- It's weeks late, but I have finally finished torturous testing of what will fit in the Anvil Carrack. This is a complete list (minus the Aurora LN...grrr). I spent weeks carefully cramming everything in, side by side, sometimes one on top of the other, every ship I could get my hands on so we can know, definitively, what we can take with us while exploring Star Citizen in the game's premier exploration ship.

Nice. I carry two ships -- one in the hangar and one on top. The ship on top can be larger so long as the landing gear isn't larger than the physics grid of the hangar roof. So sadly the Hawk, 300i or other ships of similar size are too large.
But this video is super helpful because I'm considering getting a Buccaneer to ride on top while I have a Pisces inside the hangar. This way I can park the Carrack and use the Buccaneer for bounties.
can't wait for another big ship to be released. You're going to need a lot of friends when the Bengal releases.
When they get bigger, I'm going to have to ask for help. The Carrack nearly defeated me. I spent all the time I could spare and there are still things I wanted to try. I can't imagine I'd be able to do even a half decent job on the Kraken.
@@DefinitelyGamingWithJim pretty sure you won't be short on help if you ask or put out a video/call for help. : ) So many of us love these videos that would volunteer to help out. Just find a free-fly weekend and/or ships to spawn in the PTU and/or people with various ships and I think we could go wild.

A good guess, and my previous record, but low. It almost covers just the filming and editing, but I got a little carried away here, and spent time earning money to rent ships so I could try more things. Not worth it from a content perspective, and definitly terrible time management worthy of a teenager, but it was fun : )
It should totally fit an arrow ... should be able to use landing gear without having the wings fold up. On all the ships with wings that move
I hope they give the option to fold the wings of ships separately

I’m so happy to see the Will It Fit with the Carrack! Thank you! One you had as wont fit, the Balista, does fit. It can be loaded into the flight hanger, without closing the doors. This is a good way to add missiles and torpedos to the Carrack, lol!
I didn't even consider driving ground ships up the canopy. I'm kind of kicking myself now. Still, I have three questions. Can it get back out, a will the doors close while it's in there, and can you point me to a video of the ballista doing those things? It seems I forgot to lay out the "does it fit" rules in this video, which is another oversight on my part. I usually define "fit" in each video. For a smaller vehicle to "fit" I need to be able to close all exterior doors without clipping, enter and exit the mothership while it's loaded, fly around, and get the smaller vehicle behicle back out afterward without damaging either ship.
Even so, I like the idea of sticking a ballista on top. Extra missiles never hurt...except the person you shoot with them.
Gaming With Jim getting the Ballista in is hard, we had to use an 890j to get it there, and closing the door (or jumping, since this automatically closes everything), turns out bad. I don’t know how to get it out. It really falls out of your rules for fitting, but it is funny, and you can still use the missiles while flying the Carrack, well someone in the Ballista can. It is a shock to others when they see missiles launch from the Carrack...

Also you can turn the picecs around in the bottom vehicle bay. It was the first thing I did was cram one in my carrack.
I recon you could easily fit two rangers and a picese in the bottom when they are released. And will be my standard config as my bucc or hopefully later arrow will be in the top hanger
I decided pretty quickly that I won't be putting the Pisces in the Carrack at all. I think I'll use one of those stealthy Razors in the hangar and fill the vehicle bay with an ursa, a greycat, a cyclone, and a dragonfly. I just want to see stuff, and I figure the Razor will get me in and out of most places I'd like to go. The rest should cover everything I want to see on the ground : )

I always look for people who are genuinely having fun when I watch gameplay videos. Those are always the most entertaining, and I try to stick to that here : )

wish it was big/deep enough for the arrow or gladius, but at least the snubs go in, was hoping to use this as my mothership with my bounty bros, might be a problem now
If you angled the outer Argo's out I think you could fit all three easily.

That is one of the things I wanted to try, but I ran out of time. I think so, maybe, but can not confirm either way. I can confirm that it would be super tight if you managed it.
I wish you could fit a hornet wildfire in there. Would make it a lot more tempting to take the carrack bounty hunting solo. Though i guess parking it on the roof and switching via EVA is ... do-able

I did some recording with the 890 Jump, but not anything like I have done with the Carrack. I'm not sure I can make a video out of it, but I intend to try.
I hope they make the landing gear controls separate form things like the collapsible wings in the Arrow. Like how they separated the VTOL from the landing gear.
Agreed. Honestly, I think everybody wants that, even the developers. Not being a developed my self, I can't say how complicated that would be. But, being married to a web developer/programmer who has built more than one website with me as a pickey client, I know that sometimes in programming something seems simple but is actually a giant hassle to accomplish for reasons I don't understand. My wife feels the same way about home maintenance. Just a hunch, but this feels like one of those things?
Could be the hassle is rewriting huge swathes of code for something minor, or that Chris Roberts hates the idea for reasons unknown, but think if it were easy and acceptable to the boss they'd have done it by now, if only to shut people up : )

