Me on monday morning realizing i have to go to work.

This is one of the most caring officers I've ever known, on CZcams or in person. He is amazing! He needs to be in charge of the police department to teach respect and public relations.
This may sound kind of silly. But police officers should probably study rhetoric. It's not just what you say, it's how you say it.

I agree. He said she is so beautiful, and he doesn't feel comfortable around kids right now. He was totally embarrassed, and he didn't like being labeled a druggie. I hope he remembers this moment and chose not to do the drugs anymore.

@shenxi yes he did, but maybe it was because he was ashamed of it. There are some drug addicts that are really ashamed of being that way, and that's why they lie, saying that they don't do drugs when clearly they do. It's sad
@@worriedmomof2311 That's extremely sad, indeed. I hope this man gets better. 🙏 My father was actually a drug addict, but he never recovered from it. His drug of choice was methamphetamine, and it really messed him up. They took him away from me when I was only 6 years old, and I didn't see him until I was at least 17. He died when I turned 21 from an overdose. I will always miss him, even though he was absent for most of my life.
He's worried that if he shows up in a police car his friends won't let him stay.

Must be new to this channel-the vast majority of videos here are nonviolent. Lots of human sadness however.
This channel definitely has a pro cop bias. They never show cases of police abuse or civil rights violations. It's rare to find honest, objective content that shows all sides of police interactions.
This channel is showing day-to-day work of Columbus PD, at least the more interesting/odd interactions. It’s run by Officer Ben (pseudonym) and most videos are from his own bodycam. His other channel “Thoughts of a Patrol Officer” covers cases where police were both in the right and in the wrong.

You are really good at dealing with people. I find it incredibly sad how many drug addicts and homeless fall through the cracks if society.
We need more of you officer Ben. We called last night for a fella that looked like this on the corner Nationwide Blvd. and high cause he was on the ground saying " I got nothing to do with this" and no one around him. The dispatcher didn't sound happy and of course we waited a half hour and no one ever came. We asked if he was ok and he said no that's when my wife called to try and get him help.
Yes sadly there arent enough Officers Bens to go around!! The City offering cash payouts to get Senior Officers to take retirement early and City Council and our esteemed Mayor seem to work against Police and slash their budget and make it so they hire less Officers!! Plus the DA Tyack (thankfully I think he is a 1 and done) ran on a platform that if he prosecutes more Cops the streets will be safer and crime goes down. Between him and their new Civilian Review Boards treatment of Officers including how they treated Officer Ben nobody wants to be a Cop anymore. I have said and could say more but I dont want to offend anyone and sadly its happened before when I state facts I have been called many names for my voting choice. But I am sorry I went on a tangent there for a second but I dont like how are Police in Columbus are treated and they are one of if not the best Police Department in the Country!! Plus you see it in the comments to. Anyway sorry that happened so did anyone ever show up while you where there?
@@bigpaulie7887 No. He made it across the street after leaning on a nice car for 5 min or so and laid down by the Columbus Convention Center sign. Don't know if it was drugs, alcohol or mental but we just wanted to make sure he got help after he said he wasn't ok. We had our son with us so we only stayed in the are for 30 min.

It's an Ohio thing. These are the types of police that I saw my whole life. I was walking home, and it was close to dusk. When the officer saw me, he stopped to ask where I was going. I wasn't scared, but I knew he was going to make get in the car and take me home. Sure enough. He said "sweetheart my conscious won't let me leave you out here. I'll take you anywhere you want to go." He took me where i said was home about 15 mins away. All was good except when I went to my real home my mom was pissed. I was being a spoiled brat and didn't want to wait for her to come get me. FYI, the T-shirt represents YSU Penguins.
Drugs is a helluva drug.

Thumbnails are always garbage in my opinion. I look for titles and channel names. You have some entertaining and informative videos. I’m building up to watching the 2020 riot vids though. I still get anxiety remembering that summer. It was uncomfy and stressful time for sure!

Yeah thats Officer Ben for ya. He works in the absolute worst neighborhood in Columbus too. But everyone knows him out there and so do his fellow Officers!! He was actually in the paper and on TV I think for buying a teen some headphones after doing a call where other girls jumped her and stole them. It was close to her Birthday too. So yeah Officer Ben is awesome!! You should check out his other channel if you havent its smaller but way more him and his thoughts and views!!

Great video! If you are caught sleeping with your pants down in a park by the Police, it is likely to be considered a public indecency or an offense related to public nudity. You might get a warning or a fine because the situation is relatively minor. Well Done to the officer who handled it very well! Thanks for the video! 🙌❤👍
Looked like he had on basketball shorts so the pants that he had on over them being pulled down wouldn't really be considered "indecent".
