at 1:36 is just a shot of the electrical conduit running threw the shaft. The clicking you hear are the roller cams as the car passes each floor to tell the controller when the cab is in the door zone.

They have since completely replaced this elevator. However the new stacks elevator has not been touched yet.

Very nice retro elevator. I guess it wouldn't go back up when you tried to send it at the end because the door lock was tripped.
