God, that last shot of Aerith praying as black feathers fall around her is reopening old wounds.
They wouldn't tease her death if it happens 4 really. This is a certainty she will survive but someone gotta die to advance the plot..
@@oliverhopkins8074Idk about that, either the director or someone from the writing team(not sure) already confirmed that the remake trilogy will lead over to Advent Children, which means either she dies there or her death is delayed

@@deepflare1028 Problem is - Advent Children actually follows the original game, so already the bit with Zack potentially mucks up the timeline, let alone the fact what I've seen of Sephiroth who appears to have time travelled (don't have access to anything that plays the game so cutscenes only), unless it's going to do some wonky thing in which the Aerith and Zack you see at the end of AC are the ones from the alternate timeline where they don't die interfering in the original timeline where they do. Unless the theories about game 3 are right - that because of where this game is confirmed to end, that game 3 will actually carry over in to where Advent Children would be to make it a more full story, at which point they likely twist the timeline further to make sense with the current changes and perhaps alter things to an ending where humanity doesn't die out but thrives and goes on.
@@anthony7697 The thing is the Zack parts of this game take place on an alternative universe, other than that I agree. Imo they should as you mentioned, remake AC to accommodate the retcons, either as DLC or a remake of the movie itself.

One is “princess Rosa” for stage play that various character will wear depends on who you choose to date, like Aerith at 1:44 and Jessie at 1:34 (which I guess it’s on VR when you choose to date Barret and maybe Yuffie)
Another was white dress with yellow flower that Aerith wore during “no promises to keep” I guess it should be in her exclusive scene because lyric made most sense when she’s singer.
The thing I'm looking forward to the most is the Dyne plot line. It seems like they are diving deeper into his character this time around, and barret was already so good in Remake.

I really hope they handle that well. It hit hard in the original just as much as Aerith for me. I never got over the fact that he didn't want Marlene to see how broken he was and chose to end any chance of them ever seeing each other again.
FOR REAL. This story hit so hard and was very emotional thru and thru. Was a great arc and character growth
Barret is my favourite FF character (tied with Vivi from 9) and I am so ridiculously happy but also pre-emptively in pain and suffering at the possibility of the Dyne subplot being expanded.

I actually teared up during this, I remember when I was about 19 and playing through the impaling of her by Sephiroth throwing the PS1 controller at the screen, didn't think seeing her praying and hearing her singing this new song would make me feel like I did back then. Can't wait for the PC release of this game so I can get it.

@@moonmoon2479 Lmao. Cloud does not have any of Zack's memories for Aerith, otherwise he would've recognized her when they first met. He also acts pretty annoyed towards her initially and slowly warms up to her, unlike Zack who likes her like right away. Cloud's feelings for Aerith are his own, looks like someone didn't play the game.
@@lakedentist4819 You know... emotional memory is not the same type of memory as what you're referring to. We all know during Cloud's confusion he wasn't sure who he was, whether his memories were his, and did not even remember Zack for quite a while. Having some feelings toward Aerith without explanation could cause him to withdraw and not want to get close, which falls in line with every part of the story quite well.
Since they were connected through the experiments, it's very possible that he wasn't only mocking Zack's personality from his own memorby, but he actually could have absorbed some of Zack's self on a molecular level as they all did of Jenova.
It hasn't been clarified as such, but it's as feasible a theory as any and certainly explains a lot of the reason Cloud eventually snaps and becomes a drone for Sephiroth for a while.
I've been an avid fan of this particular story since the PS1 game was brand new, and I've got no reason to think that this idea is totally out of the question.
Are you sure Moon Moon didn't play the game, or are you just enjoying the story purely for what's most obvious?

He inserted himself into some memories he had of zack in the nibelheim flashback and made himself follow an idealized soldier persona as a coping mechanism after his mind was close to shattering. Nowhere could any of this influence his feelings. He doesn't even remember aerith when they meet.

Also the singing gave me FF8, FFX-2 and FF6 Terra in the Opera house vibes. Actually this whole Loveless reenactment (love that Red and Barrett are playing the villains) feels very classic old school Final Fantasy.

Guys. Everyone who died in the FF7 is alive in the remake, including Wedge, Biggs, and Jesse. There is no impact or trauma, this is a redo where every ending is happy. Chill. Wedge talks in the trailer and Jesse is visible for a shot. If they can't even kill off the side characters, what makes you think they're gonna kill a main?

1:18 "No real spoilers"? We see Cloud, Zack and Marlene in a scene together. That's a pretty darn big spoiler, if you ask me. Especially since Zack is supposed to be dead, and the party never sees Marlene again after they leave Midgar.

@@g-rocklegacy6516 Not really, we already saw him waking up in the bed in Sector Five at the end of Remake. And Biggs is such a minor character at the scheme of things it isn't likely to change the plot all that much.
@@jamesgravil9162that scene could fit in the time between the escape from Nibel and Zack's death (that's probably why Cloud is in comma). Marlene didn't always live in Midgar, if I'm not remembering wrong, Tifa and Barret arrived to Midgar 1-2 years before the events of FF7. The only thing that I don't know if fits it's Marlene's age (to be talking like that)

This game is literally the only reason I’m going to buy a ps5. In the original, Midgar just feels like a prologue to the actual game. I can’t wait to see how this one compares to that feeling when the world opens up and the game becomes that cozy warm blanket with a side of horror.

