Absolutely no noise or whistles. The heaviest thing I’ve put on it is kayaks so I’ve not experienced flex. I would do like someone recommended and cut some 1/2” conduit and put around the bolts for extra support. I’ve not done it and had no problems. But it wouldn’t hurt especially for heavy loads.
He literally has it all spelled out in the text description of the video. If you didn't read that you probably won't read this, but it's Unistrut, same as Superstrut brand. Strut channel is the generic term. Available anywhere that sells electrical conduit and stuff like that.

Rack is working amazing! Bed liner is holding up good, carries my kayak just fine.

Hey thanks for asking! I was worried about a whistling noise or a loud humming noise but you cannot hear these at all! And they work great.
