This is an amazing story. Really happy for them.
I stuttered all my life. I still do. I'm 38 now. It knocked my confidence growing up as a kid in Nigeria until I told myself I wasn't gonna be bothered about it any more.
Today I'm a doctor in the UK with a wife and two kids.
Getting over it may not be as easy
as Steve says. But even if you don't get over it, you can still be all you can be even if you stuttered. People are just gonna have to deal with it.
There's no point feeling sad if you have a stutter. No point whatsoever.
Go out there and be the best version of yourself.
I'm 18 and a stutterer. And everyone tells me it's not a big thing and it's ok to stutter and such things. But they don't know the pain.

Yoo man I stutter too and am 36 and I still stutter, I really don't care what people think about me cos is part of me forever and am not afraid to speak in public or to people

I have wondered about that as well. Almost all of them wear really nice clothing, have their hair and makeup done. It's very refreshing to see actually.

i am a stutterer too... The techniques Steve has told, i think it can help me too.. He is absolutely right that no one can understand the pain we feel and no one knows the battle we are fighting with ourselves... I will surely try the techniques and hopefully i can get better too and can find love as well like Alanie because i couldn't get the courage to talk to any girl as i was afraid that she can laugh at my stuttering. I can relate to them. I struggled stuttering to the point I couldn’t say anything. Now I can talk in front of large groups of people I still stutter but I’ve gotten a lot better. Reading out loud helps as well.

My daughter stuttered when she was a toddler and she grew out of it. What's amazing is that her dad stuttered and he grew out of it. His family would say, "Take your time." They would repeat that phrase until he stopped. Amazing

Thats crazy my son studdered until about 6, i think he was just excited. Id tell him the samething...in a sweet voice id say....take your time baby, and think aboit what u gonna say....ready? And then he would speak clearer. Low and behold, thats basically Steves advise. Thank you Lord for giving me the wisdom in that moment to help my son.

I am all in tears because I can relate to her story. It helped me understand the struggles my husband has/had with stuttering. When we dated 10 years ago, like she said I kept saying it was cute and he was always annoyed with me. 10 years later we are married with 3 beautiful kids and his stuttering is no more. Great story Steve, I am so happy that this guest appeared on your show. Seems like a good dude has found her and I really am rooting for them. Such a perfect love story! ...happy tears

I had a studder in my younger years. I kept to myself. I started reading a lot. I noticed that I didn't studder while reading to my self or righting. I started writing out my day. Then I found an old singer type writer, in the consignment section of the gas station where I sold hot pepper for extra money. I traded all my sales for one summer to buy it. I must have run that ribbon twenty thousand times.
I found out how formulate my sentences by for typing them down. No back space back then. I learned to comprise what I was trying to articulate before committing to it.

Hey Steve my name is Barbara Robinson I'm a fan ofI'm hoping you'll see my comments are someone will get the word to you that I'm I'm trying to have a surgery done because I have lymphedema I haven't been up to bed and I'll couple of years I've been trying to get help and I don't want to die likeI'm working on getting gastric bypass surgery but I don't work because of the lymphedema and the income I get is not enough to make it every month and what I get a spin selling the house I'm not allowed to buy myself anything new but I'm so swollen right now that I can't fit into nothing I crochet thingsI mean clothes baby clothes they catched booties you name it I do it pocketbooks hats pants blouses I would love to meet you I can't walk I would wonder if you could send someone from your staff I'd rather will meet you you're one I'm one of your greatest fan 😉 😉😎😘😘

I feel like stuttering is simply a manifestation of anxiety. I suffer from social anxiety and mine manifests itself in chronic muscle tension as well as in depression and automatic negative thoughts. I also stutter but only occasionally in social situations when I get super anxious. Steve is right. Theres nothing wrong with you. You just gotta work on the anxiety and the stuttering wil be cured.

Been struggling my whole live with stutter. In the end op high school I had to decide what do i want to do in college. I always wanted to work as a administration worker. I didn't do it cause I've been told that I couldnt cause i can't come out of my words properly. So i decided to do sales. After 2 years of feeling unhappy i finally decided to atop with work and go to school to finish my administration education. I am not thinking now that my stutter is a problem, but it is a gift from God to grow and to learn to be confident and to love myself. You can do anything just believe in yourself!

Have you tried the technique Steve mentioned, by any chance? I'm interested in hearing people's experiences with this technique. I don't have a stutter myself, but I have friends who stutter so this might be a good technique to share.
