    Andretti Drop BOMBSHELL On F1!
It feels like just yesterday we were going to post a video explaining the strengths of the Andretti bid to enter F1, how they were continuing to push on with preparations to demonstrate they will be a strong addition to the paddock and will be able to keep up pretty convincingly, perhaps even surpassing the dregs of the grid in short order… Oh wait that was yesterday. That’s. Right, woe is us, we had a video within 5 percent of uploading because we firmly believed that nobody who truly cared about the Fans, the sport or the quality of the grid could possibly turn down the Andretti bid. So why then did they get turned down? Surely FOM, liberty and the teams have a rock solid case that is not at all translucent and dismissive? Well, if you ask Andretti, members of the paddock and most importantly the fans, that does not appear to be the case at ALL.
Want to know why the Andretti bid got rejected? If you want to believe the reasoning feel free, but we think it’s a load of hogwash! And stick around, because some members of the paddock think Andretti is going to hit back HARD.
In today's video we look at Andretti Drop BOMBSHELL On F1!..Keep watching to see f1, f1 news, andretti, mercedes, lewis hamilton, ferrari, gm, red bull

100% agree but i also think there's pressure from top manufactures behind closed doors and given Ferrari's history i'd guarantee they're probably at the top of the list of teams fighting to keep this from happening. the money behind Andretti and Cadillac would make them a podium competitor within a couple years and none of the major teams want that. just look at what the teams did to team Haas when they followed every single rule set in front of them then decided to change the rules knowing they'd never have the funding to be competitive again.

If you read the reasons behind the decision it makes sense, they would build a car with no experience, no real understanding of the data from windtunnel, ontop of building around a custom engine they bought lastminute? and then redo everything to try and be competetive years later? it makes no sense saying they would be, and andretti would gain more from it than F1 and its governing structure ontop of extra costs for every track building extra hangar garages etc.
not sure if you are daft or anything but it totaly makes sense that someone who never built an F1 car, never read or had upgrades produced, they dont even understand the car because they have no car to be competitive within 365days with testing, building, hireing, getting drivers, them used to car, set up a simulator etc etc? please dont be arrogant. 2026 could be a stretch but 2028 seems normal if they really want to be in F1 and do it right.

Look. The reason you talk about having very little time for development is complete BS. Haas did the same back in 2016 and rule changed in 2017. They constructed two cars and were fine with it. While bad car development is a possibility, it's not a reason. It is the same as you are not allowed to have surgery because you may die from the surgery.
And guess what, they also use ferrari's custom engine. They have time to have a head start as there is rule which states that current F1 team cannot develop the car 2 years ahead. This is trying to level the playing field.
Also, no one was competitive straight away. The team license that red bull inherited from Stewart F1 was not competitive at all when they started. Andretti is extremely experienced and passionate in car racing. They won indycar, IMSA, formula E races and championships. They are more experienced. They also have big support from GM. If they are also not good enough of a profile, you may as well just state that F1 bar from all competitions and not accept any new team no matter what.

    • @drphibesrises
      @drphibesrises Před 4 měsíci +5

@@artie8561 Right on Artie. These are some of the points I was thinking about. They have teams in so many forms of racing and have a multitude of experience in being competitive. They already have a prototype F1 car. Andretti didn't just wake up one day and say "I think we should race in F1" They have been planning this for many years. For those who missed out, another user @AntisnakeYT posted a reply saying that the decision made sense. It was such an arrogant post. He then tells me to "not be arrogant" When all I said was the decision was BS in my original post. He rambled on about why it made sense. I swear he took the words from another video he saw on CZcams. He then tries to insult me by calling me "daft" He doesn't know what he is talking about in F1.
      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
F1 and Liberty made this decision, not the FIA. The management of F1 think they are elite and probably have their pockets filled with money from the other teams. The other teams whine that they will get less money at the end of the season, which is true, but I think they are afraid that Andretti would make a formidable challenger. Andretti is not going to just accept this and will fight. I am 100% behind them. We need another American team in F1. They want the American market, but not willing to actually make F1 more exciting by having the top teams and drivers competing with each other. Red Bull ran away with it in 2023. That was boring. The only good race of the season was Las Vegas. RB won but there was some exciting racing. That is what fans want to see.

