I like your review. It is very extensive & detail but I like to know more about master league. How it is as oppose to career mode in Fifa 20. Also, I like your review on playlist but Fifa 20 has a bad playlist too. FIFA 19 was better in terms of their soundtrack. Anyway, good job mate
FIFA has amazing presentation and atmosphere and is fun and easy to play. It's richer than PES and has better marketing. PES is an authentic football gameplay experience. You have to work for you goals and it's a challenge. So when you do score a goal you know you earned it.

ronny lee I personally disagree with you. The AI in this game is the worst AI I have every seen in any AAA sports game. I get that you have to work for the goals but sometimes the reason you have to work for it is that the AI never starts running for the through ball. The refs are the worst I have seen in a sports game, and finally sometimes the game just decided to pass to a random team mate instead of the one my joystick was pointing to.

@Ted Cikowski I think they swap out the MLS for whatever the generic Latin American league is, PLA league or something like that. You can adjust the draw size and as far as I know you can play a league. The Bundesliga replaces the PEU league, for example.

If pes improve presentation and atmosphere and kits, fifa will not be near to it, the license is easily solved with an option file I played fifa demo and couldn't finish two games because it just the same boring animation and gameplay
Agree. It's like the game didn't evolve. It's awful. I usted to play fifa since the 14. I had enough with the 19. And I try the demo of the 20. And it was ridiculous. I immediately felt it was the same thing. Like you don't have to know how to play. The game benefits the ones who don't know how to play. Pes is way better. It's a real simulator.

I agree with pretty much everything you said, i'd like to add that in two player mode with a friend...PES is eternal. Nothing beats two player PES with a mate, it just scratches that real football itch, FIFA comes a lonely second in that department.

As a Fifa player I do like the graphics of PES the colors attracts me more then FIfa but Fifa does have more details. Other thing I like about PES is the AI how the players move on the field is more realistic then FIFA and makes it sometime look real but the gameplay like tackles interceptions passing FIFA wins by a mile. The reason people like FIFA is because its more arcade it's like when you have a pinball machine

The pack opening animation on PES 2019-2020 is just so satisfying to watch. And Konami is also focusing on the Mobile version as well, which is also very realistic considering it's a mobile game. And 2019-2020 is the era of Mobile games, like PUBGM, Call of Duty, League also has a mobile version next year, and PES Mobile has always been better than Fifa mobile
The customization is what makes PES. You can mod literally everything and turn your experience into a full blown football sim. I mean I have every team in the world just about and all the tournaments like Uefa Champions League and Europa. Not to mention the Euro and the World Cup.
Played the FIFA demo for 5 minutes - deleted and back to PES 2020. FIFA can have as many game modes as it likes, but if the football on the pitch is crap, your not gonna play it anyway.
If I still had 19 I wouldn't have bothered. The Audio is a huge issue for me as it's driven me mad for years and it's still the same commentary and chants have changed little. Only reason I bought it was when they offered it on PSN as a free game...I traded it then they changed their mind at last minute so I was forced to download the lite version until PES2020 came out. PES2020 Gameplay is smoother and glad they added the new camera angle. Could have added a second one. Maybe there's more changes under the hood but visually in the menus and ingame content it's not a huge leap over 19. I still feel as if they're doing an EA and adding minimal incremental changes rather than fixing a lot of the things at once. So they know sound is crap but they'll make a few releases with some minor fixes and at some point put in the effort to change the audio... If it's still more of the same with just higher res graphics then it just won't be good enough to cut it. I played every ISS / PES game but stopped at PES6 on PS2...never bought anymore until PES16 on PS4. I have no qualms about doing it again and if fifa sort out the animations, button delay, ball physics then I maybe enticed to buy that. I'm no one's bitch and have no loyalty to these companies. It's simply about finding the game that I enjoy most.
Yeah, brand loyalty is just stupid... Konami should seriously work on their weak points so they can actually stand a chance on next gen consoles just like fifa did on ps3 and xbox 360 🤷♂️
@@Hitman89plays agree...and it's not like they're having to do a lot...for years people have pointed to the commentary and audio as well as the menus...what did they do ...gave us minor changes in the chants and some new wallpaper and moved the menus for most of the screens. Pretty dissapointing...yes I know they're not as big as EA but they still have a large sales volume so must be banking a pretty penny for each release year on year so they're running out of excuses if they don't improve these areas in the next edition for sure.
PES 2019 sold 0.5 million copies though while fifa 19 sold 20 millions, 40 times more than pes so unless Konami get their shit together, they'll eventually have to stop making pes to focus on more profitable games... 😕

