- Sigh ... I can't believe how many times it took me to complete the first level. I can't believe how Capcom vs SNK 2 arcade mode would make me so FRUSTRATED like this. This challenge is very difficult and I want you guys to try it out too! (Feel my pain)

I was so upset to discover how bad Kyosuke was when the game first came out and I tried to use him in local tourneys. He was my favorite character in Rival Schools.
And it was the debut of RS in a 2d fg. I also knew the series before CvS, and was hype finding him in the game at first.
@vmfb87 His moves seemed weak and slow/laggy compared to the 3d game
@vmfb87 Although oddly enough the opposite happened, when 2d SF characters transitioned to 3d/2.5d in SF4 they seemed to almost feel exactly the same. They all felt easy to just pick up and play.
Way back in the day i played kyosuke at e3 with a test build and he was pretty decent then. He had different animations for his moves and they came out a lot faster. Also they had a build with ex moves at one point but that's another story.
He sucks in rival schools.. out of all characters, why would he be your favorite? Lmao
9:07 Lol! Anytime Shin Akuma magically recovers from stun, in less than a second, and immediately attacks afterwards, it leaves the player bewildered. I know this from personal experience too.😂

Now fight Ultimate/God Rugal with the worst SNK team. Do note that he's tougher than Shin Akuma/Gouki.

God Rugal is slower than Shin Akuma though. He can't teleport his way though everything the way Akuma could. On the other hand, he does hit like a freight train.
@@tcchip you must never played CVS2 then, because he can, I use to play with him, his teleport is exactly the same as akumas, there isn't a hitbox is that moment.
And wrong shin akuma is not faster, they basically balanced with speed and power, the only difference they have is techniques which are changed.
yea right. shin akuma was seriously more impossible to deal with in OG arcade! but got nerfed somewhat when he was brought in console!

The funny thing is that either chat didn't know or trolled him fierce-- he could have fought Shin Akuma on the 1st try. If you beat Osaka with at least 1300GP, then there is a bonus stage with the boss pre super form. He had 1472GP all he had to do was win and avoid all that pain.

Actually, he HAD to get a Finest(Dramatic) KO against either Akuma or Rugal to make it go to the boss fight in that 1st try, I don't know if Groove Points matter in a situation without a Finest KO finish (heck, I think I have to give that a go myself to confirm that statement).
However, there are 3 conditions to get straight to the boss fight, you need to complete 2 of them, get 1500 GP or more by the end of the normal final stage, defeat either Geese or Bison/Vega(Dictator) and finally, get a finest(Dramatic) KO (I suggest you for this particular condition that you get at least 2)

Have at least 1500 Groove Points
Defeat M. Bison or Geese
Get at least one Finest K.O.
Don't lose a round

From memory Max did a playthrough of this game and got similarly owned this game is supposed to be like the best ridiculously wicked standard fighting game and the numbers on the timer bring back memories of a lot of players suffering on this game and feeding stupid amounts of quarters to this game for the "Mark of the Millennium" tournament which also happened to be the mark of giving SNK a boatload of cash by making their Arcade mode both entertaining and nearly impossible!
I could be mistaken but it looks like the game...

I get your feelings, but to be totally fair it's a whole different deal (literally) to handle a crossover title, compared to a title that is a 100% owned brand (like Darkstalkers).
@vmfb87 not for PS4, its hasent been available since the PS3 and it's store. as it stands i have to be content with SF 3rd strike or Alpha 3 because they are in the Street Fighter30th anniversary edition.
We totally need a collection with SVC Chaos, Capcom vs. SNK Pro, and Capcom vs. SNK 2.
shin akuma has always recovered instantly from stun since SST2.
I wished Capcom would rerelease an HD version of this game on modern consoles with challenges like this.

Shin Akuma BGM is still to this day an all out favorite to those that played this game!

8:33 The extra throw damage doesn't make any sense compared to the other shoto's throws cuz it's like they are doing the same exact thing and it has the same trajectory as Ryu or regular Akuma. Maybe Shin Akuma is pinching his opponent really really hard when he grabs them to throw them and that extra pinch causes the extra damage. Hopefully SF6 has a pinching character who does real nuggies and charlie horses.
It breaks down to one phrase... "the game is cheating..."
Remember that the bosses are ratio 4 characters.

