Justin's knowledge of MVC2 is PhD level. Guy legit knows exactly how every scenario unfolds. In his prime he was the monster of all monsters in this game. He had the highest skill level and by the far the highest IQ. All the self deprecating stuff he says about his "lame" style of gameplay really minimizes who he is sometimes. To be as lame as Justin you need to have a profound understanding of this game.

I played a young jwong at Willowbrook mall in NJ way back in the day. Even when he was 13 people would stack quarters and wait in line just to play him. Was famous from the start

Its crazy how this game is 20+ years old. I dont know whether to be depressed or nostalgic. Remember going to China Town Fair to play this and CVS2 and get 1$ vegetable lo mein from the food cart after. Great time to be alive.
A little of both . I used to battle people in arcades and now they are all gone in my area . I lost my best friend who introduced me to the game . We just remember the memories

South America has been kicking ass in mid tiers...
If there’s one region that will for sure up the meta in any game, it’s usually South America
seeing people doing well with spider man feels cool, he was my favorite character in this game when i was a little kid before i knew what kinds of crazy things you could do in this game
Its so crazy to see the different characters and the meta changing like this. So glad to see new life in this game that wasn't the same top characters over and over again.
It kind of feels pointless to get into otherwise imo. Why should I play if the top tier characters are the only viable way to win?
it seems like spiderman spider sting assist works like psylocke when it hits grounded/close to grounded opponents. they are in full stun freefall for follow ups. when they are in the air and higher they seem to recover like from cyclops gene splice or jin dynamite

Khaos already beat him years ago. Justin hasn't been in the lab and has a family so I doubt we'll ever see a full potential match for Justin vs khaos.
@@tonywong8134yeah but maybe Wong wants to see how mvc2 has changed. Even the east coast old school players admit it has changed a lot. Sanford has supposedly started playing again and I think is looking to represent east coast again since khaos, thrillah, and the west have taken over

I love how you can't hear the characters well over the commentary and music but I can still hear Storm screaming
The new meta I learned on the west coast is tagging out, keeping all three characters, and preserving meter. This is based on Roundhouse style 😂lol
So I watched when strider gets the ragnarock super to hit, it appears that dooms last rock hit was blocked on the other side pushing him towards the ground which ragnarnock under cut him on the other side but chaos was already holding block the other way so he got hit.
🤣 the awkward fist dapping after coming back with doom was funny af 😂

10:08 as a Spider-Man player who always has to battle superior teams, this made me proud.
It's pretty insane how all these 20+ year old games which thought to have their tier lists in full lockdown have (albeit slightly) shifted. If you told someone back in 2008 that Spider-Man was tournament viable they'd laugh at you. Not only does is his assist good, but he wasn't too shabby on the ground either.

It's funny. At Dennis' Place For Games in Chicago by the Belmont Red Line (WAAYYY back in the day), I fell victim to the Strider/Doom lockdown MANY times. I didn't realize that it had fallen so far out of favor until this video, where I see it has come back. Sort of like bell bottoms.

Crazy that you say while when you play very old games cpu puts you in the corner and you don´t do anything and just waiting to win by time over hahahah,anyone is good in a certain game,wish to learn Tag Tournament 2,combos are really crazy,1 character ok decent but tag team combos jeeesus,even Maximilian said that when you try to do a certain combo sometimes you have to step to side to make it happen otherwise it wont work,in marvel i cannot believe those combos,back in the 90´s i only do normal combos almost no assists haha,seeing these crazy combos today from you and others jeeeesus,it´s amazing.

I remember when MvC2 came out on ps2. Someone actually laughed at me for picking Doom on my team. I can't even remember who else I picked. I layed out his whole team with Doom. Don't know if I can say I'd be on Evo level. I was really good at fighters back in the day though.