The Realistic Looks And The Gameplay Is Waaaaaaay Much Better Than The Past Fifa's I've Ever Played, Yh Fifa Has More Menu Options Than Pes But Who Cares? Can't lie the demo has got me absolutely hooked, I've been mashing it out for weeks! All I need to do now is sit back and wait for PES20 lite to release because I only really play Online matches and My Cub.
Bought PES since 2013 and its the first time Im probably going to wait for the lite version. As a PES player its really just a dlc and nothing changed in myclub. So I really dont see any reason for buying this game again since its free in a few months. The game still needs patches anyway, so the timing will be great.
The in match gameplay in FIFA is hugely flawed imho. My biggest gripe is the ai of team mates doing stupid shit that stifles the build up play I try to do. I find the fun in FIFA is breaking the game to succeed despite its flaws that work against me

Exactly, AI is another thing compared to pes 2019, and so more human, and really a lot of various situations, every game is different from the other in pes 2020

I’ve been playing pes since it was called winning 11 on ps1 with batistuta and these guys haha (I’m 33 👴🏼). i quit for a few years but I’m back now and I’m loving it! i feel like a kid again playing master league 😂. there’s just two things i wish they could improve: 1. in become a legend and master league they need to stop with the random form arrows. it needs to be more realistic like it should build over time and depend on how a player performs from game to game. if a player scores a hat trick he shouldn’t have a down arrow the next game! this really frustrates me cause what i love about pes is how realistic it feels. I don’t want to keep changing the formation every game based on random forms. also form should be a little affected by playing home vs away maybe? i’m really interested to hear your opinion on this. i don’t think i’ve ever seen anyone complain about this issue.. 2. the form arrow shouldn’t affect things like speed and strength. it should only affect things like first touch, passing, shot accuracy... like in real life. its more about player confidence. then they should add another feature like “Player Fitness” for example that affects his stamina, speed, strength.. and this one would get affected by injuries, or playing time... like when a player comes back from injury and is not fully fit. or like Hazard coming back from the summer vacation looking chubby and slow haha what do you think 🤔
Comparing FIFA to PES is like comparing Afterburner to Microsoft Flight Simulator, both are aircraft games, one is an Arcade shooter, the other is a simulation of real flying, though both are undoubtedly flying games. The same applies to FIFA and PES. FIFA is a kickabout, score as many goals as you can while having fun arcade game, whereas PES is a realistic simulation of the mechanics that make up the beautiful game. FIFA, is, has, and probably always will be the mass-market consumer choice with enough funding to match, whereas PES has always been for those who know, the die-hard football fans who prefer to play PES's Champions League football rather than FIFA's 3rd Divison pub team get-together. I'm not a PES fanboy, just a long time gamer who prefers a more clinical, tactical game of videogame football.
Very good review. I am a FIFA gamer but wanted to give PES 2020 a chance. It does take some study to get the game going (to understand the navigation). I am holding my judgement because I want it to have a good experience with it. But I agree this is definitely weaker product than FIFA
I stopped playing PES after 2007 and switched to Fifa from 2008-2019. In those years I tried Pes 2010.2011,2013,2014,2015,2017,2018, and 2019 and they felt like shit compared to fifa. Still I got Pes 2020 and it feels amazing opposed to all the previous ones. I also tried the new fifa and it feels exactly like fifa 19 but with less teams and licenses. I'll just stay with fifa 19 and pes 2020 for now

The only problem I have is that the demo felt waaaay better than the official release, if the game was how the demo is then it would be the best football game I've played

The lag is horrible, makes it almost impossible to play online, the referee thinks we're playing rugby, you get knocked over from behind repeatedly in the box and no foul? This game is Despicable, don't buy it if you play online!
I waited for psn spring sale and got it for £15 coming from pes 2018. Noticed the commentary was almost the same and the replays still cannot be turned off or only for goals. Euro 2020 dlc should be out by June after covid delayed it.
PES no doubt better than fifa in Gameplay, but sure Fifa has good futures, but theres no ball physic, its like playing an arcade game. In pes, you have to play tactics, my only problem with the gameplay is, sometimw the player freezed when i passed the ball, and bad Deffender AI

