This video should be shown in every single middle/high school in this country. Drug addiction is no joke. It is a dirty, miserable, pain-filled life.
You have absolutely no clue about drug addiction, other than what you see on the news so stfu!! You are under the assumption that EVERYONE that use drugs ends up like this, and thats your ignorance showing!! This is NOT what happens with EVERY drug user, you're ignorant!!! Dont be so stupid, yes drugs are bad, no this does NOT happen to EVERY single drug user, you wouldn't know addict if they were talking to you, you probably have a friends/family or neighbors that are an addict and YOU HAVE NO IDEA, because you're ignorant, and you think that this is what every addict looks like! There are millions of people that use drugs and lead completely normal lifestyles, the only addicts YOU see are the poor, again showing your ignorance!!!
I totally agree with you
Problem is kids these days don't care at all...they think they are immortal and better than everybody...
It's also really enjoyable
@@Daydreamer-yh8kmyou clearly talk to kids don’t you💀
Where the hell would we be as a society without first responders: Firefighters Police EMT’s. I believe we would be lost.
@miloteagan, we would be lost & we would be victims of criminals with no one to call…thank goodness we have police, EMT’s, firefighters, ambulances, Doctors & hospitals.👍👏👏👏💜
Amen!
We are lost. We need Jesus Christ the Saviour. Call out for Salvation now. In faith are we saved.
I Think We Would Be Dead!! 💔🖤🕊️😞😢😭🤦🤷
As a society?! 🤣🤣
dang needles all over the floor, 100% respect for the medics having to work in this enviroment, having seen medics in combat and civilian life has me convinced they are the true heroes of our society
Ditto
Disgusting
I agree
From a retired EMS medic Thank You for the respectful words ,I have seen good and I have seen bad but at the end of the day wouldn't trade it for any other job
Absolutely, medics train beyond normal. And when they come back it's a struggle. But it shouldn't be . So much respect for military medics.
There are NO WORDS for this type of situation. Grief, sadness, anger, remorse, incredulous, fear, pain and admiration. The 1st Responders really are a rare breed of human and sadly much needed. Hats off to these men & women who do this for us day in, day out.
Aroun d 7:45 in, you can hear him repeating, " I just want to die, I just want to die". This is absolutely heart breaking!
As an addict in recovery, I can say this is absolutely true. You just want to die. You want it to all be done and over with. Being an addict is the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. It's depressing.
big hugs you, remember you're brave you can do anything. I was there once too, it's been 9 years since I used Opioids. I was in a coma 4 days because of an overdose. my son found me, after i learned my mom died. My son is my hero he called 911. After i came out of the hospital which i was in for 2 weeks, I never did drugs again.
The addict screaming on the floor today, can live to fight another day to become a part of the solution. Thank God we live in a society where there is help from addiction and pain if one is truly ready to end the suffering. ❤
@jencernuto7321 same here. I had said that so many times.
I am so impressed in how all of the responders dealt with this young man. They showed respect and compassion. Our first responders do not get enough praise for all they do. I just hope this young man can stay away from the drugs.
I'm not impressed, I'm shocked, is this policy?
@@carlmorgan8452what? Saving someone's life?
What ever he took it was a lot. His body was freaking the hell out and immediately went into sever withdrawals… you can even here his teeth chattering from the chills a person gets during withdrawals
when your using a lot daily and seriously addicted combined with being almost dead/out for a long time it hurts so so so so so much....the sheer terror is just unreal tbh worse thing ive experienced in my life
Sincere respect and appreciation for all the first responders who walk into these situations every single day.. keep fighting the good fight 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
This should be shown in grade 12 high schools - maybe it would scare more people to stay away from hard drugs. It would’ve scared the bejesus out of me!
Yes, but start showing it in 7th grade … before out really gets going.
I think it should be shown to officers on how to deal with people, but if you think the adverage 17-18 yr old hasn’t seen atleast one person in their families in this state then I think your mistaken. I’ll stick to my weed tho I ain’t gonna end up with no teeth
i dont think it would solve much, most people don't wake up one day deciding they want to start taking drugs, rather they would be prescribed opioids that help them deal with problems like depression and then they start taking more etc etc you know the rest. using me as an example, I started smoking weed because it helped me to self medicate my anxiety and depression because I had tried anti anxiety pills but they didnt really work for me. Eventually I discovered mindfulness meditation and got prescribed medical marijuana so luckily for me it didn't spiral out of control, but I am still trying to quit smoking and start vaping since it is healthier. Some people have more pain in their life and thus they would need more help than I got, these are the people that end up like this guy, so ye I don't think showing them a video of this guy will do much since no one wants to be like this guy anyways
We all end up on drugs in old age in hospital
@@sadhu7191 Ha! That’s pretty true
I was this guy once. I was this. Fresh outta highschool, I took some crazy form of Russian LSD, I think it was called amt but I can’t remember now, ha! My parents called my siblings from their respective two hours away (I’m the baby of the family) because they genuinely thought I was going to die. They had to call a “code white” I believe which was basically “all nurses on deck” in our small town hospital. …also I worked there as a file clerk. My mom had been there for 38 years at the clinic affiliated with the hospital. My dad was the chief of police. I guess I’m just trying to say life is wild…you really never know…and everyone was always somebody’s baby at the end of the day. I am so incredibly blessed to have both my mom and dad, a husband and three sons all these years later. God bless you, Officer Ben.