Couldn’t hold out and started crying when Marlene told Zack to keep it a secret that Aerith will be killed at Sephiroth’s hands. It brought me back to when Aerith rescued her from Seventh Heaven and Marlene had an “Awakening”/“Vision” and Aerith pressed her finger to her lips to tell her to keep it a secret. It’s all Aerith’s memories and knowing that if she “wakes up” to let everything play out that is supposed to happen then her life will end.
Worlds reuniting, with everyone expecting Zack to crossover and save her.
Except Doomguy promised to save her. Doomguy will crossover.
Spoiler: in part 3, there is no antagonist because he was glory killed. THE STREETS WILL FLOW WITH THE BLOOD OF THE NONBELIEVERS.

I really thought the same thing... I almost thought it was Faye Wong herself. Beautiful song. Can we list all the times a song was actually sang by the main cast? FFVI Celes (Text), FFX-2 Yuna/Lenne (Voiced Lyrics), And now this FFVIIRebirth with Aerith also Voiced Lyrics. Am I missing any other Main Cast singers? -I cant actually count Eyes on Me by Julia Heartilly as it wasn't sung by a main cast, but that can be honorable mentions I suppose.
Celes song is voiced in the remaster, Yuna sings her own song at the end, Rinoa could be the singer at the end since it's her mother's song.

@@cherrydragon3120 that's true if Final Fantasy VIII was about love, Final Fantasy IX was about purpose, Final Fantasy VII is about LIFE. As much as I would love to see our favourite characters survive and live happily ever after... I know it can't work for the story of this game. Remake has already made a lot of changes by having several characters survive like Zack, Biggs, Wedge (albeit we don't know his fate in the Shinra Building) and Jessie. I just hope that for the purpose of FF7 remake, they don't change the most iconic scene. It would cheapen the meaning, themes and philosophy of FF7. As much as I know it's gonna hurt, it has to happen for the sake of this story...
@@JasonGuitarHand It had to happen before we added time alterations and destiny into the mix. FF VII was about life. FF VII remake is about defying destiny. Will FF VII Rebirths theme be final destination & about how you can't/shouldn't defy destiny? These themes are not FF VII OG themes, nor compilation complicated, since time alteration is new and very loud. So the new trilogy's themes will be all over the place, unless they stick to the foundation of the new trilogy = defying fate. That requires major alterations, especially if their version of fate is death/survival, which is seems to be the case with Zack and Biggs. Because of the legacy of Aeriths death, this is the focus point, and it has to be changed to save FF VII remake, and remain the same to save FF VII.
I say this as someone that will feel relief if Aerith dies. Will the developers be praised for red herrings and false hope, or will people get their happy ending? FF VIIs legacy is already broken, so whatever they do, they have to forge a new one.
Just when I thought my hype couldn't get any bigger! I haven't even played this game yet and I can already tell it's going to be one of my favorite games of all time.

Just breathtaking, the cinematic scenes behind this beautiful song is incredible. The details are unbelievable. Look at the scene when Aerith started singing, all Barret, RED XIII and Cait Sith were moving part of their body behind the stage enjoying while Cloud stood till and completely fell into Aerith. It does transfer Cloud's underlying feeling to the audience.
I beg Jessie, a character not many people care prior to REMAKE, is now hitting our hearts and many of us await her destiny in this new chapter.

Nobuo Uematsu is truly a legend. He just knows how to make music fit the themes of Final Fantasy games so well. Can't have Final Fantasy without Nobuo you just can't. This song may possibly be the signature theme of FFVII games from now on. The ending for FF VII is definitely gona be 10x more emotional with this. I'm looking forward to when that day comes.

I'm in my mid-30s now, and I don't think I've looked forward to a game more than this! Leaving Midgar to the End of Disc 1 in the original is my favourite part of any game ever. Can't wait to see it brought into 2024.

You should try the echo S 7 mod for ff7 on pc! That and some visual models make it a whole new experince. Echo s is a reall g9od fan dub of the entire game.
I played FF7 completely blind and thought the whole game would be in Midgar. Blew my mind when I left Midgar. I couldn't believe this game could be even bigger and just kept going and going. Also never played a game where I actually fell in love with the characters. Truly a masterpiece in gaming, art, and story telling.
SPOILER!!! The ending of disc 1 wasn't when you left Midgar. It was when Aeris died. YES I AM CALLING HER AERIS! 😂

I love Tifa. But Cloud and Aerith's relationship is so heart warming. The original game made it so devastating when Sephiroth killed her. But after remake....I can't stand to see her go either. Cloud would be so much more hurt and so would Tifa. I don't want anyone to die. Lmfao. But at the same time you can't change destiny.