Disappointed with PES2020( I'm a PES fan) I am PES fan because i like the arcade style gameplay it offers, however playing PES2020 felt to me like playing FIFA09(Yes 2008/9!) only with this gen graphics. PES switched to simulation kind of gameplay which I don't like much given the fact that i have played PES6, FIFA09, FIFA10, PES2017 extensively. I must say that for me PES' 2006 and 2017 kind of gameplay is it's USP. And i think leaving that behind is a brave experiment. Probably people who like simulation gameplay will enjoy this title. However I will stick to PES6 and PES2017.
I have been a loyal PES (ps4) gamer since 2016. I loved the gameplay but I really wished from Konami to (for god sake) stop same repetitive commentary.. I twitted about it but nothing... Finally I shifted to fifa completely thus year.. And though fifa lacks the quality gameplay but it provides the amazing environment and commentary crowd noise... They shout on your goal in home stadium and booo when lose.. I think its not hard fir Konami to bring such things in PES which would make PES more lively and interactive... Don't get me wrong.. I love PES abd want to come back.. Also want that many football lover/gamer play it and love it but i dont know if Konami will listen.. PES provides option to get configuration for teams and kits so Konami should stop running just after securing new clubs but rather make simple things more interesting first..

Now dribbling and passing feel much better, the game is more responsive, maybe is not much, but enough to let me finally enjoy the game..

PES2020 Gameplay is smoother and glad they added the new camera angle. Could have added a second one. Maybe there's more changes under the hood but visually in the menus and ingame content it's not a huge leap over 19. I still feel as if they're doing an EA and adding minimal incremental changes rather than fixing a lot of the things at once. So they know sound is crap but they'll make a few releases with some minor fixes and at some point put in the effort to change the audio... If it's still more of the same with just higher res graphics then it just won't be good enough to cut it. I played every ISS / PES game but stopped at PES6 on PS2...never bought anymore until PES16 on PS4. I have no qualms about doing it again and if fifa sort out the animations, button delay, ball physics then I maybe enticed to buy that. I'm no one's bitch and have no loyalty to these companies. It's simply about finding the game that I enjoy most.
Yeah, brand loyalty is just stupid... Konami should seriously work on their weak points so they can actually stand a chance on next gen consoles just like fifa did on ps3 and xbox 360 🤷♂️
@@Hitman89plays agree...and it's not like they're having to do a lot...for years people have pointed to the commentary and audio as well as the menus...what did they do ...gave us minor changes in the chants and some new wallpaper and moved the menus for most of the screens. Pretty dissapointing...yes I know they're not as big as EA but they still have a large sales volume so must be banking a pretty penny for each release year on year so they're running out of excuses if they don't improve these areas in the next edition for sure.
PES 2019 sold 0.5 million copies though while fifa 19 sold 20 millions, 40 times more than pes so unless Konami get their shit together, they'll eventually have to stop making pes to focus on more profitable games... 😕

The Realistic Looks And The Gameplay Is Waaaaaaay Much Better Than The Past Fifa's I've Ever Played, Yh Fifa Has More Menu Options Than Pes But Who Cares? All That Should Matter To A Football Fan (Like Me) Is The Gameplay Not The Fancy Menu Options.

Can't lie the demo has got me absolutely hooked, I've been mashing it out for weeks! All I need to do now is sit back and wait for PES20 lite to release because I only really play Online matches and My Cub.
Bought PES since 2013 and its the first time Im probably going to wait for the lite version.
As a PES player its really just a dlc and nothing changed in myclub. So I really dont see any reason for buying this game again since its free in a few months.
The game still needs patches anyway, so the timing will be great.
The in match gameplay in FIFA is hugely flawed imho. My biggest gripe is the ai of team mates doing stupid shit that stifles the build up play I try to do. I find the fun in FIFA is breaking the game to succeed despite its flaws that work against me

Exactly, AI is another thing compared to pes 2019, and so more human, and really a lot of various situations, every game is different from the other in pes 2020

