- Smackdown vs Raw 2009 for the Nintendo Wii is an amazing game, and I never ever thought I would say that. After SVR 2008 was an okay game as far as Wii games go. SVR 2009 was on another level and in my opinion, the Wii version might be the best way to play Smackdown vs Raw 2009. Lets take a look at why

i had this and it’s UNDERFUCKINGRATEDDDD the control they gave you with the moves and your entrance and post match attacks. it also had thumbtacks. 2009 on the wii is a forgotten gem.

@@steveaustin330 it’s very interactive as you control your move’s execution with your controller , it’s not just button press game. you get to literally create your own entrance as you can choose to do a different motion each time you come out

2010 on the wii, especially as a kid, was hype. Can confirm. Wasn't motion control or anything but it ruled.
My buddy had wwe 13 on his wii. While i was crushing still on here comes the pain. In 2012 we did got our first ps3 and got wwe 12, but we just couldn't get used to the controls from htcp to wwe 12, so we traded it in. Our first mainstream game was wwe 2k16. After that, i kept playing 2k(except 20). 2k16(awesome roster), 17(step down), 18 awesome graphics and soundtrack(down with the sickness,soul man, rocky mountain way,smokin) and roster(hardy boyz,shield,angle, you name it) 2k19(its my favorite 2k other than 2k16). Everyone loves it. And move to 2k22. GM MODEEEEEEEE, rey showcase(should had been 30 years of taker, sorry rey), and (hopefully), an actual roster(considering we got 80 last year like FUCKING FIEND,SCHERR,KROSS,KEITH LEE, HARDY, alister black, andrade, cole, BRYAN, BIG SHOW, CHRISTIAN. Samoa joe, road dogg,regal. But if they remove all the release stars, then it just got pushed back a year

0:51 ayy it's me! Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed SVR 09 on the Wii. The game truly is a gem that should be talked about more. I remember playing it a ton with my friends in High School and the amount of hours we put into it just flew by. Sadly, they decided to change it again for SVR 2010. They got rid of the motion controls and made it more of a PS2 port. Smackdown vs. Raw 2011, WWE 12, and WWE 13 would also just be ports as well. The controls were fine but it was less fun without the motion controls.
Fun fact, this was the only SVR on the Wii with an online mode

I was blessed to have a wii and a ps3 at the same time as a kid. And I never thought about getting smackdown vs raw on the wii I assumed it would be less than.

I opted for this version back in the day and I loved it and remember trying to tell my mate how good it was and he just couldn't get his head round it and I was soooooo gutted when they chose not to continue with Wii controls for 2010, imagine if they had stuck with this and what they could have come up with
I cant believe this version is never talked about! I was a huge wrestling fan at this time and had the Wii but I always assumed that the Wii versions were pretty much just the PS2 versions with some lame gimmicky controls so I never even thought about getting these versions... Never realized how much interactivity they added which was something that has always been lacking in the SVR and 2k games. Seems like there are many features in this that they could still learn from. Thanks for making this video, I have to try this version now.

This game made me an actual wrestling fan when I was 10 ( prior to that, I'd watch an episode of smackdown if there was nothing else on ). I'd spend the entirety of summer in playing this with my friend and his family.

This was the version of SvR 09 I had as a kid and was the first game I ever played seeing this video unlocked a lot of memories I forgot I had
I did a 6-man match one time and John Morrison went to do his finisher and got punched in the middle of the animation so the affect that plays when performing a finisher just stayed the rest of the match
This is awesome and the thumbtacks under the steps reminded me of wwe legends of wrestlemania because in the hell in a cell match you can find thumbtacks and use them as well
believe it or not, this was my first experience with the WWE. I bought this on my wii because I thought it was a boxing game like UFC, but it ended up being professional wresting.

This was my first ever wrestling game, when I see all wrestling YT accounts bashing SvR2009 i was extremely confused because I remember it as the best thing ever. Me and my cousin spent HOURS on this game. When I tell ppl I rate it higher than all other wwe games I got called crazy I genuinely love it so much unfortunately when I was like 12 I thought I was too cool for the Wii and I sold it sadly. I’m definitely going to buy one back and also buy this game back because i love it way too much

Loved this game back in the day on the Wii. I was ranked #2 online but the worse part is you could literally leave a match online if you were about to lose but aside from that I had a ton of fun with this back in the day.

Fun fact, this very game got me obsessed with wrestling. I was staying with my grandparents who lived a few hours away from me at the time. My grandma offered to buy me one game in a really small store, I didn’t find anything I liked but being only about 11 years old I knew I had to take my chance. Picked up wwe smack down vs raw 2009 for the WII and became obsessed immediately! A few months later I probably had 6 different wwe video games for the wii and ps3!
I did have the PlayStation 2 first when my mom bought me the Wii I have so much fun playing the WWE games I would love to revisit it again in the future

I had this game on the Wii when I was REALLY young, but I lost it unfortunately. A few years ago I bought it on the XBOX 360 and... I really just could not get used to to the controls. Now that I see someone loved this game as much as I did when they played it, it almost makes me wanna buy the last WWE game that came out on the Wii. Motion controls really work for wrestling games.