What about the Glaive or Blade if you destroy the wings first?
I didn't test them because it breaks my rules if you break off parts of the ship and I had to cut something, but don't think I didn't want to try. I want to try all the things.
Honestly, for exploration, I think 2 Argo's up top, with a Cyclone and an Ursa down low, would be a great exploration setup if you had an escort. For military stuff a Buccaneer up top, plus 2 Ursa's down low would be a good setup IMHO.
Sadly, I don't really see much point in the argo MPUV, which is a shame because I think they look fantastic. I really wish I liked them, but they are seriously hampered by the lack of a quantum drive. This is the main reason I'd take one Pisces over two Argos.
While there are times when you only need to travel at manuvering speeds to get where you're going, there are at least as many where you want or need a quantum drive. Almost anywhere you want to go, even from one place to another on the smallest moon, or from one area to another in an asteroid field, a quantum drive cuts the travel time by 50 to 90%, and it is absolutely necessary if you want to travel from one moon to another. Additionally, according to the developers, the Pisces will be able to equip a jump drive as well. The jump drive isn't as important but it is a nice bonus.
Considering that one Pisces can carry as much cargo as 2 Argos, you can carry as many people as one Argo long as they don't mind standing, the Pisces is faster, more agile, and more maneuverable, and the Pisces is armed, I just can't bring myself to forsake the Pisces for a pair of Argos, even though the Argos look way cooler : )
I dig the military load out though. The Arrow may or may not come out on top as a fighter, but I love the Buccaneer too much to care : )

I did, but it still went wonky. There is something weird going on with the physics. It might get fixed, or maybe not. I'm happy with landing on it's belly though : )

Ok so they fit inside...but what about parked on top of the doors? Will that work in quantum flight?
Sorry to burst your bubble, but there is no gravity on top of the hangar, so nothing will sit properly, and will not stay with the ship during quantum flight. Trust me, that was one of the first things I tried cause it would be awsome. : )
@@DefinitelyGamingWithJim thanks for the info. I have one myself and had been planning on testing this out as soon as I had the time. It's hard enough to get a 2nd ship out on my own. You saved me hours of trial and error lol.
@@claytonwise5547 Yeah, getting a second ship can be hard even when you have them on your account. I often get blown up or shipjacked while parked outside a station, even if my brother is manning the second ship. It adds hours to filming. It takes much, much longer when you have to buy or rent ships in game. Happy to save you the time. Our motto at Will if Fit headquarters is "We jam things in other things so you don't have to!"
That being said, you could probably ask somebody with a Carrack to let you try things in game, or somebody with a smaller ship if you are in the Carrack. People are always looking for something to do im the PU : )

Anyone knows what's the smallest QT capable ship that can fit Fury? Because my silly ass spent money on Argo MPUV Cargo and then Drake Cutter just to find out both are too small... (Actually, Fury would fit in the Cutter if the cargo opening was bigger, IMHO it's a design flaw. Also, MPUV is almost as small as Fury and doesn't have QD either.)
It's a shame that the Arrow doesn't fit. CIG should add a key to decouple wings and landing gear while the latter is deployed.

While you have uncovered the fact that I didn't include the 300 series on the "will not fit" list, I also didn't put it on the "does fit" list. Somehow, I left the 300s out entirely. I went over that list at least a dozen times, and recorded it four or five times. I must have picked a run where I left them out. Sorry about that. Good catch. You may have mistaken the 125a for the 325a, since it 125a looks very similar and it goes by pretty quickly. I can't believe I flubbed that one. I was very careful, but when you do multiple takes it gets hard to remember what you did and did not include in any individual take. Sorry again : )
I didn’t see a Razor and a Pisces in the hangar at the same time (unless I missed it) can you confirm this is possible without having to pull crazy stunts? I really would like a razor but only if it fits in the carrack with the Pisces
I can, though it may take me a while to get both and a carrack again. I will let you know here as soon as I have tested for sure. For now, I wouldn't hesitate to bet a thousand dollars that both fit, since two pisces fit.

Gaming With Jim my thought process was that in high risk situations if someone sees a Pisces they are gonna automatically think hmm where’s the Carrack but a razor could have come from anywhere

Ah, I caught the unedited version the first time. I expect you are talking about Dying Star. It is the second map for free flight or Vanduul/Pirate Swarm. It is an option when selecting your game im Arena Commander.

I have no doubt that would work, and I will certainly do that if they ever get ships to bang around with inertia, but I'm actually very happy landing on the belly. It works great for now, and saves time : )

Actually, I just had a look at it in Levski tonight. It seems to be the same height as the others now, missiles and all. Hadn't looked at one up close since they updated the models. Mystery solved : )

Serious guess, if 3 weeks late, skipped sleep, needed editing. I'd say 1 week for editing, which leaves 4*14 = 56 hours of estimated lost sleep because of this nonsense + I'm going to guess you did at least part of this during normal goofing off hours so I'd add maybe 3*14 = 42 hours which brings us to:
98 hours of orifice packing.
My gut estimate was 20 hours.