I think that the 1500 points are not so important, I was playing recently and Shin Gouki appeared with less than 800 points XD it seems to me that it is more important to do a super finish or a dramatic k.o. and that Geese or Vega challenge you before the finals. Anyway, I loved how you played with Dan at the end XDD

Try it on the second fastest speed. That's what a friend and I used to play on with custom grooves with everything unlocked except for special into special, with roll or dodge. One groove was C with roll, the other was N with dodge.
Very fun times

It would be nice... on EITHER Love Max!!! or Love Max Six Stars!!!! Xtend (because that way he never gets the "pity" retry health nerf on Parace at the start of the matches after failing a few times and is literally you win whenever the game feels like it).
To be fair, Yun can actually do work and was in Top 8 if I recall on one of the Evo tapes. He stuns fast and has good mix up. Just good luck getting in on top-tier lol.

Not sure what I found more entertaining, beating Shin Akuma with that team or Justin trying not to swear.

One the best fighters of all time.
For anyone wondering on how to fight the true boss characters, here are the reccomendations:
1. Don't let the opponent hit you first 6 times in the entire run
2. Must have 1500+ Groove points near the end
3. Do a Finest KO or Dramatic KO
4. Must do lots of Super KOs
5. Fight and win against the mid-boss. If your mid-boss is M.Bison or Vega, you will fight Shin Akuma or Shin Gouki in the end. If you instead fight Geese Howard, you will fight Ultimate Rugal or God Rugal in the end.
6. If your groove is C,A, or P and your playing as any Capcom character, you will fight Shin Akuma or Shin Gouki. If your groove is S,N, or K and your playing as any SNK character, you will fight Ultimate Rugal or God Rugal.
To do a Finest KO or Dramatic KO, here are the ways to do it:
1. Do a super when the opponent does a special move
2. Do a Level 3 super against a stunned or taunting enemy (Shun Goku Satsu is not allowed)
3. Do a Level 3 super when the opponent is doing a super (either if the enemy does a level 1,2, or 3 super {make sure the enemy's super doesn't hit you [Shun Goku Satsu is not allowed]})
I honestly didn't know that ALL of this was necessary lol
Yeah, the main conditions are the No.2, No.3 and No.5 (but for No.5 is a mix of No.1 and the opponent cannot win more than 3 rounds with ANY special KO type... that includes Dramatic/Finest KOs) but for what boss you fight... is pure RNG (about Shin Akuma and Ultimate Rugal) but that statement kinda manipulates who you fight a little bit, the No.6 stuff... that statement kinda manipulates said RNG to make that happen easier sometimes, but you're still at the mercy of the RNG (I have done that so many times that I can't count them and for the most part this stuff didn't work for me and almost always ended up fighting Shin Akuma).
@@PikangsFutaba yea, ur kinda right about the RNG thing. I did like a run with P-groove and C-groove with a SNK character, and still managed to fight Shin Akuma. I also found out that having 1500+ groove points and doing a lot of Super KOs and beating the mid-boss would still get you to fight the hidden bosses without the need of the Dramatic KO or Finest KO.
According to my experience I think the most important points are 3, 4 and 5. But 5 is not exactly like that, recently in a playthrough Geese challenged me as mid boss but in the end Shin Akuma appeared.

I remember playing this on PS2 and Ult.Rugal downloaded me. I couldn't beat him and he was pissing me off! I threw my control at my entertainment system and broke it. 😂

Air fireballs from Kyosuke always helped against the secret bosses.
3:30 he got over 1400 GPS and finished with a Dramatic/Finest KO, but didn't get Shin Akuma or even Ultimate Rugal. The reason why is that he didn't qualify for the Sub bosses Bison or Geese
Oh yeah... the classic Shin Akuma stun status last less than 1 micro-second since the SSF2T days (of course, regular Akuma in most games has normal stun status like in Alpha 2, but of course, Shin Akuma as a boss character has that advantage), love how Justin didn't learn from the last time he did the fight in that regard.
Makes me miss the arcades

The first time I played through this game, I thought, "Man, this wasn't so tough." Then I fought Shin Akuma... He gave me an ungodly ass whooping lol. First match, I die from a double fireball, hurricane kick, uppercut combo. The second match, I threw a fireball, and then I got hit with the chop super. Completely wiped my bar out from a single counter move. I was dumb founded. 😂😂
It's the style Capcom used in SFA3. 95% of the arcade run is fair even on hardest mode, but then comes Shin Bison... A contrast from ST Ai which is meant to make the whole run hard.

I got to either God Rugal or Shin Akuma under 1000 gp. All you need to do is first attack all matches, defeat mid-boss and at least 1 FINEST K.O. and you're ok.