I've never actually seen anyone actually use "Catch 22" as an written argument until now.
You need to be competitive to join F1.
To prove you're competitive you need to race
We're not going to allow you to race because your not competitive
    Logic of Catch 22
The archetypal catch-22, as formulated by Joseph Heller, involves the case of John Yossarian, a U.S. Army Air Forces bombardier, who wishes to be grounded from combat flight.
This will only happen if he is evaluated by the squadron's flight surgeon and found "unfit to fly".
"Unfit" would be any pilot who is willing to fly such dangerous missions, as one would have to be mad to volunteer for possible death.
However, to be evaluated, he must request the evaluation, an act that is considered sufficient proof for being declared sane.
These conditions make it impossible to be declared "unfit".

Look at Haas, 2 of the last 3 years in last and one of those with 0 point. Maybe F1 needs to look at the value some of those bottom teams are bringing to the sport and maybe consider pulling their spot it they can't mix it up better and place more points in the championship. If F1 only wants 10 teams then they should regulate the current ones with the same standard that is keeping Andretti out.

They could boot 7 teams and not change the percentages of whos winning. F1 has become a sport of rules change, one team figures it out early, team takes advantage and wins all the time, then they change the rules again so someone else gets the advantage. A truly competitive series would not have a single driver win almost every event in a season and never even be challenged.

The laate, great, Charlie Whiting told me personally at the PRI Show in 2016 at Indy that F1 is setup to allow 24 cars to start, IE :12 teams. To say that F1 would bring more value to the Andretti brand than vice versa is ludicrous. Mario is an F1 driving champion. The Andretti Cadillac team would bring way more good will to the F1 brand so F1 blew it on this one (greed perhaps?) and I expect Andretti to take this several steps further in a legal battle. Even with Renault supplying the engines until the Cadillac is ready, it would be a big shot in the arm to have 2 Andrett cars on the starting grid in 2025/2026. This is a slap to the face of Andretti, period.

Unlike Haas, who had LIMITED success only in NASCAR prior to Stewart joining that ownership and then joining F1, the Andretti Motorsports game is open wheel racing. They're already competitive in their main field of IndyCar and have partnered with Wayne Taylor Racing, another successful and competitive team in IMSA! But the open wheel experience at Andretti is the key. They know how to make those cars work in IndyCar, which is far more spec than F1, and I have no doubt they can do it in F1 with in house parts.

"Formula One revenue has increased 24 per cent year-over-year (YoY) to US$887 million in the third quarter of 2023."
If Andretti would come with a bunch of sponsors, witch will increase this revenue for the Formula One for another 10% raise, Formula One and the teams would accept an eleventh team, because ist pays the prize money itself.
Andretti did not so the F1 would not gain any more money, so either the teams would have to accept 9.1% loss in prize money, or more likely the F1 and Liberty Media would have to reduce their revenue. Nobody wants to loses money! So Andretti has to bring additional revenue into the business, for 2026 that would be about 100 to 120 million US$ of extra sponsor money to the Formula One (!), his own Andretti-Team sponsors NOT included.

While there is a lot of smarts and creativity in F1 and Europe to be sure, just the numbers of people working in racing in the United States dwarfs those working in professional motorsports in Europe, and that includes F1. Across that spectrum of people there are a great many that are pretty creative and smart about things.
I can tell you that every time I've been invited into an F1 related facilities about half of the questions are to pick my brain about something asking what I think of this or that. In some things they are quite ahead of the curve, but in other things, they are about a year or 2 behind. Especially in engine design and materials.
I didn't see Europe put a man on the moon, or more recently fly a space craft to Mars, land it within 500 meters of their target, and then fly a helicopter around Mars for a year. F1 is a challenge to be sure, it requires the highest of creativity and quality. Don't sell others short.
