The standard in this competition was excellent, but in my view this was *the* outstanding performance of any concerto across the whole of the semi-final and the grand final. Musicality, laser-like precision and a sense of complete effortlessness. The admiring looks from the orchestra tell the story.
excellent interpretation, elegant, graceful, like that of a noble
the easier the cellist can make this piece sound, the better they are. He plays with such ease its amazing
For real

What a wonderful concerto ! Yuya-san is completely enjoying Haydn's music with orchestra members, althogh this is a competition. No strong self-assertion, natural, full of songs and awsom sensitivity. Many Japanese musicians inherit the music of Emmanuel Feuermann, the greatest chellist. Yuya-san is one of them and playing the same amazing cadeza as Feuermann. Also, fabulous violinist HIMARI-san inherit it (Bruch concert would be best). It is intersting to compare videos of those three musicians.
Thank you for the exquisite Penguin's Guide recommendation !
