memang patut diakui pasar malam di tanjung pinang memiliki daya tarik tersendiri, di samping lokasinya yang dekat dengan pantai, penataan tempat yang bagus dan rapi, dan makanan yg dijajakan sangat variatif, sehingga pengunjung merasa nyaman untuk makan di tempat. bahkan di kota-kota besar lain di indonesia saja, belum ada tempat streetfood atau pasar malam dengan aneka jajanan dalam satu lokasi seperti ini.

oh my you guys actually went to bintan!! bintan is such an amazing place, i stayed there for a short period of time (actually i worked at the resort by the lagoon lol) and it was an unforgettable experience for me so im really glad to see you visited bintan. i hope you tried otak otak and coconut by the beach, it's the best, especially when you watch the sunset. and i just realised when you mentioned indonesia doesn't have many food market outside bintan and batam, or at least it's uncommon in other part of indonesia, that's actually true, you guys got a point😳

You can find such night markets in cities or areas which heavily influenced by Malay culture, such as Bintan, Batam, Medan, and Aceh. The concept is very similar to food hawker center in Singapore and Malaysia.
Actually in other parts of Indonesia, there's such similar concept which is called Pujasera (Pusat Jajanan Serba Ada). In the past, these kind of places are quite popular in major cities in Java. But currently, people tend to go to specific place to eat rather than visit food center.

karna bintan & batam adalah daerah melayu jadi budaya malam streetfood/foodcourt memang seperti singapore/malaysia yang tampak lebih hidup, tertata, terpusat, makanan bervariasi antara makanan china & lokal.
Kepri adalah tanah melayu
Bukan brai
Karena ini night market Ramadhan.
Di kota besar lain juga ada. Night market Ramadhan.
Kalau konsep china mungkin
Di thailand, Vietnam bahkan South Korea juga ada night market.
Karena setelah buka puasa sekalian makan di tempat.
Kalau Jawa / Melayu / atau suku lainnya habis beli ya sholat maghrib di masjid atau bawa pulang.
Selain bulan Ramadhan gak ada, karena buka hanya malam + ribet siapkan makanan tapi sewa sama dengan di kios.
Kalau hanya foodcourt atau tempat makan outdoor semua kota besar ada.

Yup betul TLB.. makanan indonesia banyak dan bermacam-macam kebanyakannya jualan jarak akan lebih bagus bila dibuat pasar malam sprti itu di berbagai daerah dgn fasilitas yang bagus dan nyaman apalagi di kota-kota besar biar wisatawan nyaman lebih efisien pun bt pengusaha lokal. Kiranya pemerintah mengakomodir hal ini.

I'ved been here when it just opened. The entrance fee that time was 100k. I swam only the width of the lagoon and yeah I found out that I was the only one who swam and having onlookers watching me and the were quite surprised and kind of weird looking at me. Good and very happy to know that you guys finally landed here in KEPRI short for Kepulauan Riau. It's part of the Malay Archipelago. I'm from Singapore and have an Indonesian wife. She's Malay asli Batam. You guys should go to Trikora beaches which is located on the eastern most part of Pulau Bintan. Go treckking up Mount Bintan located roughly at the centre of the island itself. There more beaches to at Barelang shorten for Batam, Rempang, Galang and Galang Baru island. These island are connected by 6 bridges and go see the 1st bridge which is the icon of Batam. As for makan be it street food, restaurants or in the mall and food courts, you can taste the varieties of mostly which i can say about half of Indonesian food culture in Batam island itself. I know you guys love the waterfalls too and there's a few but not like other parts of Indonesia that you guys been to. The waterfalls are small in sizes. Wish that I could write more but hope you guys can have the time to find out and explore KEPRI. Wish you guys more success!

Hey, greetings. I’m basically live in Jakarta. And I just wanted to say that Tanjung Pinang food court you went to, with the yellow roof, is only 500 meters walking distance from my grandma's house.
My two cents: instead of going through Batam, you can fly directly to Tanjung Pinang Airport.

Hi Rob Cheyne, This is awesome. you made it to come to Bintan Island. I am in Bintan too. As a matter of fact, I am working in one of the resorts in Bintan Resorts International. I should have seen and known your plan prior to the trip. We should have met in Bintan. I am glad that you both were enjoying your time in Bintan. By the way, on the last video at the beach, it was my former wrok place called Laguna Bintan which consits of Banyan Tree Bintan Resort, Angsana Bintan, Cassia Bintan and Laguna Golf Club. Setahu saya, ada 2 jenis gonggong. Pertama gonggong pasir(laut) yg hidup di pasir laut dekat pantai, dan kedua gonggong bakau(mangruf) yang hidup di lumpur rawa hutan bakau. Gomggong pasir bercangkang mengkilap dengan corak warna, sedangkan gonggong bakau bercangkang kusam berearna putih polos.
Keduanya bisa makan?
