Dude. You are the only one on CZcams that actually shows how a washer works. Thanks you
Thank you for all your trouble showing us how it works I appreciate it very much great ❤video
You're awesome Angel. Thank you Sir for your experience generosity.
Like how you teach real an simple I understand clearly
Thank you for your help. We ordered the replacement part on Amazon and fixed our washer ourselves. You saved us a lot of money.
Great tutorial! Great camera work! Free advice!
Thanks dude!
Great video, thank you Angel
Man this is so much help. Mine would only stay in one position or the other.
Tks alot u just save me from buying a new washer easy to install and video very helpful A++++😊
Thank you! My Maytag washer keeps clicking (not grinding) during agitation, and the agitator doesn't move very far in either direction. The clicking sound in your video sounds like the click I hear in my own washer. You have helped me understand how this works, and I think I can now solve my problem.
Did this fix work for you? We just replaced the pump and now our wash plate doesn't work but the drum does.
@@blissfuljoy6049 The shift actuator needed to be replaced because it's arm had a broken pin. The actuator motor still worked but it wasn't moving the arm, so the machine would not shift between spin and agitate. Replacing this part, however, did not solve my problem. After I replaced the actuator, splutch, pulley wheel, belt, and even the gearcase (every mechanical part, really) the machine was still clicking a lot, and would screech with the sound of crashing gears at the end of the spin cycle. I ended up buying a new machine. The only silver lining is that the parts I bought, other than the gearcase, are compatible with the new machine. Hope this helps!
@@markbeuligmann7363 thank you! Very helpful. Trying to decide if it's worth it to bother replacing anything else. If the actuator isn't to pricey we may try it but from my research looking into this I am afraid the transmission may be on it's way out. I guess we'll see. What is your new machine if you don't mind me asking? Do you like it?
@@blissfuljoy6049 Our new machine is a Whirlpool WTW4955HW2. So far, we like it. It has a 3.8 cubic foot tub as opposed to the 4.3 cubic foot tub in our old Maytag. I has one thing the older machine did not have, and that is a quick wash cycle. The agitator is the post style, too, although you can get it with a low profile agitator. We only got the model with the post because we were in a hurry and the other style wasn't in stock. Something to know when you shop washing machines. Many brands, including Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana, Roper, and KitchenAid, are actually made by Whirlpool.
@@markbeuligmann7363 Thank you! I ordered an actuator so hopefully that will fix it 🤞.
Awesome video. Thanks for explaining
Very good description
Should the shifter motor have resistance? My old one doesn't and I bought one online "open box" and it doesn't either. Wondering if the part is bad.
Thanks good example
Brilliant!
Hello & your videos are awsome i had a huge off balance in my machine with blankets i have an F7 code can that off balance break the shifter switch to break or get stuck. Thanks
What makes the actuator malfunction? Mine works, but it always needs an extra button push to finish the rinse cycle. Are there limit switch contacts which get dirty?
My whirlpool wtw4616fw I changed the cap,and the motor tires to run but the splutch sounds like it grind, took apart it looks good. The actuator move but slow not like in the video fas on agitator. And then just hums, will a bad sensor on the actuator cause it not to work right? Thank you
Not sure if these questions get answered, but what causes one to stay in Spin cycle during auto test? Maytag centennial. Shifter W10913953.
Is it important to put the machine into calibration mode after installing the "shift actuator" ??????
Very important. Every time you replace a major part or an electronic part recalibration is necessary.
My whirlpool washer center won’t agitate only the drum moves I removed the agitator and the Basket Driven Hub is good do you have any idea 💡 what it could be??
Did you figure out what it was?
How do we unscrew the two green mounting screws that hold the shift actuator to the bottom of the housing? On my machine those screws are stuck. They won't budge.
I got the screws out with valve-grinding compound.
I used an impact drill
I have a Armana washer and it won't go into spin and rinse cycle.. it washes and drains but when it get to rinse and spin.. it only clicks and clicks
Will a bad actuator cause the Cabrio washer to not do the initial water fill, only auto sensing and lid lock blinks nothing else? Thanks
Sounds like a bad lid lock sensor
@@larryslincoln9666 is that in the lid lock switch assembly ? How do I test with multimeter? Can I straight wire the lid switch temporarily to test it? If so explain please. Thanks
so what if its not Washing ? would that be it too >
would you an actuator cause a ticking noise during wash cycle? or could that be a transmission issue?
