Awesome job....thanks for your video....what I was dreading only took me a few minutes to do. Your logic on the knots is brilliant and certainly is the safest way to do this...Thanks again!
I'm X-Navy and was duly impressed with your comfort with knots. You have a gift to be able to visualize how the knots worked together. Very Cool. Have a blessed day.
Right that's what I'm thinking too, I'm totally lost in this video but really like it, I think, it's seems like a brilliant way to do this, but dang, making me feel like an idiot not being able to follow
This is surprisingly easy to follow considering you did it all with one hand. The bailout line trick is new to me, that'll make things a lot easier! Really appreciate you taking the time to make this video :)
After admitting defeat with the seat belt straps that came in my kit, I found this little gem. Thanks for the great advice. Don't underestimate the size of the bowline knot, especially when your limb is pretty high up in the tree. Distance plays tricks on your eyes. I had to make mine a bit larger.
I've read ALL the comments and they sum up ALL my thoughts!! Thank heavens my 10 foot ladder was all I needed to reach my tree branch. I've watched this video repeatedly simply because it's/you're fascinating. Not sure how you EVER figured this out but KUDOS!!!
same, i think we would need to know about the different types of knots to get it as well. It was good instructions but i still dont get how to do the knots
Excellent tutorial. I like this approach, but I'm still searching for a way to have a "bail out" rope that would allow me to remove the line from the tree if it becomes damaged or starts to fray in the future. I don't like the idea of having a rope permanently affixed to a limb that I won't be able to get to if I ever need to replace the rope. I thought about just having a double rope, with one rope supporting the weight of the swing, and the other essentially just attached loosely to the main rope or the top of the swing. Just not sure how to keep all that from getting twisted up. Engineering stuff like this is fun, and you've given me some ideas for things to try.
I don’t think there is anyway to remove it. I have done something similar to this but put the loop in the middle of the rope, that way you can pull down on one of the two ends to pull the loop back down.
Absolutely brilliant. I’ll have to find somebody with a really good arm to throw the rope over but this knotting technique is awesome! Will it loosen as the tree grows? I think I killed a branch by putting too tight of a knot on it.
Dude I really wanna know where you live due to that tree. I’m certain you have at least one friend that’s always staring at that thing- rarely see walnuts that big. Good for you
I like the double bowline morphed hitch too. I learned from "whyknot" channel about the "swing hitch" and its pretty sick too. Kinda like a double constrictor knot but with a hitch. I wanna send you a video of a rope swing i made that you let go of, into a lake. Its borderline illegal. easily 50+ ' drop. I know youd appreciate the setup and if you are in NC, itll be worth your visit
This is so complicated, but I like it cus it looks like a very safe way to do the tree swing, but idk if im following straight, I keep having to stop and go back to try figuring out how exactly this is all being done and the finish product from it all, and if it's what I need. I have all the rope to do it enough, but I'm just not sure if it'd be easier to just climb the dang giant tree ime working with here. You definitely need a tripod of some any sorts though cus that view is making it seem too busy, I think it's why I'm feeling confused acually.
This is really cool. The setup is completed by strong rope and not to mention their unique way of rigging the rope for wood tree swings. I was planning to put one on my yard and saw several designs of swings already on treeswingstore.com
Ive got some really tall fir trees in the back. I've used a little crossbow with a bow fishing rig to get a string on the lowest branches. Seems like a drone could be useful 🤔
So is it difficult to throw up the static line first? And then tie a serious slipknot or something, pull it all the way up and pull it tight? Is that not doable? If there's enough tension it shouldn't rub back and forth.
He called it a static cord, meaning it didn't stretch like the rope he used to pull the whole thing up into tree. You don't want your swing rope to be stretchy. You want it to be static.
Insanely well done, but I’m afraid this is definitely beyond my skill set. I can’t visualize how the knot gets tied at the top, I can sort of picture it from your close up…
Just practice on a very low limb or something. You’ll figure it out. I couldn’t follow exactly what was happening either, but plan to tinker with this method.
Dude, that branch is soo high, that would be the coolest swing to swing on? Where u live, lol, i wana come swing, cus my swing is still sitting on the ground cus ive sorta given up trying to keep up with your brilliance and stuck on wanting to do it only your way.
Holy shit this is the most complicated rope swing video I’ve seen on YT. I’m sure it made a good swing but using 3 ropes for a single rope swing setup, geez.
Don't waste your time on this video, over complicated way to do it. Super long video too, he could had explained it in a 3th of the time. I wasted my time watching it so you don't have to.
wtf did I just watch? 200 dollars, half a bottle of adderal, 3 ropes, 14 knots, and 13 minutes later, that snappy video is no longer snappy. Jeez, and also, if you can do all that you can definitely weedeat that yard.
The over complicated way to do it. Just get rope that is twice as long as what you need tie a weight to one end throw it up over the limb pull it down and tie a loop in one end put the other end through then pull the loop goes up and cut to length after the loop is up on the limb. You don't need all those ropes...just one rope.
Will this way make the rope more secure? I thought the video was good but i cant really follow what he was saying, confusing. Your way sounds easy but will it have the same security?
You are a master! I was amazed on this video and wasn't expecting you will do it by yourself. We have our classic tree swing that we purchased at treeswingstore.com and really needed your tips to install it. Thanks and the video really helped my husband.
I've never felt less competent in my life😂.
Same. 😂
Please make another one of these with someone else holding the camera 👌
Awesome job....thanks for your video....what I was dreading only took me a few minutes to do. Your logic on the knots is brilliant and certainly is the safest way to do this...Thanks again!
I second that
OMG, great idea for the video. Knowledgeable, but too hard to listen too and way too hard to watch. I need Dramamine now!
Awesome video
Make a video yourself instead of being a douchebag in the comments 👌
I'm X-Navy and was duly impressed with your comfort with knots. You have a gift to be able to visualize how the knots worked together. Very Cool. Have a blessed day.
I feel like I just took a graduate level class while I was still in preschool.
It ain’t even that hard
😂
super impressed but got lost halfway through - you are obviously a rope genius . Can you just come to our house and do this for us?
Right that's what I'm thinking too, I'm totally lost in this video but really like it, I think, it's seems like a brilliant way to do this, but dang, making me feel like an idiot not being able to follow
Worked! dont skip the bailout i needed it.
Now my kids think im a genius, thank you.

