    To complement their performances at Carnegie Hall, select members of the Berliner Philharmoniker led master classes on November 11, 2022. Participating young artists-including alums of Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA) and NYO2-had the opportunity to perform and work with these world-renowned musicians in a one-on-one setting in Carnegie Hall’s Resnick Education Wing.     Maestro Ludwig is more Italian than German when he thinks about music... even though also the composer is German! I like this! 😊

    What does Maestro holding in the right hand at the frog? I can see a yellow band. 😮

      He has been playing with an elastic band for many years. I don't know the reason for sure.

      I read somewhere it was because of an injury. Now he uses bands to hold the bow.

      That is two pieces of foam, ear-plugs to stop possible vibration between the strings. Obviously there was some kind of feedback from this very beautiful and powerful cello. It is an amazing instrument played by a brilliant cellist.
      It is a completely new idea to me.
