  • Have you taken a look inside the AP Panda? Join us on a magical journey in watchmaking as we perform a full service on the watch, taking it apart piece by piece with surgical precision, then put it back together again.
This particular 42mm chronograph was first released in 2009 and comes equipped with a caliber 3126/3840 movement from Audemars Piguet, which contains a chronograph module from Dubois-Depraz. Altogether, the movement is composed of a 365 parts and 59 jewels and looks simply stunning!
To perform the service on this AP ref 26170ST.OO.D101CR.02, we turned again to our preferred watchmaker, Yuri Lopez from Chrono Sky (see Instagram and website links below).
    / chronosky
You'll get to see breathtaking footage of the movement beating at its signature frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, as well as an incredible display of every single piece of the watch laid out before being reassembled one by one.

Less than a month ago, I took my 21 year old Omega Seamaster 300m (wave dial James Bond) to Chrono Sky in Miami, where this same gentleman personally atended me, listen to my every precise direction of what I wanted him to do to my watch, and fulfilled my every wish, going above and beyond, returning to me in a timely fashion, an overhauled and properly running timepiece, for a very reasonable price. Mr. Yuri is not only a "master watchmaker" as can be seen in this video, he is probably a watch geek like most of us, and you can tell from his choice of watch...What makes me leave this comment is the knowledge that the same attention to detail, that he is seen devoting to this Royal Oak Offshore, he applied to my lowly Omega 1120 movement, as it is running within COSC even though like I said it has been in 21 years, more than three times around the World. GRACIAS MAESTRO. Best Regards.

How often should you get your watch serviced..? And how much would it typically cost..?

Rule of thumb ios about a decade (oils) or when it starts looking like it will take more than regulation to keep it in time (timegrapher). Services generally cost more for a watch with more complications, but not always: For example a Daytona service is something like $850 where a Submariner service is something like $1200 IIRC. Cost of service should be considered when watch shopping, just like dealer service when car shopping.