I’ve been playing pes since it was called winning 11 on ps1 with batistuta and these guys haha (I’m 33 👴🏼). i quit for a few years but I’m back now and I’m loving it! i feel like a kid again playing master league 😂. there’s just two things i wish they could improve:
1. in become a legend and master league they need to stop with the random form arrows. it needs to be more realistic like it should build over time and depend on how a player performs from game to game. if a player scores a hat trick he shouldn’t have a down arrow the next game! this really frustrates me cause what i love about pes is how realistic it feels. I don’t want to keep changing the formation every game based on random forms. also form should be a little affected by playing home vs away maybe? i’m really interested to hear your opinion on this. i don’t think i’ve ever seen anyone complain about this issue..
2. the form arrow shouldn’t affect things like speed and strength. it should only affect things like first touch, passing, shot accuracy... like in real life. its more about player confidence. then they should add another feature like “Player Fitness” for example that affects his stamina, speed, strength.. and this one would get affected by injuries, or playing time... like when a player comes back from injury and is not fully fit. or like Hazard coming back from the summer vacation looking chubby and slow haha

Comparing FIFA to PES is like comparing Afterburner to Microsoft Flight Simulator, both are aircraft games, one is an Arcade shooter, the other is a simulation of real flying, though both are undoubtedly flying games.
The same applies to FIFA and PES. FIFA is a kickabout, score as many goals as you can while having fun arcade game, whereas PES is a realistic simulation of the mechanics that make up the beautiful game.
FIFA, is, has, and probably always will be the mass-market consumer choice with enough funding to match, whereas PES has always been for those who know, the die-hard football fans who prefer to play PES's Champions League football rather than FIFA's 3rd Divison pub team get-together.
I'm not a PES fanboy, just a long time gamer who prefers a more clinical, tactical game of videogame football.

Very good review. I am a FIFA gamer but wanted to give PES 2020 a chance. It does take some study to get the game going (to understand the navigation). I am holding my judgement because I want it to have a good experience with it. But I agree this is definitely weaker product than FIFA
I stopped playing PES after 2007 and switched to Fifa from 2008-2019. In those years I tried Pes 2010.2011,2013,2014,2015,2017,2018, and 2019 and they felt like shit compared to fifa. Still I got Pes 2020 and it feels amazing opposed to all the previous ones. I also tried the new fifa and it feels exactly like fifa 19 but with less teams and licenses. I'll just stay with fifa 19 and pes 2020 for now

I waited for psn spring sale and got it for £15 coming from pes 2018. Noticed the commentary was almost the same and the replays still cannot be turned off or only for goals. Euro 2020 dlc should be out by June after covid delayed it.

PES no doubt better than fifa in Gameplay, but sure Fifa has good futures, but theres no ball physic, its like playing an arcade game. In pes, you have to play tactics, my only problem with the gameplay is, sometimw the player freezed when i passed the ball, and bad Deffender AI

I am PES fan because i like the arcade style gameplay it offers, however playing PES2020 felt to me like playing FIFA09(Yes 2008/9!) only with this gen graphics. PES switched to simulation kind of gameplay which I don't like much given the fact that i have played PES6, FIFA09, FIFA10, PES2017 extensively. I must say that for me PES' 2006 and 2017 kind of gameplay is it's USP. And i think leaving that behind is a brave experiment. Probably people who like simulation gameplay will enjoy this title. However I will stick to PES6 and PES2017.
I have been a loyal PES (ps4) gamer since 2016. I loved the gameplay but I really wished from Konami to (for god sake) stop same repetitive commentary.. I twitted about it but nothing... Finally I shifted to fifa completely thus year.. And though fifa lacks the quality gameplay but it provides the amazing environment and commentary crowd noise... They shout on your goal in home stadium and booo when lose.. I think its not hard fir Konami to bring such things in PES which would make PES more lively and interactive... Don't get me wrong.. I love PES abd want to come back.. Also want that many football lover/gamer play it and love it but i dont know if Konami will listen.. PES provides option to get configuration for teams and kits so Konami should stop running just after securing new clubs but rather make simple things more interesting first..

Now dribbling and passing feel much better, the game is more responsive, maybe is not much, but enough to let me finally enjoy the game..
