When he goes turbo, I recommend a Borg Warner S252-SXE and to rear mount it, but stuff the intake and filter up through the floor into the trunk. Just ceramic coat AND header wrap the exhaust pipe all the way back to the rear and consider keeping said pipe 2.25" or run 4-2-1 header and ditch the into-1 section to instead extend the two initial collectors all the way back into each side of a twin-scroll housing. The spool might be 300 RPM worse after all is said and done, but it's a relatively small turbo with an EXCELLENT design that spools fast (10lbs before 3k on a similar-sized engine) as is, so it'll be killer for his application.
Also, like he said, the 05 and 06 sound like that because the stock header is semi-UEL. Basically, instead of the subie rumble style where 2 runners are longer than the others (cylinder pairs 1-2 vs 3-4 or 1-3 vs 2-4 on an inline 4), the stock 05/06 tC header has a single runner that's longer than the other 3, which are roughly equal length to each-other. This is why it's distinct but similar to the Subie sound. And since it's only one, it doesn't matter WHICH one is longer, just pick one and make it 50% to 2x longer than the others. I call it a "growler" header.
Funny I even have to ask considering the title of the video.....but can yall elaborate on what he did exactly to the exhaust to achieve that sound?

You know what would be cool of you?? To actually share what you did to achieve that sound!!! I only ask because it's hard enough as a woman trying to get a little assistance building a car and being told I can't or getting treated like shit for even trying (I can't believe how many guys have such a superiority complex lmao.) I don't want anyone to do this FOR me but a little guidance is appreciated... This ain't cheap lol.

Mine 2010 came from the used lot w tinted windows and a shorter antenna. I had to install spec d halos because the oem had condensation. Also installed wind deflectors, small stick on mirrors because the blind spots r crazy. I considered other mods but it’s bad enough people of all ages try racing me, yeah she’s a sexy car but also 14 and rust free.
One thing I don’t understand is how people keep destroying that trunk piece above the latch? They must be in a big hurry to wreck something.
I have one of these with the same sound. Super easy to pull off
