Should I continue to carry hollow point ammunition in my Glock 19 9mm for self protection??? Because if I was to use target practice rounds such as FMJ rounds doesn't that put my life more at risk because it's not as effective and can pass through a target easier and hit someone else possibly or ricochet in the event of someone trying to take my life but with the way the law is and the way prosecutors are what is actually best? In my mind hollow points are a better protection ammunition!

@@raptorman48 not only is practice ammo bad for hitting real world targets because it won’t stop a threat easily, it’s also cheaply made compared to self def ammo. Read up on it. Good self def ammo is nickel plated, has an epoxy seal around the primer, stands up to whether and time better, etc. It’s just better overall. That’s why it’s so expensive.

OMG, getting my CCW was a living hell, even with a perfect record. The process took 40 hours of training, tests, break down and reassemble, field testing, and then the best was the 4 bureau background checks, ink and digital prints. A 6-month process in total for me. Utah 1993. (I don't regret any of it).
The knowledge, awareness, understanding of why, where, what, and most importantly the legal aspect of respect and responsibility.
There is so much more than just your target when you choose to pull. There is an entire picture of things that can get hit by just a stray bullet, ricochet, or even a through and through that is within this picture.
Thank you for the post as it hopefully shows people how important the responsibilities are to carry.

THANK YOU, Kevin! YOU are the very first person in the firearms community, that has spoken about the incredibly seldom mentioned issue of GOING TO THE BATHROOM while carrying! I'm a USCCA member, and love these videos. I carry a PDP compact, IWB, in a blackhawk leather belt loop holster. Always one in the chamber. I also wear suspenders, because of my age and size. It is a challenge to do a good old number two in a public restroom. Top shirt off... suspenders down, belt undone, and WHILE HOLDING the holster with the gun in it, I carefully put the gun in the center of my pants to hold it. I make sure I point the muzzle in a direction that will not flag me, or any other bathroom users. It's tough, as people CAN see your pants near your ankles- necessitating that you are mindful not to lower them with a holstered gun in even that limited a view.
Carrying, is not just a responsibility, it's an education.

When I got my CC, the Ruger LCP had just come out. It was so popular I had to order one from a gun shop in the next town. Until it arrived, I carried a High Standard 9-shot .22 revolver in an IWB holster. When I picked up my LCP, I immediately made a very minimal in-the-pocket leather holster, to cover the trigger and muzzle, and prevent printing. I have since carried it in my hip pocket. Slower to access, but it's ALWAYS there, never noticed, doesn't fall out in the bathroom, and can be reached for as if surrendering a wallet. It limits my wardrobe, as fancy trousers don't have big enough pockets, but that's not my style, anyway. The .380acp may not be a drop-em-dead-instantly round, but is sufficient to alter the intentions of a felon.

Man, I've only got three holsters. I use the second one I bought as my daily. Leather galvo, IWB, no mechanical retention. Just cinch down my gunbelt.
For going to the bathroom.. When I don't have to take my pants down, I'm not really worried about it. When I do, I look for single person bathrooms. If I can't get one, then I usually use the handicap stall if possible because it's harder to see the weapon. When I drop my pants, I pull them sideways to put my weapon (still holstered and attached to my pants and belt) between my feet with my pants on top, holster underneath to hide the weapon and holster.
If I see a hand reaching under the stall I'm just going to step on it until it stops moving.
I used to take my holster off and put it in my pants, then drop my underwear over the holster and weapon. Sometimes I'll try to drop my underwear over the holstered weapon still on my belt. For the most part.. I just try to crap at home 😂

It’s interesting with any skill repetition helps you get it right while at the same time helping you to recognize/correct when you are doing it wrong faster. Ashley when you have that muscle memory it frees up the brain to focus on other stuff such as “ is firing the correct decision”, but I feel like some folks outside the community see this skill building as a crazy person that is looking for a fight.

My friend and I use an app to help us draw. We set down our phone and press start. It then waits anywhere between 0.5s to 10s and gives a random beep. Then, it listens for a shot. Thanks to that app, I have been able to get my draw to 1.7s consistently. It's not terribly fast, but it helps me understand that I need to practice moving while drawing to avoid incoming attacks and buy myself a bit more time.

You’re right, a lot of first time gun carriers don’t understand or know when you can or can not use a gun in self defense. I just had a friends son shot a guy that had been harassing him and his girlfriend. They had restraining orders on this guy but one day he rammed their car and jumped out charging toward them and wanting to fight my friends son over this girl he is now dating. The guy didn’t have a weapon but my friends son ended up shooting him out of all the frustration of dealing with this guy who has shot his car up at his residence, stalking his girlfriend and is here illegally. He was arrested for shooting him and has yet to be charged and face the penalties of his actions. He didn’t realize that they guy had to have a weapon, threatening his or her life before he could use his gun in self defense. I feel bad for the guy because they were trying to use the law to jail this guy or get him deported and receive no relief from his terror. The guy chased them and used his truck to slam into their car and bring them to a stop. I’m not sure but I think a lot of people would have shot him if they were in this situation. Allow he had no weapon when he approached them so it was unlawful to shoot him. The bad thing about it is that he is still harassing them after being shot and the restraining orders have come to term and the courts are saying if they can’t find him and serve him they can’t issue a restraining order. Missouri smh.