Hey, thanks for taking the time to show us how to do this without climbing! Much ppreciated!
Thanks for cutting right to the chase in these instructions. Clear directions, good sound quality, and camera control - all with one hand!
Super helpful, used this method today, thanks a bunch!
One handed rope knotting master class. Thanks!
Great work explaining and filming it! Thanks
I've read ALL the comments and they sum up ALL my thoughts!! Thank heavens my 10 foot ladder was all I needed to reach my tree branch. I've watched this video repeatedly simply because it's/you're fascinating. Not sure how you EVER figured this out but KUDOS!!!
I sure wish I could follow this but I cannot. I'm thoroughly confused. But I appreciate your efforts!
same, i think we would need to know about the different types of knots to get it as well. It was good instructions but i still dont get how to do the knots

You do know that’s an epic tree. Holy cow that looks like a butternut or walnut, maybe pecan. Beast of a tree👍
Black walnut
Or maybe pecan
Yes, you got it. A very mature black walnut. No risk of that limb coming down any time soon.
Great video! Thank you so much.
Thanks! Was looking for something like that because I already thinked about this problem without finding a solution.. great job ;)
This will make putting up a rope swing for my kids so much easier and safer! Thank you!
Super intelligent video - thank you for the content. You must be an experienced arborist.
This was incredibly helpful. Thank you.
Exactly what I am looking for! Thank you. I’m about to go try it.
Where's the one handed video of you swinging on it? Lol
Thank you sooo much for this!! I knew there was a way I could do this without a taller ladder and by myself…🙏🙏 Much Appreciated!! 💯
Got halfway finished watching the video and came to the comments to see if I was the only one getting a headache
That's great! Maybe I'll put it to practise this summer.
This was a big help. How do you remove it from the tree though? Is there a trick?
I don’t think there is anyway to remove it. I have done something similar to this but put the loop in the middle of the rope, that way you can pull down on one of the two ends to pull the loop back down.
Finally an actual decent video
Absolutely brilliant. I’ll have to find somebody with a really good arm to throw the rope over but this knotting technique is awesome! Will it loosen as the tree grows? I think I killed a branch by putting too tight of a knot on it.
This was a terrific help, thanks.
Nice. Unfortunately I tried a shortcut and didn't put that safety rope on there and now it's stuck lol. Didn't do that loop long enough!!
Fixed it and it works great
Dude I really wanna know where you live due to that tree. I’m certain you have at least one friend that’s always staring at that thing- rarely see walnuts that big. Good for you
Yep, that's a black walnut in southern MO. Every other year we get walnuts by the bucket full.
I like the double bowline morphed hitch too. I learned from "whyknot" channel about the "swing hitch" and its pretty sick too. Kinda like a double constrictor knot but with a hitch. Question where did you learn all this and why don't I know this or can learn easily. great video.
So did you just chuck the block over the tree branch before filming? (How exactly...?)
This is so complicated, but I like it cus it looks like a very safe way to do the tree swing, but idk if im following straight, I keep having to stop and go back to try figuring out how exactly this is all being done and the finish product from it all, and if it's what I need. Thanks for this! It worked perfectly for a branch too tall for my ladder.
Awesome! Thank you! 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks for your uploading

How to remove it without climbing the tree?
Awesome work!!
im 39 years old, why am i watching this
Because you actually want a rope swing!? Lol never too old to enjoy swinging..
Thank you!

OMG THANKS FOR THE ANXIETY ATTACK!!!
This guy sounds like Chris pratt
This is great, thank you! What rope did you use to hang the swing?
He called it a static cord, meaning it didn't stretch like the rope he used to pull the whole thing up into tree. You don't want your swing rope to be stretchy. You want it to be static.

Could u add a link to buy the climbing type of rope that doesn't stretch plz
谢谢你所做的视频 つ😘つ つ😘つ
What rope do you use to rig branches. Trying to cut one down that is ontop of the house
Great video...someone else holding please
I loved this until everything started to move around and I got sea sick.from the camera and rope swing around
Don't waste your time on this video, over complicated way to do it. Super long video too, he could had explained it in a 3th of the time. I wasted my time watching it so you don't have to.
Aim: Short, punchy video.
Outcome: Almost 15 minutes long
Aim: advice
Result: insult and looking like a Richard
Trippd bro, GET A TRIPOD please
Step 1, skip the hardest part.
wtf did I just watch? 200 dollars, half a bottle of adderal, 3 ropes, 14 knots, and 13 minutes later, that snappy video is no longer snappy. Jeez, and also, if you can do all that you can definitely weedeat that yard.
For gosh sake please get someone to hold the camera while you work and give directions. !
Bored now
Get to the point already.
Yes I'm impatient and thus video annoyed me.
