So I just looked up what these guys are up to today. The girl who made the doc did an interview with GQ and mentioned some of the guys (EDIT: I can’t seem to post a direct link because they get deleted. Search “GQ Shy Boys IRL interview” and it should be the first result). She did say that the forum and some of the guys here were WAY worse than how they’re shown on film.

as a woman with some disorders that make me a bit “different“ yes, people who are normal do not understand the stuff we go through socially. In my case, I don’t really like most people. I have had boyfriends- I have had friends. I felt out of place in friend groups and I always ended up being unable to relate to my partner. I am extremely picky because I have an inability to get along with extremely different viewpoints. Though im not reclusive and love going on runs, window shopping and getting out in fresh air and going to the skate rink or library, I am mostly solitary. Sometimes, the inability to find that relatable person leaves me very upset and angry. And it really does seem like most “normal” people live on instinct and are consistently and naturally mean or dismissive to people like me. Problem is these guys think it’s their looks. It’s not their looks. It’s the fact that the world doesn’t like awkwardness. And instead of accepting that, and trying to find their more tight niche communities, they insist on trying to “fit in” and demand this 10/10 popular perfect person in their life when they can hardly ask for ketchup packets at a restaurant. I’m sure if you told them “you might meet someone in a clubhouse group (a place for mentally impaired individuals) they’d tell you to fuck off bc they can’t accept someone who accepts that they’re impaired. Something they refuse to admit to themselves. No no, they’re too good to be seen with a self admitted autistic.
I have some mental health issues & people freak out when I openly discuss them. But I have a wonderful family & a fiance who adores me so those type of people don't mean shit. I'm very proud of you for choosing to be honest because I know how difficult that can be!! You seem very strong & I admire that!! ❤

I guess sometimes we all get lost in new experiences. We sink ourselves with great insecurity, but to us, it may feel unfair to be unrequited, and that's the burden we carry as human beings, I suppose in a sense.

I’m getting a 7-8 hour psyche evaluation done in about a week so I’ll finally know for sure. it’s hard to navigate life and socialize when my personal understandings and expectations rarely meet the reality of things. Im lucky for disability, because my work track record makes it almost impossible for me to get hired. Jobs say they have to accommodate disability but they don’t. Not only do people not understand those with mental disabilities, often times they take advantage of us when it comes to trying to make friends. So it can leave one quite bitter though for ones own mental health, it’s best to breathe and look for diamonds in the rough. Because I’ve found cynicism or the whole “black pill” rhetoric makes everything worse and solves nothing.

The only thing that fixed him is when he met someone. He was planning suicide 2 days prior. We don't talk anymore since he met her.

People with low self esteem shouldn't be made fun of because of that, yes. But I don't believe that's what is happening with incels. I'm someone with low self esteem. I have multiple problems that I don't know how to fix. But I'm under no illusion that my life isn't also my responsibility. If I don't find a way to deal with it, no one will for me.
The thing that people dislike about incels is how they blame others for their misfortune. Crazy conspiracy theories, and a lot of contempt. And you really don't need to lift weights to find a partner. Basic hygiene, a somewhat likeable personality, and the will to live is really enough.
That being said: Yes, they should be treated with therapy, and maybe try medication. If you get to a point where you wish you would never have existed, why would you not try something? What do you have to lose?

I was told I was "slow" by someone in NYC because I talk slowly in english. Until I got a phone call of my mother, who speak french only. She was with my grandmother who was confused at the hospital. My grandmother only understood Russian because she had dementia. I also told them that the mother of my kids, who I met in Germany who only knew German the first few years we were dating. Someone who speak slowly doesn't always mean stupid. Sometimes, it means english isn't their native language. I speak, write, read and speak 4 languages, so speaking slowly mean nothing.

I was looking for this comment. I thought he had good genes. I think he has Nordic genes but with dark hair. On a grown man that is smokin hot! He looked like a guy in a metal band, but a bit younger like 18-19. By 25 he would be looking handsome(and no body hair is a HUGE plus). The film to me felt like the movie Stand By Me. That will not change them... they are unable to socialize, which in turn also negatively affects other social aspects of their life. These include romance and bonding and empathy. It does not matter how good or terrible you look if you do not have any social skills. And after a certain age... it's too late to change things.
Good quality parenting more importantly will make a huge difference in children’s lives - including noticing their kid’s behavioural shortfalls and getting them support early - and it’s never too late to get help but they just need to realise and be honest with themselves that they the help

On one hand they need a more long term presence in their life reminding them of the fact that women are pretty much just like them and there’s no reason to be scared of them or think they’re terrible. On the other hand the facts of getting into relationships remain, you need to be relatively clean and decently presented and attend some social events like sport or music etc. It’s difficult to both be slow and understanding and just tell them the actual change needed because if you say their issue is simple they won’t react well but if you take it slowly they’re liable to miss it or ignore it.

Intellectually, they already know what they have to do, it's just that it's far harder for them than it is for most people. And that advise as to come from people who actually understand their situation and now how to cope with their issues.
What they need is finding an inclusive IRL community with a good gender ratio, and maybe professionnal conceling. Their situation is not hopeless but it's gonna be hard for them to get better.

I've talked to women that are like obese with no job and been declined before. But regardless the highest status I can get is hookup. They care a lot more about things like how much money I make. They don't just ask you straight up. I'm in the military and that makes them want to talk to me, but when they find out I don't make much it sort of shows (i cant afford for us to do a lot). Most girls I talk to aren't even like really good at hiding how they feel. They have no experience talking to people, without the other person treating them like a child.

Some things definitely help though. I fixed my fucked nose and I am getting a lot more attention now than before. A big part is the confidence boost you get of course, but it's also in the small interactions like a cashier smiling a tad happier than before. I don't think it is a solution for many people's problem, actually I think it could make plenty of people more self conscious because you start to think about what has to change next or something. But I do think that for certain people, it can be a real game changer.

Many stars need to align for people to get together, you have to be attracted to them physically and emotionally and they also have to feel the same way about you. I think when people are in a relationship they can’t imagine what it’s like to be single and they don’t realize the miracle that is romantic relationships. Same way for business. One small conversation because you decided to get out into the world and do something new can lead to a new business relationship that lasts many years or makes a massive impact on your business.