I was having an out of body experience. I was hallucinating for two days straight. Not necessarily trying to fight anyone, just in a completely different reality.
Glad you made it! I was there too
I'm glad you got the help you needed to get back sober. I pray this guy gets the help he needs so sad to hear him say he wants to die 😢😢
Glad you made it! Addiction is hard and can hit anyone!
I had a mental breakdown that took me half a year to feel better from. Still suffer bad anxiety to this day. Wasnt able to even look into the sky without having a panic attack.
I have 5 granddaughters, and this world scares the shit of me for them!!😢
Ain't that the truth!
Yes same, My daughter is 7 yrs old. This world is not safe!! Not for one second...
I was a Respiratory Therapist for almost twenty years and I clearly recall the first time I saw Narcan administered. This was the late 80’s and heroin was the prevalent drug. The guy was in his early twenties and had no signs of life. If he had a pulse it was too weak to feel. Narcan was an injection only then and as soon as he was given the injection he woke up and swung at me. I had been warned so I was prepared and ducked it. Then he yelled at me saying that I ruined the best high he had ever had. I told him “you were dead…” 🤦🏽
Yep, it's so sad but in a way it's true.
Yep got swung at multiple times
Several years ago when I was using very heavily, I had to administer Narcan to my then-current husband. He was not breathing and turning blue. When I got him to come around he freaked out at me and almost punched me. It sends you into immediate withdrawals, not a great feeling for a user. No excuses, all the sympathy to the officers and medics, hopefully this man gets himself help to get on the other side. So much more to life once you kick the terrible opiates.
Idk opiates are easier to quit then cigarettes.
@@sadhu7191 really have you done it ? You keep saying that. I can assure you as a person who has been through serious opiate withdrawal it's no joke. One of the worse things you can ever go through on this Earth.
@@sadhu7191um no they're not.
I’ve had Narcan and got violently ill and also freaked out. This is a real reaction to the effects of Narcan on someone with an opiate/opioid addiction. While it can save your life, it can make you very ill… and angry. Thanks for showing this.
I hope you're doing ok these days 💜
Looks fun !
@@MsWaggydog Thank you so much! It’s hard work to beat an opiate/opioid addiction, especially when you still battle chronic pain from an injury or illness. Videos like this are a good reminder of the hell involved with that awful life.
Coming down is hard enough when it's slow.
@@suitejodi, the best thing I did to make my pain go away was to eliminate simple carbohydrates and balance my omega 3 to omega 6 fatty acid intake. When that's not enough, I take some poke weed tincture or butterwort extract. ...ashwagandha as well if those don't cut it. Best wishes to you in your pain management. I feel you.
Thanks So Much First Responders, Officers and Paramedics for helping this gentleman.
It's called precipitated withdrawal. As soon as they gave him the Narcan it immediately kicked all the drug off the opioid receptors and he had severe onset of all the withdrawal symptoms at once, not ramping up over a period of several hours that would happen normally. I'm sure he felt like he was dying and also hurt so bad that he wanted to die - poor guy.
@nerbur I don't know much of anything about that stuff. My at time girlfriend, now ex gave me an oxy one night. I've been dealing with back pain most of my adult life. I wanted to see if it would help. I honestly didn't feel that much but the next morning I puked my brains out. That shit is evil. I did some reading and apparently it's fairly common to make you sick when you come down so people take more. My GF got hooked on them. Looking back I feel dumb for not realizing. She was puking all the time. She originally told me they always made her puke but it was because she didn't eat. It wasn't true. That's how they effect tons of people. She was so erratic. I knew something was off. I tried questioning her younger sister but she said everything was normal. It definitely was not
I don’t believe he’s going through precipitated withdrawals because he was acting like this before they gave him Narcan
Oh this was before narcsn? I've seen ppl freak out after getting hit with narc an due to withdrawl
@@patricknoone171If that was the first and only pain pill and you weren’t already addicted, you just felt a side effect of the oxycodone. It makes many people vomit. Opioids have a lot of nasty side effects or just effects.
…Even if it was the next morning.
911 call said that he was breathing and had a heartbeat they gave him Narcan before First Responders came
The nonsense that the police, emts and firefighters have to put up with is beyond ridiculous. The police, emts and firefighters all deserve substantial raises.
bless the first responders.
What'd he OD on? I tell you, I watch a ton of YT and I live in Columbus. Our Fire/EMS/CPD are incredible! Thank you to all First Responders!
Pretty much a garuntee to be fentanyl, heroin doesn’t really exist in America at this point and most painkillers people buy are fake and just pressed with fentanyl
Narcan only works on an opioid based overdose and no other drugs.
Some sort of opiate since that’s what narcan treats. It often makes them sick and combative, basically throwing them straight into withdrawal. That’s why some people immediately OD again. They’re dope sick so they use again and the cycle continues
He did opioids, ODed, then the NARCAN sent him into opioid withdrawals instantly. The pain will wear off when the Narcan does. And about then is when he will need his next opioid fix or he will go slowly back into withdrawals.
Opiates hence the narcan. Poor guy.
It was extremely hard watching this young man suffer like this. I cried the whole time because it reminded me of my son, who has been chained to his addiction to the point of overdosing more than once.
I’m so sorry. That must be so hard to watch.
I'm sorry ,I'm not making excuses but we are trying to numb extreme pain. I hope he gets clean but I've slipped more then once . 🙏🙏

