- Welcome to the Dordogne, a charming department in southwest France dotted with many beautiful towns and villages such as Sarlat-la-Canéda, Domme, or Périgueux, featured in this video.
The lovely town of Périgueux, capital of the Dordogne, is an open-air museum. As you stroll through its beautiful streets, you will travel through time from the Roman Empire to the Renaissance without forgetting the Middle Ages.

This couldn’t have been more lovely other than actually spending it with Joanna! 😊
And guess what, we’ve had a great time and lunch there as well. Périgueux is such a pretty and lively French city. Cyril ( photographer)
Thank you for that .
We went today and it was stunning.
You're most welcome :)
That was amazing! It was almost like being there in person. Whoever came up with the idea of showing the sites in a particular region deserves a raise!
😂ok I’ll tell my boss, Joanna, as it was my idea ( Cyril - photographer). We will film more villages and cities like that in the future. It just takes quite a lot of time to do so, but we loved to share this with you as we think it’s important to also show our lifestyle here in France. Thanks for your feedback.
She's a very good presenter. Maybe I'll visit. Amazing compact film. Well done. ❤
Thank you for such a lovely tour i enjoyed it very much.
Thank you for your kind comment 😊
I really enjoyed the tour 😊
You're most welcome :)
What an excellent review. It really gave a great taste of the city. Merci!
Thank you so much for your kind comment 😊
I love PX. Went to college there 18 years ago. I took a 1.5h detour on my way back to England last summer, just to drive through Perigeuex as it had been a while 😂.
If that's not love, we don't know what it is 😄
Thank you for the wonderful and personal tour of Peregiux(sp). In the USA state of Arkansas, in the N.E. corner, is a city called Paragould. It was named for the Gould, millionaire bankers that owned railroad, that brought new settlers and took lumber, foodstuffs out to the world. Your tour was so interesting, especially, about the reminders of the Imperialists ROMANS. They brought the world to Gaul, now France. It seems at every step you took, the Roman architecture, is touchable. Even the streets are Roman foundations. Your explanations are heart warming and your voice rings with excitement. Thanks again....e
Thank you so much for your nice comment 😊
Really excellent Joanna - learned a lot and truly comprehensive! ❤
Thank you so much for your kind comment 😊
un très intéressant commentaire sur cette très belle ville que je ne connais pas . Merci
Ça vaut la peine d’y passer quelques jours. Les villages autour sont également superbes.
Thank you for showing this. What a beautiful historic, lovely city… ❤
I can only agree, I live nearby and enjoy going in the city and just enjoy the atmosphere as often as possible ( cyril - photographer). We have a nice Leggett agency in Périgueux as well, right in front of the town hall.
What a beautiful city with such interesting history. Really enjoyed. Thank you Joanna & the cameraman for this well presented video.
Thanks, it is really great fun to tour cities we love ( and sometimes live in) and show you why we love them so much. Many more similar videos are about to be released, for instance Joanna and I ( Cyril videographer) toured Bordeaux on 2 days, one in November and one more recently in December, so you’ll see what is also great about this major French city. Next year, we’ll tour many more gems, sometimes really unknown ones. So stay tuned !
Loved, loved your tour. Everything explained so well. I live in France please do more like this around France.
100% agreed. We will ! This was just an improvised test with Joanna leggett and me ( cyril - photographer) following a conversation where we were saying how beautiful Périgueux is, and I just said « hey! Let’s go tomorrow there, there’s a market, let’s film the city together ». Soon more to come.
Hi, I would love to see you do a tour showing us La rochelle.
👍 good idea ! We love La Rochelle and the nearby Ile de Ré where we have lovely properties for sale. I’ll speak with Jo about going there, it’s just 2h30 deive from our head office. Stay tuned. The coming episodes are about Saumur, Angers, and we’re just back from Cannes and Menton…
Muito boa sua apresentação !
Thank you 😊
Nice! I've watched some of your property videos from this region, even if i could not afford any of them 😉
It's great to see that your representatives are integrated in the region, that they know what they are talking/writing about.
Thank you 😊
Really enjoyed this , Jo: very informative!
Thank you, we're glad you liked the video 😊
Loved this video. Now I am curious about visiting the area.
Thank you 😊 If you do get the chance to come, you will find some of the prettiest places and villages in France 😄
Wonderful to see looks lovely. Very charming.
I’m very curious about Normandy. 🤓
Thank you very much, we'll definitely keep Normandy on our list 😄
walked through the Christmas market last christmas when i was over
Such a pretty market, isn't it? 😊
C'est vieux !
Périgueux est effectivement une vieille ville, avec des constructions remontant aussi loin que l'époque gallo-romaine, ce qui lui donne tout son charme aujourd'hui 😊
I've heard it pronounced "Perry-Go" and now I've heard it pronounced "Perry-Goo". It's "Pay-ree-Guh"
Accents and pronunciation, the drama of my life. Thanks for the correction.
