Kenny and the bucks have always rubbed me the wrong way, and they are friends with Hangman so it would make sense why they would spread this drama. Also they threatened to leave AEW during the altercation after this. Doesn't look good for them
Fully agree, man. Omega and the Young Bucks bring this kind of silly, self-aware, smarky energy to wrestling that has always bothered me. It always felt like they never took themselves or their presentation seriously because they had this tongue-in-cheek attitude of “well, people know it’s staged, so we might as well fuck around.” It seems to me like there’s a divide right now in AEW between guys that take the art of wrestling seriously (Punk, MJF, etc.), and guys that want to have a promotion where they can fuck around with their buddies (Bucks, Omega, Page, etc.).
I initially thought from the way that things were reported that Punk was in the wrong and stirring the pot, but after listening to Cornette’s analysis of the situation, I’m firmly on Punk’s side with all of this. Page went too far off the beaten path in his promo and derailed the segment. Punk gave him a receipt.
Just my take on the situation, though.

This really shone a positive light on Punk for me and I got to side with the guy. For a while the narrative that the media was spreading was that Punk was this backstage pariah leading to animosity, but this makes things alot more clear that friends were defending friends and making Punk to look like a villian. I like TK. I think he is a great booker who loves pro wrestling and he seems approachable and will very often talk to media outlets and even communicate with the fans on Twitter, but he might need Vince's don't fuck with my businesses energy going forward to keep people in line.
There needs to be a mix of both. Vince was too controlling while Tony is just giving too much freedom. There needs to be balance.

He suspended Roman Reigns for violating the Wellness Policy, he fined Steve Austin $250,000 for walking, and the initial fine was more than this. For those who don’t know what happened after this, This gave punk a lot of heat backstage which led to a altercation backstage whether it was physical or verbal and it seemed to happen when Swerve in our Glory did their interviews where a security guard was seen running to the back, the altercation is believe to happened between punk, his coach ace steel, and the young bucks, Tony had no idea what was happening because he was doing the media scrum until afterwards, All of this could be a work but with the current situations going on backstage for the past month or so, it could be real, This also led to The Elite threatening to leave the company because punk was blaming them for “leaking” the news about punk forcing Cabana to leave the company which he denies but would still bash the EVPs(Elite) for doing a bad job for something I can’t remember, I believe some of the things said was real but a part of me says this could be a work(which in my opinion is a bad idea for the company to do)
After watching Denise's video where you can see Tony's facial expressions the whole time I don't think this is a work at all. I don't think he had any idea Punk was going to go there. Hell nobody even asked Punk a question about Colt. He just brought it up because he thought the 1st reporter (who can't be heard on this video) was friends with Colt because they did Improv together.

If you got EVPs and their social circle defaming your top stars, you gotta handle that immediately. The fact that TK doesn’t seem to have a handle on this at all speaks volumes about his ability, or lack thereof, to handle disputes in this organization in a sound way.
The only way this is sensible is if this is a really hard-hitting work angle. I wouldn’t put it past these guys because every wrestler involved does have a track record of extreme commitment to the craft. So they could be using rumors and past, real heat to generate an extremely believable storyline. That being said, such speculation is a pretty big stretch, and it is still risky even if it’s not reality. But right now, I’m gonna go with the idea that this is real.

Meanwhile, the top guy Punk completely loses it and decides to try and bury him despite Colt Cabana not even actually being mentioned by the interviewer asking the question. and also shooting on Hangman Paige for "going rogue" despite the fact once again, NEVER actually mentioned Cabana in his promo?
It's funny you mention that the company is better off with men like those you mentioned, because Punk is nothing like them. Not true - if you listen to Jim Cornette and Brian Last's podcast, they've been saying long before Punk arrived that there were problems with Cody Rhodes and the rest of the EVPs to the point they weren't on talking terms anymore. They also have said that they basically got FTR hired and held them down to make them look bad compared to the Bucks and recent comments from FTR suggest that there is a lot of truth to this. Cornette and Last also said the truth will come out in the wash eventually but people are too scared to speak up just now - they still say it to this day and folk used to think they were bitter and full of BS cos Omega and Bucks are such great guys. Only difference is that they are gradually being proved correct.
The EVPs are the issue here. Because they were the catalyst for foundation and the company was named after them, they think that it is their company.

So Colt Cabana had or has a podcast called the Art of Wrestling and he was actually one of the first wrestling personalities to have a podcast before Jericho or Austin. After CM Punk's infamous departure from WWE in early 2014, Punk went on Cabana's podcast to basically vent and get everything off his chest about what went down in WWE. One of the big things Punk talked about during this episode was how irresponsible the WWE's doctor was with treating Punk's various ailments. Following the podcast the WWE and the doctor sued both Punk and Cabana for defamation. This is where my knowledge gets a little hazy. I think it was during this lawsuit that Punk and Cabana started being contentious with each other. I know that Punk won his lawsuit against WWE but I think Cabana didn't appreciate getting sued and felt that Punk didn't have his back during the lawsuit and Cabana may have lost money and his podcast may have suffered because of the lawsuit so Cabana decided to sue Punk and they've hated each other ever since. Someone can correct what I got wrong.

Was punk being unprofessional. Absolutely but he's speaking facts. No one can put up with BS forever and AEW has failed to solve anything backstage and that's gotta be a priority going forward for the best for the brand. It would help if Tony Khan grew some balls. Punk isn’t being unprofessional. It’s called sticking up for yourself, he’s been quiet about the whole situation and then all of sudden rumors started about Punk backstage. Punk has said time and time again that if they have a problem then to go to him and not do that hiding rumors shit. I would do the same thing. Glad he called them all out!
