  • Created and designed by a local socal angler, he started from already made parts by Penn and gave it the upgrades such as aluminum frame and spool vs factory bakelite. Today, they're their own beast and the reels are made in Taiwan.

    Brother, your channel is so underrated. Thank you for what you are doing. You should do rod reviews as well. I would definitely consume.

      Bro, thank you so much for that. Greatly appreciated 🙏🤙. I do have a good handful of rods, but it’s funny. Everytime I get the go pro when I’m out on the rails, I skunk. When there is no gopro, it’s limits 😅. Want to use those bendo action to show. But will def put some reviews out in future. Thanks 🙌🙌

    Good looking reel bud. I appreciate you doing this. Looks like a fully built custom narrow spool 4/0 senator. Also i have 2 of bryon youngs 7 stack kits for the 9/0. I have seen 44lbs of drag on a full spool with that kit just hand tightened.

      Thank you! Those custom hot rodded 4/0 are still amazing to see. That 9/0 you have must be a beast of a reel especially with that amount of drag. It’s amazing how much these things push out for the price.

      @@Seastheday88 I agree. I have a pair of 4/0 standard width reels im planning to hot rod. My 9/0s are still a work in progress, they have upgraded drag and gears, i have been on a list with cortez for 2 frames for over a year for the 9/0s. Billet frames are hard to get for the 9/0s. I will keep the stock side plates on all my reels as well as the original handles, i just like a look of the stock senators. I really like your channel and subscribed and have already went back and watched most of your videos. Great stuff bud!

      @@meatseeker thank you on the sub🙌 much appreciated! The 4/0 113h I had was with the xtra narrow billet frame. Felt like a tank. And agreed, keeping the original side plates and handles has the best look. I was tempted on the Cortez side plates, but the factory look with red anodized finish gave it a modern factory look.

    What benefit does a double dog have over a single? Does the double prevent the clicking noise?

    • @Seastheday88
      @Seastheday88  Před rokem

      The double is an additional piece of mind. Single or double on these will always click, the design is spring loaded, thus always forcing the pawl back to the sprocket. Other vendors design that uses a sleeve to hold the pawl in place don’t have the clicking noise. Just a couple of brands that have double anti reverse pawl, Shimano Trinidad, Penn Fathom and Torque. The Daiwa Saltist and Saltiga I’ve seen is single, Shimano Torium and Ocea Jigger 2000 was single. Accurate doesn’t use any pawl, only Anti Reverse bearings which this Pro Gear has as well. I think it’s one of those thing that we know when we hook on to something and know we may experience a breakage, we don’t want it to be the reel. So reduce as much points of failures as possible. Just my opinion and hope that helps🤙 happy thanksgiving 🍁

      Double dogs also equalize torque, bro.
