Life in Australia has been absolutely brutal recently. Record rains, record cold, record heat, ALL IN THE SAME YEAR.
Animal agriculture is the leading cause of every aspect of climate change. Greenhouse gas emissions, soil erosion, water table depletion, habitat loss, aquifer pollution, desertification, biodiversity loss, everything. According to the UN Council on Climate Change, switching to a plant-based diet is the biggest impact any individual can make on climate change, more than all other impacts combined.

There's no way that Josh isn't genius level intelligent. Most comedians take quite a while, on quite a few different stages, to work out a set and still have to bring notes on stage to remember where they're going next. This man is coming out with brand new 20-30 min sets every week and just performing them flawlessly. I can't even begin to comprehend how he does it. He certainly is the voice we need right now. Can we get this man the millions of subscribers he deserves, please?!
Josh can do this because he does standup the same way I do, he goes in with a general idea of what he wants to talk about then just fireballs it, he rarely repeats jokes for this reason
He says he studies all current news stories in his free time to prepare for his next set. I don't think he writes and memorizes jokes, he just collects topics and stories to talk about and is naturally funny at delivering his knowledge/view of them.

I've seen him in person twice around the same time on his tour to CA alone, then opening for Trevor Noah and they were pretty much the same jokes. I still laughed bc I love his jokes lol. However, I think his standup is a mix of both written/memorized and fireballing it.

I remember when my friend had her first apartment in brooklyn, we would set up something in the living room that we called the "fan zone". But the bathroom was down the hallway, so you had to leave the living room, go out of the apartment, into the hallway, and down to the bathroom. You had to leave the "fan Zone"
My house has a ground floor and a basement, with no air con whatsoever. The ground floor is currently unbearably hot, and you need to wear layers to spend more than a minute in the basement; the only pleasant part of the house is halfway down the damn stairs! 😄

Josh has been a writer on the Daily Show for years now. That’s how I first discovered him
As young as he is, Josh Johnson is already a Master Craftsmen. Five minutes into this video and I'm already amazed at how Josh is still getting better, he got me again! So beautifully crafted that it makes it hard to figure out how he's able to come up with so much funny material yet so quickly hone & memorize another new set. He's got other jobs too, so his productivity level is unbelievable. I have the ultimate respect for his skill & craftmanship.
Besides the immense talent, there's something really refreshing about Josh's shows: he doesn't swear! Every other word is not "f*ck". I cannot, for the life of me, understand why otherwise intelligent people think swearing gives them style or personality...

@mirny1509 😔 the sanctuary rescued a few cows a few years back, to keep the grasses low in the meadows at the top of the mountain, so that it if another fire comes close to them, it'll still be farther away from last time. And the fired dept ust visited and ran a check last week.

Well, here in Belgium, when I moved about 15 years ago, I was promised rainy summers.
It delivered the first years, but lately, it can get so hot we start to complain and miss winter.

Real talk, Josh as host of the Daily Show *sounds* like a fantastic pairing, but Josh's sense of humor is at his best when he's in control of what to say and about what topics, and I worry the Daily Show would force him to do certain shit he wouldn't want to do or didn't think was funny or shoot down jokes.
I am hugely pro-Josh Johnson, which is why I'm a little "anti-Josh Johnson for host of Daily Show".

This man literally inspired me to start writing comedy bits and i hear his cadence in my own writing and even just conversation thank you for being a good chill up-to-date in-the-middle comedian and giving it to us just straight w both facts and then hitting the punch every time 🫡🫡

I've been married for 16 years. It's not really *spite* it's just like having the same roommate for that long but you know the lease is never going to end. But you love them and you don't want them to leave, but that's also the worst part. You know you want them there but they are always doing the dumbest stuff that you would kick any other roommate out for and *you can't even threaten to kick them out*. You have to just tell them over and over to not leave their shoes here or not do this or that. And otherwise they are amazing but this *one thing* that didn't matter that much for 15 years all of a sudden just started getting under your skin enough because they haven't learned to use the coat rack yet and *it's been 15 years*. (None of these are my real nit pick)
I resented the fact that my ex was making me turn into a nag, so I decided that anything of his that I found that was out of place was going on the floor next to his side of the bed. In order to get to and from the bed, he would have to pick up his stuff. It helped a bit

100% on the hot weather from beginning to end. I have to commute early, and as soon as it's warm, weird people will be outside when I used to be alone in the mornings. Suddenly I am scared to be out in the dark. Two weeks ago some lady rushed up at me, sweating so hard, red all over, and asked if I had even one smoke like she was looking for a missing child. I'm like "do I give that strong a sense that I smoke, that you also think I'm hoarding?" Suddenly all the mostly naked (and not like, it's hot, I'm going to wear small clothing, but like a significant item is just not being worn) heavily tatted up, tweaking, angry, smell like piss, but also wearing something super warm like a wool blanket, and maybe 1/5 doing hard drugs just out in the open... appear. They were never around in March. But July, it's like hell opened up and they're all going where you're going.
Wow! That's something! I thought it was bad in my town. That sounds worse than San Francisco or Oakland, and they've been getting a bad rap.

I moved into a new apartment…and I don’t know WHAT this building is made out of but the heat does not get in. I don’t even turn on the AC! It’s not insane hot outside, we’re usually at 28-32 Celsius (which is normal hot for Ontario now) but in my old building I had AC on 24/7 bc that heat got IN. this new building is scary I didn’t even have to turn on the AC when we hit 36! I’m probably in trouble come Canadian winter lmao. Though admittedly, last winter we barely dropped below 0 degrees. Hahaha. Ha.

They always said "Happy wife, happy life", and... I didn't get it, when I was younger. I think some part of me understood, because I always hated being around other girls, I preferred guy friends, but I get it now, as an adult. Like some girls, I think might not realize... what they do that hurts other people sometimes, but a good chunk of us... love drama. That's something I've noticed to, a lot of women are very loud, we're very vocal about what we want, and we want things the way we want it, a lot of the time, I feel like we don't really consider another person's feelings in the moment? Like we get all caught up in our heads like this is a theme, this is what I want, colors, style... and then we might have... a brother, a father, a fiancé... that wants to be a part of something we're planning, and we automatically say "You can do this to help", but we really don't want their help, because we already know what we want.
I understand now, seeing other women, being around other women, watching other women... "happy wife happy life" isn't a saying, it's a warning 😂😂
Women can be mean as hell, you do not want a constantly angry woman in your household, those fights will not be pretty.
