I think this is why most British comedy doesn't seem to work anymore... Life can be brutal and cruel and needs incredible writing to look at it whilst not loosing humanity. The Likely Lads, Steptoe and Son, Blackadder and Red Dwarf. I get that they are all male dominated situation comedies and are not diverse enough but at the hart of them was comedy with incredible actors, writing and timing. But they were not afraid to be funny and have punch lines or comedic conclusions. This is still genius and very difficult to top.

I could never get used to "Uncle Albert", I'm not knocking his acting ability but Lennard Pearce was irreplaceably, its the same as 007, you cannot replace an original, Lennard Pearce was so believable as I knew many character's in my own youth like him, but "Buster's character was overdone and over acted, just my opinion.
I think uncle Albert was as good as grandad or better, just an opinion
