    Why not take a sample bag it, and test it at a lab? Take a few seconds to do

      Theres no way around this. Tar should just be banned from pitchers bullpen completely. No reason for it being there. Hope the Mets can adjust without him and keep hitting

      Why test it in a lab, after you’ve already ejected him? No point in testing it. If it’s sticky, it’s illegal. Testing it in a lab would take more time than simply feeling for a sticky substance

    Next 10 games are. 2 against the Yankees. 3 Astros. 4 In Washington and 1 In Pittsburgh. Right now, the Mets are 37 - 39 2 games under .500.

    Fix the ball! And in the meantime. If the glove is ok that means he’s not hiding anything. He should be ordered to wash his hands. The Mets would be handed a delay of game penalty, perhaps a free runner in first base. No ejection if there is no deception!

    Automatic 10-game ban is odd, he has not been found guilty yet, he is ejected so that's the punishment as is - he should be allowed to play until the case is held surely

      He has a chance to appeal it. If he does he'll be able to play until the league rules on it. But you can very clearly see he has something on there. Which is why he will most likely not appeal the suspension.

    This is beyond asinine. Players should be made to forfeit their games' salaries for equipment-related suspensions. If you feel like you have to cheat to get through three batters on a fourth-place team, with a combined average of .216, then maybe it's time to find another career. The only good thing about this incident is that it took Drew Smith about ten minutes to get ready ...

    So, thrown out of ten more games for no actual sticky substance on anything. No impounding his glove or uniform or any ball. But he sits for ten games 'cause some ump was iffy somewhat. Did other umps fall over themselves agreeing? Due process must just be for the whiter players.