There are 20 bullets in that cup. I do not have a firearm, although I've got my wife and I USCCA membership because we do support the 2nd Amendment. Not that I haven't owned them in the past or that we're not looking at firearms, just do not own/posses them at the moment. I strongly agree about the training (personal and legal) and practice for as many different positions and scenarios as possible (practice, practice, practice - until it becomes muscle memory). I retired from the military (spent time in the SOF community) and have trained over 15k individuals (various different countries) in various different tactical situations - it was always... practice, practice, practice.
When I do decide to purchase firearms - especially for her - it will be after we go through some of the different training videos and get honed up on the laws within the state/county/city. It might not be the manner to which others would do, but it's important that there is the understanding of laws before the hand touches the grip or stock to shoulder.
What I do not particularly care for is the outline of classes under the USCCA since you have to have "range time" before you can progress to the different levels of "training". I prefer to manage how progression is versus that of someone else.

The burden of responsibility and blame is now on the one defending righteousness life and goodness not on the criminal. Truly if there was even a smidgen of justice in this country the blood of the people committing the crime would be on there own shoulders not the on those seeking to preserve life and liberty. Defense of the innocent would be rewarded not punished EVEN taking into consideration human error.

Also shame on the lawyers for choosing to defend the wicked for money...shame on judges for drawing paychecks to incarcerate the defenders of life...shame on the policemen and women for administering the unjust laws for a paycheck.

I can say a few things first I appreciate you putting these videos out here for us that are a little less educated of these things, thank you very much. It's my second video I watched I usually watch self defense guy I think is what I searched or his videos are called, where he always plays real world videos. So I use to have a sig Sauer 40cal I had a holster it held an extra clip an I had an incident occur an it was taken from me an I couldn't even get it back from the courts. Now I just got a new creed 9mm. So with my 40cal an a Ruger acp 45cal, i was very very accurate with my 40 and my 45 I was also pretty good with hitting the target as far out as I could put the target at the shooting range. usually it was just too close at 10ft 15ft 20ft 25ft I would hit it with ease. I would hit my same holes almost at 15ft 20ft 25ft do to test myself an try to make it a bit harder I would put as far out as possible. Anyways I don't have a holster for this creed 9mm an suggestion for it to hold in side my pants or one that's an all around holster to buy. Now I just stick it in my pants when it's dark I'm in a bad area an don't like my surroundings, suspicious or shady looking people, if some walks to my window, I see someone come towards my car, I would grab it an hold on my lap, under my shirt in case I needed to use it at a gas station is a good place where random people walk up asking for money or cars come in and out regularly i keep it locked an loaded in that situation. I took the cc class and in this class they taught us what a deadly threat is an to distinguish what could be considered as one an to announce yourself as I'm armed an I will use it or I will shoot you if you don't step back or come towards me if they have a knife I see this being possible but if someone has a gun it would seem pretty dumb to say hey I got a gun if you don't get away I'll shoot now they are able to look an see you an if they are ready to shoot anyone for any reason now I am armed I didn't think that was a great way to defend yourself with a firearm. Any help or advice on that kind of situation??? Then my next question or a major concern in life is I people who have deadly hands, say someone trained in fighting as ufc or something in those lines, I was under the impression their hands are registered as deadly weapons? my question was for say I was getting beat senseless by someone that i was going in an out of consciousness, an i felt if i keep getting hit im going to die. I then asked is that a situation to use deadly force if I can get that chance to grab it an use it to save yourself? I was told no that it's not. I couldn't believe my ears!!!! maybe it's changed now since 2006 or 07 about. I was questioning that I asked if it's a trained fighter an your getting beat an you shoot them if I could get it out an shoot them off the top of me, or gain consciousness an grab it an they still keep coming back to beat you.I really didn't like the answer he gave I was torn by getting my permit. Also he said when you do get your cc permit. The courts will hold you on a level of now your a cc holder you should know better, all of the laws an now you will be held to a higher standard. He had this big book you can buy an learn all these laws but basically it's up to you to learn the laws when to use, when not to use your deadly weapon. I didn't get it cause I felt now I'm going to be looked at as if I'm trained as a cop or military. Like i would know how to distinguish from a deadly threat to a non deadly threat just cause I have a permit now. I have seen people get beat senseless an heard of stories of people dying from someone hitting them with a punch (hand)(fist) in a spot in their head with one punch an they died! So if anyone knows now if that's considered as a deadly threat. I have seen videos where cops can use their pistols in that situation as even less then that. I seen a cop draw on someone just walking towards them an shoot. I'm not sure how that works now an if it matters if you feel your going to be beat to death an in that situation would you even be thinking clear enough to know not to save yourself with your firearm. Sorry for the rambling once I start typing I get carried away. Any advice in this situation or something like this seneraio? 32rounds in cup maybe 30 lol grr it's so hard to guess are they all big an small rounds in bottom of the cup too!!! So I'm in Florida down south near Miami. Laws do change an I know I should be able to make sure I know them. Any advice would be very appreciated!!! After watching this I hope I never end up in this scenario but the better prepared you are the greater chance to walk away from these kind of situation.

I got my CCL for Florida decades ago.. At the same time a also carried a lawyer on me as well. The laws often end up being more dangerous than the criminals you are trying to defend yourself against. Anytime you have a pistol on your right hip then you need to have lawyer on the left hip.