@@suspiciouswatermelon7639 I never said for him to trust Jesus don't assume something

Thank GOD for Narcan... It saved my life so many times before I got clean. I pray this man finds his way out 💕
2:07 he either saw his way to hell and got so scared or he saw God and saw how sad*** he was making him...I'm in** recovery and almost got 3 years! I remember overdosing and waking up by narcan** and freaking out. I remember seeing God and how disappointed he was in me it hurt more than anything! It was so bittersweet to see but it scared*** me straight!!!
Congratulations on your 3 years. God show you the way. Follow his path.
The god talk is gross 🤮
That's what I was thinking as well, Why would he be screaming like that? I think something happened when he was out and it scared the shit out of him. Then add the pain from withdrawal, and you get something like this as an outcome..
Precipitated withdrawal is excruciating! Praying he gets sober and can thrive one day! 🙏🏼
Yes. It makes you feel this bad. THIS IS NOT AN EXAGGERATION.
THANK GOD FOR ANYONE WHO HELPS.
He went nuts because the narcan put him in precipated withdrawals. It’s painful. His whole body is on fire. Drugs are horrendous. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.
you were all so kind and helpful. I've heard it from recovering junkies being they were pissed by the narcan and wanted to snuff it so just thought it's why he freaked out and then to hear him beg for death is so sad. hopefully he can get help. sometimes it takes rebuilding a soul thru true humanity like you all had for him, to know their life matters, for it to happen
The worst part is, he'll do it again
Not always true
I've been narcaned 15+ times and I'm still an active user. I should be dead. This is a normal reaction. This is the nature of the beast. It's a sad lonely life. The thing about wanted to die, it's a 24/7 thing.
It’s something like 97% will never be able to stay clean. The odds that he does this again within a few weeks are so nearly guaranteed.
I’m not bashing him, I have my own vice. I’ve never OD’d once though. Doesn’t look like fun.
This must have been terrifying for whoever lives with him. An overdose, then going off like that.
Don't understand why they run back to that stuff again and again knowing they and die and freaking out like that. How is that pleasure at all? Their skin comes off and one drug makes you pee blood and one makes your body so hot that a person takes off all their clothes on the street. All make some see devils after them. And they can't wait to take it again and risk death and infections along with long deep large open bleeding skin patches..
I know the drigs I take make me feel better
I saw someone do that once, not that bad but bad enough. You have no idea in the world how it feels unless you've been there, so helpless. You want to help but know you can't and it's always in your mind that they've lost it for good and you just lost your loved one. It's there, I'm telling you, you even wonder if you should have just let them go peacefully before calling medics, it's so so hard to watch, and so terrifying, and what I saw wasn't near this bad. You never forget it and wish you could. Making it worse, where I am, the majority of the first responders aren't that nice and helpful.
The fact that all kinds of first responders put themselves at risk to try and help those set on self destruction is very humbling. I hope that even a fraction of those they help whom overdose, get the true help they need after to get clean and stay clean. Thank you all kinds of first responders.
Oh man, I hope he gets the help he desperately needs. As I always say. Just say NO to drugs, kids! Thanks for sharing what you guys deal with the most. God bless, and please stay safe out there, brother!! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

