  • 1 Treehouse, 2 people, 10 ostriches and MILLIONS fresh fruits. Welcome to the Eco Treehouse part of the Eco Farmhouse in Muranga County, Kenya. This 500 acres piece of land is a fully functioning fruit farm where they grow, dragon fruits, mangos, oranges, bananas and so much more. If you can think about it, they probably grow it!
    We stayed in their beautiful treehouse accommodation. 2 bedrooms, a nice little kitchen and a large living room and dining area. And let's not forget the massive deck with a stunning view.
    But what can you do on the farm, well let me tell you all about it! First of all the farm aspect is very interesting and they will be more than happy to show you around. There is also 10 ostriches which are pretty friendly, especially if you have some snacks for them of course. Bees are also a big part of the farm and if you ask nicely, you might get a spoonful of honey. Finally, the insect farming is also quite unique and is worth a the detour.
    For a little romantic weekend getaway or to have a good time with friends, the Eco Farmhouse is a great spot to spend a few days.

    Those are custard apples, also known as sugar apples, sweet-sop or Cherimoya, they are delicious and have a lot of health properties. Some people claim that they also have anticancer properties. We used to have 3 trees in our home in Nairobi.

    This was a timely video showcasing counties not necessarily known in Kenya as tourist counties or places, thanks for unearthing these hidden gems. Murang'a is my home county. The dry part of Murang'a is the Northern side, the Southern part is chilly and that can be seen from the tea grown in the Southern part. As you head South, you are literally in the Aberdare ranges which can be seen from that side. Fun fact number one, mangoes are widely availble in Murang'a, every household has a mango tree. In high school we literally went to the school farm with bags to collect mangoes that had fallen to the ground. Fun fact number 2, Murang'a is where majority of Nairobi water comes from, from the biggest reservoir called Ndakaini.

    • @DaveMani
      @DaveMani  Před 2 lety +2

      That is awesome! Glad you enjoy the video. We are doing our best to find places like this which are a little outside of main stream tourism :)

    • @chriswamahiu8751
      @chriswamahiu8751 Před rokem

    Thanks for the vlog.👍 Nice intro. 👍 Music🎶👍. Thumbnail. 👍 Eco Treehouse tour 👍 The treehouse is certainly airy. Popcorn 🍿 Farm Tour👍 Ostriches. What were the names of the ostriches? Did they have ostrich eggs? Why are they not breeding? Bees.🐝 Did I hear right stingless bees? I have read they give the best honey. 🍯 I can't confirm. Did you go back with honey? Do they use solar? The Eco Farmhouse is a fruits paradise. Wow. Beautiful Landscape views. 👍Tracy was certainly enjoying the fruit picking and eating. Can the place be called an orchard? Insect farming👍 is certainly impressive. The food & fruits looked delicious. Chefs Tracy 👩‍🍳 & Dave 👨‍🍳. 👍You both had a great experience. Thanks for all the detailed information. Can't wait for the next one. 👏🏻 Have a good afternoon & week. Stay safe.

      Not sure what their name was :( loll
      No Eggs, no breeding YET!
      Yes stingless bees. They are super tiny.
      I prefer the honey of normal bees tho.
