up with a giant magnolia tree in my front yard. The scent is so sentimental to me. I have a travel spray of Acqua di Parma ‘magnolia nobile’ on the way but I may have to try Eau de Magnolia, too! Kate Spade ‘Live Colorfully’ is the best I have found (even though magnolia isn’t listed as a note on Fragrantica, the kate spade site does)I love it so much. I don’t know if I’ll find something to beat it lol
Hi Sara!! I too have a decant of Magnolia Nobile and it is gorgeous. It doesn't quite capture that natural citrus that I get from a real Magnolia like Eau De Magnolia does. It is a beautiful fragrance though and I still love it. I will have to pick up a bottle of the Kate Spade as I haven't smelled that one yet and I have been on the hunt for the perfect magnolia fragrance as well.
I need to revisit some of these. I tested a few of these a couple years ago and did not like any. Carnal Flower was nauseating to me. I thought I would've enjoyed it, bc I adore Fracas and Quelques Fleurs, but something about the eucalyptus and coconut tie in just did not work for me... En Passant sounds so lovely !
Magnolias grow here in Washington too! There are many streets in Bellevue that are lined with them. I hope you get another magnolia tree. Right next to your lilac. I feel like I’ve seen lilacs here, but they might have been that “Butterfly tree” too.
I bought a 50ml bottle POAL & Carnal Flower after sampling the decants but now that I have it I never wear it 😂 It's too strong for daily wear, problems I figured after 🤷🏼♀️
I want a full bottle of Iris Poudre- I love it so much! I love many iris fragrances but this is one of the most elegant ever. I also really love Musc Ravageur. However, I only have Musc Ravageur inspiration from Alexandra, but I also really enjoy it. I'm curious about Eau de Magnolia because I haven't ever smelled a good magnolia, I love the smell of them, and I know you know what they smell like because you are living in the same state I am and they are everywhere here!

Yes, they really can smell like soap but En Passant stays away from soap territory. I’m going to see about planting a lilac bush this spring. 🥰