Dang if that doesn’t sound like a po’d demon
I truly hope that this young guy finds a better way in life.
I worked in the emergency room for years and ppl who have had Narcan administered can be very violent. They come out swinging and attack anyone within reach. My son was a security guard and he hated when I had to be in the room with these patients, I often had to tell him not to get in front of me. Just a son who loves his mom. We seriously need more rehabs and mental health care services. It’s so out of control 💔
I am SO happy I am not addicted to opiates. ❤❤❤

I don't think this is opiates , this is more like angel dust or flakka .. possible mix w mental probs who knows
Ok I'm wrong, that's all it works on. I didn't realize heroine was an opiate. You're right and I'm wrong.
@1791CDA I just Googled it narcan only works on opiates. I didn't realize heroine was an opiate. I don't know drugs well
I've decided finally on my profession is to become an EMT like my brother. There job is so important as the officers. To have that care and sympathy during such a critical moment is so very important. God bless our first responders ✝️

Only given narcan in the ER so it's a slightly more controlled environment than on the street. Even so before I pushed it I always made sure my nuts were covered and I was ready to jump back
I'm an RN in A&E & have been head butted & bitten - not much compared to others. Now I've learnt to jump back out of reach!

Most individuals that are overdosing usually are out of it they are not even consciously aware of what is happening to them. But Joseph on the other hand was, which means the Lord has special plans for Joseph’s life.

