      While i sort of agree, if we knew Tony Abbott was a Fuckwit (and we did) why did we let him win. If we could have a do over on that one I would like to think Rudd would win. While i know it's not saying much Rudd was far better then the last 3 we have had, at the very least miles better then Abbott.

    Imagine a world where Donald could make fun of himself. He cold opens with getting everyone in the audience to yell at the same time "Trump's a racist" so everyone could've won 5k. For his White House sketch he directs some handymen to install his gold toilet to the foyer. Someone comes in and says "Mr. President your new gold gloves have arrived" and shows little gold children's mittens. He says "Fantastic, put them with my collection of things for small-handed people and tanning creams". He then turns to his Secretary of Defense and Secretary of State, Dr. Will and Mike Boogie and says "Chilltown for life guys". More shenanigans ensue until then it ends with him going to the camera and says some inspiring things like "I hope you could see the absurdity of all this, this is how the liberal media portrays what my presidency would look like. I can guarantee you that I will have trusted officials help me truly make America great again, as I am running for president not for some reality show, but for the people of this country that I love so much. You are safe in my perfectly averaged sized hands"
    Just sayin, some humor like that may have solicited a vote from someone like me.
    (p.s. I would've cut that whole live tweeting sketch too, that was just awful)

    • @bijibadness
      @bijibadness Před 7 lety +2

      unfortunately he didn't NEED a vote from someone like you. unfortunately.

  • @TreantmonksTemple

    This video actually edits out the jokes.
    The part regarding Rosie O'Donnell makes fun of Trump being a sexist moron by bringing out Amy Bryant and Trump can't tell the difference between her and O'Donnell.
    The sketch with "no jokes" that they talk about is making fun of his ridiculous promises. They don't tone anything down, talking about how the Mexican's have written him a thank you note for the wall, they love it!
    The nasty tweets in the restaurant sketch is in fact making fun of his racism. I dunno, I thought that Trump would compare "Kenan" to "Kenyan" was pretty funny.
    Not shown in the vid above, but Michael Che makes some good digs at Trump in Weekend Update, including his response to Trump's slogan "Make America great again." “When white folks start bringing up the good old days, my negro senses start tingling,”
    I'm a Canadian, and you guys, if you elect Trump, we're building a wall and making you pay for it, but I did think the episode was funny.

      +GamezFodayz So people shouldn't hold the future leaders of our country accountable? I would say that the criticism is not only justified, but needed in order to keep the country from having blinders on (which the majority of the populous do with respect ESPECIALLY to politics). If ridiculous actions are taken with the intent of self promotion that will result in LEADING THE COUNTRY, we the people should point that out REDUNDENTLY. I do wish that they would look beyond Trump though... He's an easy target (although he is leading the polls... sooooooo yeah).

      noah schaefferkoetter There are literally hundreds of thousands of youtube channels that you can patronize for your political fix. My point is that I expect less alienating content from them, not everybody that enjoys Cracked hates conservatives.

      If they were criticizing conservatives I would agree with you, but they aren't, they are criticizing the (frankly ridiculous) actions of Trump. If conservatives think that a politician going on a comedy show with the intent to NOT be funny is appropriate I would be surprised... but the point was, Trump apparently thinks this is OK. I feel that actions like these (ignorant actions performed to gain approval) should draw negative attention... regardless of the political affiliation.

    The scary thing about the SNL episode, as someone living the UK who is a big fan of US comedy, was that you could feel the tension and the presence of potentially terrifying power in the room. The whole show was geared towards Trump, it was treading on eggshells, it was like watching a North Korean satire show with the Glorious Leader, with satirists dancing gingerly around him like medieval jesters, praying that he doesn't win and take them off the air. Why should Americans spend their evenings watching a show contrived to humour a presidential candidate? Don't people watch comedy for entertainment and for escapism?
    Politics and comedy should never mix, because just standing next to Trump- or Clinton, Bush, Obama, whomever- completely undermines the credibility and impact of any satire you attempt, because you've given them a platform.

      +Spooky Sam Actual satire? From SNL? HHAHAAH. SNL hasn't seen "funny haha satire" since Andy Samberg and Bridesmaids, and even then some people say SNL wasn't relevant anymore when Ferell and the 90's cast left. Did you even watch the episode? It was one of the most cringy things I have ever seen, and I did not laugh once during the entire hour and a half. Then again, I haven't laughed at SNL in well over 3 years now.

    • @garcalej
      @garcalej Před 7 lety +3

      Trump has a long and sordid history of shady and unethical business practices. He and his father started out as owners of slum tenements in the 70s (right after Trump dodged the draft to avoid service). He broke into the real estate business largely with his daddy's money, which he quickly blew on speculative schemes, (including a failed airline and the infamous hotel casino in Atlantic city). By the 90s he was completely broke, having declared bankruptcy at least four different times and stiffing many of his business partners and lenders who lent him vast sums based on falsified financial statements. Anytime they tried to call him out on it, he would bristle up like a porcupine and threaten to sue them (in this country, its very expensive to defend or bring a legal action, and Trump's legal counsel are known for their ruthlessness). They would almost always back-off, those who didn't Trump settled with quietly, Zuckerberg style.
      Perhaps the only business venture of his that was successful was his dumb reality show. Everything else was a flop. Then there is the well known Trump U lawsuit (or perhaps not so well known, since the media rarely ever comments on it). A glorified diploma mill where students shelled out thousands to receive instruction from "hand-picked experts", although it later turned out none of them were "hand-picked" by Trump or had even met him. They certainly weren't "experts" for that matter; some had just got out of jail. A clear case for fraud if ever I saw one.
      And for a person who preaches "made in America", he doesn't seem to practice much of what he preaches: a lot of his branded ties, T-shirt, furniture, etc. made in China, Mexico, and other parts overseas. He won't release his tax returns, media sleuths discovered that the representative from Muslims for Trump who spoke at his convention appears to be the only member of this suspiciously new organization. The ghost writer who wrote his famous book, "The Art of the Deal" described him as a "psychopath."
      Everything about this guy's past is dirty. Go to the Washington Post or the New York Times and you'll find articles about a new or past scandal just about every week. Or just do a search on the Internet about what I've said. I haven't even covered half of it.
