- “Chamba Kitni Duur” is a Himachali Folk Song. It’s a simple and pure song about love. Here a girl is asking her mother how far Chamba is ‘cause that is where her beloved lives.
It is said that “Nature has music for those who listen..”
I visited Himachal Pradesh recently for a concert & was in complete awe of the beautiful mountains. This video is my journey of how Mother Nature inspired me to find the music of my soul.

Being Mumbaikar I hardly get attracted to other parts of India, Right now I am travelling in Himachal, Chamba and Dalhousie etc, Ohhh my god!!! This place is so so so amazing and beautiful that I already started hating city like Mumbai, People living here are so satisfied and happy in their own life, Nature is blessed... I feel unlucky not being born as pahadi himachalian!!!

Thanks buddy, yess himachal is best. Born brought up in different parts of country. But there is nothing like himachal. People are satisfied n living happily. One thing i learnt the lesser u r modern the more u r happy. In cities its only shor sharaba n everything is there but with money. Sukh aur ananad to vnha hai jnha paisa na ho. Jnha aapsi mail jol se sare kaam hote hon. J ha i sano ki jarurat jada n paiso ki km ho.

Himachal Pradesh was the part of Punjab till 1966. Today these areas are not part of Punjab though they speak Punjabi language (there are several dialects of Punjabi) because during census they declared Hindi as their mother tongue.
Neither Punjabi muslims nor Punjabi Hindus are loyal with their mother tongue. After 1947 in West Punjab (Pakistan) Punjabi muslims deceived their mother tongue and adopted Urdu and in East Punjab (India) Punjabi Hindus deceived their mother tongue and adopted Hindi.
In Himachal Pradesh they have even not given second language status to Punjabi though it is their mother tongue 😅😄😃.
The Punjabi Muslims and Punjabi Hindus both have destroyed their own culture and language. The muslims of West Punjab and the Hindus of East Punjab should learn how to give respect to their mother tongue from Bangladesh. They separated from Pakistan because they (Pakistan) were trying to impose Urdu language on them.

Chamba is a connecting point between Lower and Upper Himachal. Though we are from lower Himachal but our topography is more like upper Himachal like Shimla, kullu, Kinnaur and Lahoul Spiti but our language(only chambyali) is more closer to Lower Himachali like Kangari. This may be the reason Chamba can't be ignored by either of region in folk, culture, beauty and tradition.

I am from bhaderwah, a town in jammu, adjoining chamba..it seems chamba and areas of jammu like bhaderwah, kishwar, kathua form a single enthnolinuistic block..you will be surprised, we all speak western pahari dialects..i was very surprised to find that my dialect bhaderwahi was almost similar to the ones spoken in most areas of chamba...
We were one people but high mountains never let us unite and recognize this fact.

Himachal , switzerland types of places are tremendous boring and hard during winter and rainy season. Its only good for tourist who visit for 3 to 4 days. Many people go to himachal n switzerland for lifetime but gets bored in just 20 to 30 days and starts smoking sutta , charas , ganza. There is nothing like permanent happiness anywhere in whole world. Himachal , Switzerland are only good for people who want to remain in illusion for lifetime that one day or next birth, i will get permanent happiness .....hahahahahaha .....

Although I am also a pahadi from Jammu division , I was excited initially that I will get to live in such a beautiful place where people are paying a huge sum to live for one day only.
But , I was bored in just 15 days. I got depressed living there alone, winters were unbearable for me. I have started now repelling the idea to live in such beautiful places. Kehte Hain na- door ke dhol suhavne.