He’d remember the pain 😢
This is heartbreaking! 💔 Addiction is awful! I pray he realizes that he needs help and picks a better life for himself and his loved ones! Drugs are not worth dying for.
I respect the man that said flat out he wasn't helping
Every legislator should have to watch this. They keep legalizing drugs. This will only get worse. No wonder our enemies keep shipping us so many drugs.
Legalization removes the "forbidden fruit" syndrome where they feel they need it precisely because you told them not to touch it. Also, drugs should be regulated by the FDA to prevent mixing drugs to make them more dangerous.
@@imjessietr29is that why Portland’s measure 110 caused a 50% spike in overdose deaths YoY, making them a leader in ODs nationwide, since it was enacted?
What legalized drug produces this effect?
Not only that but the HUGE social stigma and the massive amount of consequences prevent people from seeking help.
In the end, under the current system people feel trapped. Especially the higher functioning addicts. If they "seek help" they get burned by their friends and family. Lose their jobs. Lose their kids. Have damning things on their medical records.
So yeah. Legalizing it, making it so cheap that fentanyl disappears, providing EASY and CONSEQUENCE FREE routes to treatment and rehab are some steps that would probably save many lives.
Watching this was heartbreaking 😢
When I was addicted i died three times and obviously brought back three times by narcan and let me tell you that it SUCKS imagine having the worst flu of your life with puking, sweating, hold and cold spells, shitting yourself controllably, the worst body aches you've ever felt, no sleep for at least 48 hours and every minute feels like an hour. Luckily I've never experienced rage and anger but i have heard its common. Im so glad that part of my life is over and not having to worry about dying or hurting my family. Stay away from drugs kids.
Congratulations on your recovery. I too was an opiate addict (among other things). But put it down years ago. It was the best decision. And as you know, a painful experience to go thru.
There are drugs they could also give to help with withdrawal. Sadly, most feel withdrawal is deserved.
And this is why folks..this is why people stay addicted.. if you knew that one more little fix would make all of this go completely away and feel all better??? What would you choose???? Also if you had no money and you were feeling like this... how easily would it be to commit a crime to get money to make all of this go away??? Ive been here and because of this I'll never go back... Clean 3½ years .. May God have mercy on his Soul....
How come that some people who get Narcan don't react in any kind of way except "waking up" and be a little bit confused about what happened? It looks more like someone just gave them some smelling salt.. Does it differ depending on the drug?
The demise of our society.

These LEO and first responders are severely underpaid and disrespected! Kudos to these brave people who run into these situations while others are running.away. This drug running into America must stop. All kids should watch this after age 12. So sad and scary. Think of the family of this man, and what they go thru 24/7.
The expensive and critical resources of 10+ firemen and policeman are expended to transport one drug addict to a hospital where he’ll receive treatment, incur a medical bill that he won’t ever pay, then get discharged to return home and do the exact same thing tomorrow. Only in America.
Initially, this just breaks my heart.
Update: This is one of the saddest, intimate videos that I’ve seen in a while.
Trust me when I say you NEVER want to be narcaned. I'm 6 years clean. But I will NEVER forget the feeling or narcan in my system. It makes you feel like your dying. Your head feels like it's going to explode or implode. You can do nothing but wait for it to stop.
This absolutely breaks my heart 😢

So sad but such a eye opener! My 28 year old grand son just sent me a video with his friend landing a trout! I am blessed! Some where out there is a mom and dad that is waiting for him to come home!
Some addicts would rather drift away in their euphoric high, than to wake up to the nightmare of being sober and withdrawals, and wondering how the hell they are going to get that fix asap. Right in that moment they would rather be high and dead. Drugs are the monster under the bed.
I have epilepsy but also take the lowest amount of oxycontin (10mg) 3 times a day. After I was found down in my apartment, and EMS was called, they saw the opiate container and gave me Narcan , just in case.
They put it in my I.V. after I was already coming out of the postictal stage, and it felt like mud was traveling up my arm and then all the way thru my body. I wasn't on a high enough dosage to cause actual withdrawal, but it didn't feel great.
I'd be curious to hear how others have experienced Narcan administration. Hearing this guy say he just wants to die is heartbreaking. Hope he gets real help after this.

Mentally insane people in wards trying NOT to act like this
Overly stressing a person can kill. Even if they think they're doing the right thing. Person laughing at one point is very concerning.
Man Im glad i never acted like this after Narcan.
This is why it is best to search and handcuff before narcan application when possible. One suspect killed multiple firefighters and officers because he awoke from narcan and started shooting. Recently heard about a case where a family is suing a city because thier family member was narcan and then ran into the streets, getting hit by a bus and dying.
do you have a source? or video link?
On the family suing the city, they should be grateful there were people who attempted to help their family member. It’s not their fault he reacted as he did. He was on his way to killing himself anyway. Responders do the best they can with these people, but it doesn’t always turn out the way anyone wants.
