Even without the edit I’ve never seen this happen in a child’s show. A character dying painfully on camera. Passing out/fainting or in hospitals all done peacefully, but never like this.
I remember seeing this as a kid in the late 90's. Dan the cop was Superman's friend. Darkseid killed Dan to prove a point. Every win has it's losses. There was nothing Superman could had done. The beams were to fast. Superman was caught off guard.
But being honest, Snyder was right about the destruction such a fight should cause. I mean, it was unrrealistic how Supes fought world destroyers in Metropolis and there were zero casualties. Maybe the depiction was too extreme for the usual Superman story but at least his efforts were based on a reasonable concept.

I don't know why this idea popped into my head, but I'd kinda love to see a comic or storyline where it's an individual with Superman powers and upbringing, but the biggest difference is that they have a form autism. Like how would a person with hyper sensitivity react if they had super senses? How would they feel about the world and deal with different situations? How would they deal with super villains and such?
