Thank you for posting. I got an intro to ultralights from Tom in September 2019 and bought my Aerolite kit through him. The custom fuel tank looks sharp.
Great video nice aircraft ! One thing I need to say is SCAN for traffic, most time your eyes are looking forward never losing forward site. Think about this if another aircraft PIC is doing same as you, that would be bad outcome. Again nice video, be safe !
Yes, a very distinctive color scheme and love the seat/fuel tank combo. Difficult to watch due to the camera angle and position. Where did you find that fuel tank?
What year is your ultralight. I have aerolite 103 but I have that same tank .Is your throttle like a motorcycles. Mine is all black and with purple accents on my tail and wings.lioks good .what engine do you use.
What year is that ? lol I have one with same exact seat gas tank purple also plane is all black with purple accent on wings and tail and nose cone purple. I want to name it 'THE NIGHT FLYER" AFTER THE MOVIE awesome! Mines a 2006 with new 440 kawasaki engine ITS A POWERHOUSE very quick throttle response. Getting ready to break it in . my way lol Nice plane love it . getting a Mosquito AIR next after things get better. well happy flying.
Nice video. I have never flown ultralights, think I may build one. In a C172 we don’t use flaps on take off except in grass short field or floats. I am curious, I noticed you used flaps on take off on a paved runway, is that necessary in ultralights?
@@BillSmith-rx9rm I was used to 10* flaps for take at on grass strips at Magnetawan Airstrip Ontario and on floats then flew from Brampton Ontario for a check ride on a paved runway. I selected 10* flaps for take off and was questioned why I would do such a thing by the check ride pilot. I know some pilots use flaps on take off but it really isn’t necessary on a long paved runway in a C172.
@@BillSmith-rx9rm yes I do. In downwind leg I reduce power to about 1600 rpm before turning base, below 100kt select 10* flaps and turn on base. Slow airspeed to 65kts then select 20* flaps at 500 ft agl turn final and approach about 55-60. Love your plane and video, great talking to you.
Hey Steven! Great video and love the Purple Rain color. I'm up in Loudoun and looking to take the plunge into Ultralights. Did you have prior flight experience? Did you undergo any specific training to fly your ultralight? Thx, from a new subscriber!
Oh man, I love the color you picked! I'm retiring and moving to Virginia in a couple months, and an aero light 103 is my first purchase!
FINALLY!! Someone that lands the correct way in an ultralight!! Power off, nose down and flair!!

That was so cool to watch. 👍👍👍😉🤗😘
Thank you 🤗
Very nice....i spent many days at Warrenton airpark....its definitely a beautiful location....if jackie is still there say hello for me..
They need to raise the weight limitation for ultra-lights they would be safer and far more realistic
Very Nice
I just purchased one of these, awesome plane, just haven't flown it yet due to surgery. Maybe before winter!
Love your videos, so relaxing. Keep them coming. Great looking bird!
Sick color bruh

What a great little airplane, must be fun! But it's a windy place up there ;)
No worse than anywhere else.
@@stevenwithee7906 I mean in the cockpit, it is a windy place! ;)

How well does the Aerolite 103 handle a stall ?
Very nicely.
Can you tell me what type of gas tank that is? Thank you
A seat tank from the original style

On a decent runway, flaps aren't necessary on a c-172, but generally speaking, isn't 10° of flap the recommendation for takeoff configuration?

Sometimes it's purple, sometimes it's pink, sometimes it's blue, sometimes it's pink...
Lol. Purple

Yes
So this guy has electric flaps?, looks like you backed off the throttle after deployment, is it a big difference in stall speed?.
Yes
Do you need to communicate with the tower?
If it's a tower controlled airport you do, otherwise no, just like any other airplane.
Not at the class D.
Which engine do you have? Beautiful landing by the way.
Rotax 503
