I only hold the nostalgia so close because it was Christmas and I got it with tons of games (Force Unleashed hard case edition, and many other 2009 popular titles) and a new TV and the WiFi adapter

Its been a week now and I'm happy to report that the system is running smoothly and no RROD like the older models. The cool thing about the XBox is that I can save my game (Left for Dead 2) on the hardrive, which cuts down on the loading time and less disk scratch possibility. I think it's a good investment overall=)
@iloveketchup20 this is what happend to my consoles bearing in mind i play ps3 around 3-4 hours a day, either i got the flashing red light which cant be fixed or the console stoped reading blu ray discs, iv had 4 ps3's and they all fucked up just outside the 1 year warranty, ur looking at about £80 a time to get it fixed by sony & you only get 3 month warranty with that. sony could build a more reliable ps if they put there mind to it but why do that when they can make more money this way.

there are ways to disassemble the old hard drive and put it in a new casing (you can buy them on ebay about $5) to fit it the slim model bc they have the same internals. There are videos over this somewhere.
@BatmanLockout The loud sound is not a bad thing, it's natural. All you do is install the game you play and it will play the game much quieter. Also installing the game will improve load times, graphics rendering etc. As for the swirls are they on the console itself?

I think it's strange how that a console that's far bigger than my PS2 still has cooling problems (my PS2 never overheats, but it can get pretty danged hot if you leave it on, but yeah, I sometimes leave it on for weeks or even months without ever turning it off). My 360 has never overheated, by the way (but the thing that covers the USB ports is broken, but the inputs still work just fine)

Why is it that, with the new Xbox, it allows me to plug in my iPod via USB port, allows my to select it in media menu, but can't "find" any songs on it? Whats up with that?
@TabooMasterWatcher I'd reccomend you buy a USB vacuum cleaner for your ps3, to remove the dust out of the vents every once in a while - ive had my ps3 for over 2 years and cleaning it every once in a while hemps so much.
I purchased an xbox 360 slim a few months ago. I got the 4gb version which is only $200. The 250gb version was $100 more. So I recently decided to upgrade to the 250gb. Buying the internal hard drive costs $130 from gamestop, so I would've lost $30. I purchased a hard drive from ebay for only $50 so the total cost for me was $250 in comparison to the $300. I suggest everyone does the same as me. Also, the 4gb version isn't shiny and isn't prone to fingerprints.
The only benefit for me I see from the 360 slim is the built in wifi. Using an adapter on the 360 fat is annoying but its not that much of a hassle. Touch sensitive buttons can be hard to deal with but if its in an upgraded version of a system theres a reason behind it. Pretty much the xbox 360 slim is a safe way to never get RRoD.
@xxxBrianxxx305 is there a notification setting some where in the messages or system setting area? maybe it's turned off and if that's not it i would call xbox right away because you know how their equipment is, that little problem is probably a sign of a bigger one waiting to happen lol.

Zac Raff the Xbox 360 S is the best, it does not RROD (HUGE FAN ON TOP) and has WiFi, optical out is for surround sound for amps/AV receivers
The debate whether the 360 S or E is opinionated. I prefer the Slim due to ease of transport and doesn’t take much room.

@dan7985 the disc doesnt completly save to the hardrive it just runs the game and save the game.

@YaJay98 I doesn't matter with the new one, becase the fan is at the side. And the old xbox 360 had the fan at the back.
